Job 19
1 Then Job answered and said,
Respondeu porém Job, e disse:
2 How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
Até quando entristecereis a minha alma, e me quebrantareis com palavras?
3 These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed [that] ye make yourselves strange to me.
Já dez vezes me envergonhastes; vergonha não tendes: contra mim vos endureceis.
4 And be it indeed [that] I have erred, my error remaineth with myself.
Embora haja eu, na verdade, errado, comigo ficará o meu erro.
5 If indeed ye will magnify [yourselves] against me, and plead against me my reproach:
Se devéras vos levantaes contra mim, e me arguis com o meu opprobrio,
6 Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath encompassed me with his net.
Sabei agora que Deus é o que me transtornou, e com a sua rede me cercou.
7 Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but [there is] no judgment.
Eis que clamo: Violencia; porém não sou ouvido; grito: Soccorro; porém não ha justiça.
8 He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.
O meu caminho entrincheirou, e já não posso passar, e nas minhas veredas poz trevas.
9 He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown [from] my head.
Da minha honra me despojou; e tirou-me a corôa da minha cabeça.
10 He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and my hope hath he removed like a tree.
Derribou-me elle em roda, e eu me vou, e arrancou a minha esperança, como a uma arvore.
11 He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me to him as [one of] his enemies.
E fez inflammar contrar mim a sua ira, e me reputou para comsigo, como a seus inimigos.
12 His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp around my tabernacle.
Juntas vieram as suas tropas, e prepararam contra mim o seu caminho, e se acamparam ao redor da minha tenda.
13 He hath put my brethren far from me, and my acquaintance are verily estranged from me.
Poz longe de mim a meus irmãos, e os que me conhecem devéras me estranharam.
14 My kinsmen have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
Os meus parentes me deixaram, e os meus conhecidos se esqueceram de mim.
15 They that dwell in my house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.
Os meus domesticos e as minhas servas me reputaram como um estranho, e vim a ser um estrangeiro aos seus olhos.
16 I called my servant, and he gave [me] no answer; I entreated him with my mouth.
Chamei a meu creado, e elle me não respondeu, supplicando-lhe eu por minha propria bocca.
17 My breath is strange to my wife, though I entreated for the children's [sake] of my own body.
O meu bafo se fez estranho a minha mulher, e eu a supplico pelos filhos do meu corpo.
18 Yes, young children despised me; I arose, and they spoke against me.
Até os rapazes me desprezam, e, levantando-me eu, fallam contra mim.
19 All my intimate friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
Todos os homens do meu secreto conselho me abominam, e até os que eu amava se tornaram contra mim.
20 My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I have escaped with the skin of my teeth.
Os meus ossos se apegaram á minha pelle e á minha carne, e escapei só com a pelle dos meus dentes.
21 Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.
Compadecei-vos de mim, amigos meus, compadecei-vos de mim, porque a mão de Deus me tocou.
22 Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?
Porque me perseguis assim como Deus, e da minha carne vos não fartaes?
23 Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
Quem me déra agora, que as minhas palavras se escrevessem! quem me dera, que se gravassem n'um livro!
24 That they were graven with an iron pen in lead, in the rock for ever!
E que, com penna de ferro, e com chumbo, para sempre fossem esculpidas na rocha!
25 For I know [that] my redeemer liveth, and [that] he will stand at the latter [day] upon the earth:
Porque eu sei que o meu Redemptor vive, e que estará em pé no derradeiro dia sobre o pó.
26 And [though] after my skin [worms] destroy this [body], yet in my flesh shall I see God:
E depois de roida a minha pelle, comtudo desde a minha carne verei a Deus,
27 Whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another; [though] my reins be consumed within me.
A quem eu verei por mim mesmo, e os meus olhos o verão, e não outro: e por isso os meus rins se consomem no meu seio.
28 But ye would say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
Na verdade, que devieis dizer: Porque o perseguimos? Pois a raiz da accusação se acha em mim.
29 Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath [bringeth] the punishments of the sword, that ye may know [there] is a judgment.
Temei vós mesmos a espada; porque o furor traz os castigos da espada, para saberdes que haverá um juizo.
