1 Corinthians 11
1 Be imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ.
ഹേ ഭ്രാതരഃ, യൂയം സർവ്വസ്മിൻ കാര്യ്യേ മാം സ്മരഥ മയാ ച യാദൃഗുപദിഷ്ടാസ്താദൃഗാചരഥൈതത്കാരണാത് മയാ പ്രശംസനീയാ ആധ്ബേ|
2 Now I praise you, brothers, that you remember me in all things, and hold firm the traditions, even as I delivered them to you.
തഥാപി മമൈഷാ വാഞ്ഛാ യദ് യൂയമിദമ് അവഗതാ ഭവഥ,
3 But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
ഏകൈകസ്യ പുരുഷസ്യോത്തമാങ്ഗസ്വരൂപഃ ഖ്രീഷ്ടഃ, യോഷിതശ്ചോത്തമാങ്ഗസ്വരൂപഃ പുമാൻ, ഖ്രീഷ്ടസ്യ ചോത്തമാങ്ഗസ്വരൂപ ഈശ്വരഃ|
4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head.
അപരമ് ആച്ഛാദിതോത്തമാങ്ഗേന യേന പുംസാ പ്രാർഥനാ ക്രിയത ഈശ്വരീയവാണീ കഥ്യതേ വാ തേന സ്വീയോത്തമാങ്ഗമ് അവജ്ഞായതേ|
5 But every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered dishonors her head. For it is one and the same thing as if she were shaved.
അനാച്ഛാദിതോത്തമാങ്ഗയാ യയാ യോഷിതാ ച പ്രാർഥനാ ക്രിയത ഈശ്വരീയവാണീ കഥ്യതേ വാ തയാപി സ്വീയോത്തമാങ്ഗമ് അവജ്ഞായതേ യതഃ സാ മുണ്ഡിതശിരഃസദൃശാ|
6 For if a woman is not covered, let her hair also be cut off. But if it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut off or be shaved, let her be covered.
അനാച്ഛാദിതമസ്തകാ യാ യോഷിത് തസ്യാഃ ശിരഃ മുണ്ഡനീയമേവ കിന്തു യോഷിതഃ കേശച്ഛേദനം ശിരോമുണ്ഡനം വാ യദി ലജ്ജാജനകം ഭവേത് തർഹി തയാ സ്വശിര ആച്ഛാദ്യതാം|
7 For a man indeed ought not to have his head covered, because he is the image and glory of God, but the woman is the glory of the man.
പുമാൻ ഈശ്വരസ്യ പ്രതിമൂർത്തിഃ പ്രതിതേജഃസ്വരൂപശ്ച തസ്മാത് തേന ശിരോ നാച്ഛാദനീയം കിന്തു സീമന്തിനീ പുംസഃ പ്രതിബിമ്ബസ്വരൂപാ|
8 For man is not from woman, but woman from man;
യതോ യോഷാതഃ പുമാൻ നോദപാദി കിന്തു പുംസോ യോഷിദ് ഉദപാദി|
9 for man wasn’t created for the woman, but woman for the man.
അധികന്തു യോഷിതഃ കൃതേ പുംസഃ സൃഷ്ടി ർന ബഭൂവ കിന്തു പുംസഃ കൃതേ യോഷിതഃ സൃഷ്ടി ർബഭൂവ|
10 For this cause the woman ought to have authority over her own head, because of the angels.
ഇതി ഹേതോ ർദൂതാനാമ് ആദരാദ് യോഷിതാ ശിരസ്യധീനതാസൂചകമ് ആവരണം ധർത്തവ്യം|
11 Nevertheless, neither is the woman independent of the man, nor the man independent of the woman, in the Lord.
തഥാപി പ്രഭോ ർവിധിനാ പുമാംസം വിനാ യോഷിന്ന ജായതേ യോഷിതഞ്ച വിനാ പുമാൻ ന ജായതേ|
12 For as woman came from man, so a man also comes through a woman; but all things are from God.
യതോ യഥാ പുംസോ യോഷിദ് ഉദപാദി തഥാ യോഷിതഃ പുമാൻ ജായതേ, സർവ്വവസ്തൂനി ചേശ്വരാദ് ഉത്പദ്യന്തേ|
13 Judge for yourselves. Is it appropriate that a woman pray to God unveiled?
യുഷ്മാഭിരേവൈതദ് വിവിച്യതാം, അനാവൃതയാ യോഷിതാ പ്രാർഥനം കിം സുദൃശ്യം ഭവേത്?
14 Doesn’t even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him?
പുരുഷസ്യ ദീർഘകേശത്വം തസ്യ ലജ്ജാജനകം, കിന്തു യോഷിതോ ദീർഘകേശത്വം തസ്യാ ഗൗരവജനകം
15 But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her, for her hair is given to her for a covering.
യത ആച്ഛാദനായ തസ്യൈ കേശാ ദത്താ ഇതി കിം യുഷ്മാഭിഃ സ്വഭാവതോ ന ശിക്ഷ്യതേ?
16 But if any man seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither do God’s assemblies.
അത്ര യദി കശ്ചിദ് വിവദിതുമ് ഇച്ഛേത് തർഹ്യസ്മാകമ് ഈശ്വരീയസമിതീനാഞ്ച താദൃശീ രീതി ർന വിദ്യതേ|
17 But in giving you this command I don’t praise you, because you come together not for the better but for the worse.
യുഷ്മാഭി ർന ഭദ്രായ കിന്തു കുത്സിതായ സമാഗമ്യതേ തസ്മാദ് ഏതാനി ഭാഷമാണേന മയാ യൂയം ന പ്രശംസനീയാഃ|
18 For first of all, when you come together in the assembly, I hear that divisions exist among you, and I partly believe it.
പ്രഥമതഃ സമിതൗ സമാഗതാനാം യുഷ്മാകം മധ്യേ ഭേദാഃ സന്തീതി വാർത്താ മയാ ശ്രൂയതേ തന്മധ്യേ കിഞ്ചിത് സത്യം മന്യതേ ച|
19 For there also must be factions among you, that those who are approved may be revealed among you.
യതോ ഹേതോ ര്യുഷ്മന്മധ്യേ യേ പരീക്ഷിതാസ്തേ യത് പ്രകാശ്യന്തേ തദർഥം ഭേദൈ ർഭവിതവ്യമേവ|
20 When therefore you assemble yourselves together, it is not the Lord’s supper that you eat.
ഏകത്ര സമാഗതൈ ര്യുഷ്മാഭിഃ പ്രഭാവം ഭേജ്യം ഭുജ്യത ഇതി നഹി;
21 For in your eating each one takes his own supper first. One is hungry, and another is drunken.
യതോ ഭോജനകാലേ യുഷ്മാകമേകൈകേന സ്വകീയം ഭക്ഷ്യം തൂർണം ഗ്രസ്യതേ തസ്മാദ് ഏകോ ജനോ ബുഭുക്ഷിതസ്തിഷ്ഠതി, അന്യശ്ച പരിതൃപ്തോ ഭവതി|
22 What, don’t you have houses to eat and to drink in? Or do you despise God’s assembly and put them to shame who don’t have enough? What shall I tell you? Shall I praise you? In this I don’t praise you.
ഭോജനപാനാർഥം യുഷ്മാകം കിം വേശ്മാനി ന സന്തി? യുഷ്മാഭി ർവാ കിമ് ഈശ്വരസ്യ സമിതിം തുച്ഛീകൃത്യ ദീനാ ലോകാ അവജ്ഞായന്തേ? ഇത്യനേന മയാ കിം വക്തവ്യം? യൂയം കിം മയാ പ്രശംസനീയാഃ? ഏതസ്മിൻ യൂയം ന പ്രശംസനീയാഃ|
23 For I received from the Lord that which also I delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night in which he was betrayed took bread.
പ്രഭുതോ യ ഉപദേശോ മയാ ലബ്ധോ യുഷ്മാസു സമർപിതശ്ച സ ഏഷഃ|
24 When he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “Take, eat. This is my body, which is broken for you. Do this in memory of me.”
പരകരസമർപണക്ഷപായാം പ്രഭു ര്യീശുഃ പൂപമാദായേശ്വരം ധന്യം വ്യാഹൃത്യ തം ഭങ്ക്ത്വാ ഭാഷിതവാൻ യുഷ്മാഭിരേതദ് ഗൃഹ്യതാം ഭുജ്യതാഞ്ച തദ് യുഷ്മത്കൃതേ ഭഗ്നം മമ ശരീരം; മമ സ്മരണാർഥം യുഷ്മാഭിരേതത് ക്രിയതാം|
25 In the same way he also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink, in memory of me.”
പുനശ്ച ഭേജനാത് പരം തഥൈവ കംസമ് ആദായ തേനോക്തം കംസോഽയം മമ ശോണിതേന സ്ഥാപിതോ നൂതനനിയമഃ; യതിവാരം യുഷ്മാഭിരേതത് പീയതേ തതിവാരം മമ സ്മരണാർഥം പീയതാം|
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
യതിവാരം യുഷ്മാഭിരേഷ പൂപോ ഭുജ്യതേ ഭാജനേനാനേന പീയതേ ച തതിവാരം പ്രഭോരാഗമനം യാവത് തസ്യ മൃത്യുഃ പ്രകാശ്യതേ|
27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks the Lord’s cup in a way unworthy of the Lord will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
അപരഞ്ച യഃ കശ്ചിദ് അയോഗ്യത്വേന പ്രഭോരിമം പൂപമ് അശ്നാതി തസ്യാനേന ഭാജനേന പിവതി ച സ പ്രഭോഃ കായരുധിരയോ ർദണ്ഡദായീ ഭവിഷ്യതി|
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
തസ്മാത് മാനവേനാഗ്ര ആത്മാന പരീക്ഷ്യ പശ്ചാദ് ഏഷ പൂപോ ഭുജ്യതാം കംസേനാനേന ച പീയതാം|
29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy way eats and drinks judgment to himself if he doesn’t discern the Lord’s body.
യേന ചാനർഹത്വേന ഭുജ്യതേ പീയതേ ച പ്രഭോഃ കായമ് അവിമൃശതാ തേന ദണ്ഡപ്രാപ്തയേ ഭുജ്യതേ പീയതേ ച|
30 For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep.
ഏതത്കാരണാദ് യുഷ്മാകം ഭൂരിശോ ലോകാ ദുർബ്ബലാ രോഗിണശ്ച സന്തി ബഹവശ്ച മഹാനിദ്രാം ഗതാഃ|
31 For if we discerned ourselves, we wouldn’t be judged.
അസ്മാഭി ര്യദ്യാത്മവിചാരോഽകാരിഷ്യത തർഹി ദണ്ഡോ നാലപ്സ്യത;
32 But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
കിന്തു യദാസ്മാകം വിചാരോ ഭവതി തദാ വയം ജഗതോ ജനൈഃ സമം യദ് ദണ്ഡം ന ലഭാമഹേ തദർഥം പ്രഭുനാ ശാസ്തിം ഭുംജ്മഹേ|
33 Therefore, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.
ഹേ മമ ഭ്രാതരഃ, ഭോജനാർഥം മിലിതാനാം യുഷ്മാകമ് ഏകേനേതരോഽനുഗൃഹ്യതാം|
34 But if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, lest your coming together be for judgment. The rest I will set in order whenever I come.
യശ്ച ബുഭുക്ഷിതഃ സ സ്വഗൃഹേ ഭുങ്ക്താം| ദണ്ഡപ്രാപ്തയേ യുഷ്മാഭി ർന സമാഗമ്യതാം| ഏതദ്ഭിന്നം യദ് ആദേഷ്ടവ്യം തദ് യുഷ്മത്സമീപാഗമനകാലേ മയാദേക്ഷ്യതേ|
