Proverbs 8
1 Does not Wisdom call out? Does not Understanding raise her voice?
Ropar icke visheten, och klokheten låter sig höra?
2 On the hilltops beside the road, at the crossroads, Wisdom has taken her stand.
Uppenbara på vägen, och på stråtene står hon;
3 Before the gates at the entrance into the city, at the entrances into the city, she calls out.
Vid stadsportarna, der man ingår, ropar hon;
4 “It is to you, people, that I call; my voice is for the sons of mankind.
O! I män, jag ropar till eder; och ropar till folket.
5 You who are naive, learn wisdom; and you who are foolish, you must get an understanding mind.
Akter, I oförnuftige, uppå vishet, och I dårar, lägger det på hjertat.
6 Listen, because I will speak of noble things, and when my lips open I will say upright things.
Hörer, ty jag vill tala det märkeligit är, och lära det rätt är.
7 For my mouth speaks what is trustworthy, and wickedness is disgusting to my lips.
Ty min mun skall tala sanningen, och mina läppar skola hata det ogudaktigt är.
8 All the words of my mouth are just; in them is nothing twisted or misleading.
All mins muns tal är rätt; der är intet vrångt eller falskt inne;
9 All of them are straight for the person who understands; my words are upright for those who find knowledge.
De äro all klar dem som förstå dem, och rätt dem som vilja anamma dem.
10 Acquire my instruction rather than silver; acquire knowledge rather than pure gold.
Tager vid min tuktan heldre än silfver, och akter lärdom högre än kosteligit guld.
11 For Wisdom is better than jewels; no treasure is equal to her.
Ty vishet är bättre än perlor, och allt det man önska må, kan intet liknas henne.
12 I, Wisdom, live with Prudence, and I possess knowledge and discretion.
Jag, vishet, bor när klokhetene, och jag kan gifva god råd.
13 The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil. I hate pride and arrogance, the evil way, and perverted speech. I hate them.
Herrans fruktan hatar det arga, högfärd, högmod och ondan väg; och jag kan icke lida en vrångan mun.
14 I have good advice and sound wisdom; I am insight; strength belongs to me.
Mitt är både råd och dåd; jag hafver förstånd och magt;
15 By me kings reign, and rulers make laws that are just.
Genom mig regera Konungarna, och rådherrarna stadga rätthet.
16 By me princes rule, nobles, and all who govern with justice.
Genom mig råda Förstarna, regenter och alle domare på jordene.
17 I love those who love me, and those who diligently seek me, find me.
Jag älskar dem som mig älska; och de som mig bittida söka, de finna mig.
18 With me are riches and honor, lasting wealth and righteousness.
Rikedom och ära är när mig, varaktigt gods och rättfärdighet.
19 My fruit is better than gold, even fine gold; my produce is better than pure silver.
Min frukt är bättre än guld och fint guld, och min tilldrägt bättre än utkoradt silfver.
20 I walk in the path of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice.
Jag vandrar på rätta vägen, på domsens stigar;
21 As a result, I make those who love me inherit wealth; I fill up their treasuries.
Att jag skall väl besörja dem som mig älska, och uppfylla deras håfvor.
22 Yahweh created me at the beginning, the first of his deeds then.
Herren hafver haft mig i sina vägars begynnelse; förr hans gerningar var jag.
23 In ages long ago I was made—from the first, from the beginnings of the earth.
Jag är insatt af evighet, af begynnelsen, förr jordena.
24 Before there were oceans, I was given birth— before there were springs abounding with water.
Då djupen ännu intet voro, då var jag allaredo beredd; då källorna icke ännu runno med vatten.
25 Before the mountains were settled and before the hills, I was born.
Förr än bergen grundad voro, förr än högarna, var jag beredd.
26 I was born before Yahweh had made the earth or the fields, or even the first dust in the world.
Han hade icke ännu gjort jordena, och hvad derpå är, eller jordenes berg.
27 I was there when he established the heavens, when he drew a circle on the surface of the deep.
Då han beredde himmelen, var jag der; då han fattade djupen med sitt mål;
28 I was there when he established the clouds above and when the springs in the deep became fixed.
Då han befäste skyarna ofvantill; då han befäste djupsens källor;
29 I was there when he made his limit for the sea, so the waters should not spread beyond his command, and when there was set the limit for the foundations of the dry land.
Då han satte hafvena sitt mål, och vattnena, att de icke skulle gå öfver sina befallning; då han lade jordenes grund;
30 I was beside him, as a skilled craftsman; I was his delight day after day, always rejoicing before him.
Då var jag verkandes med honom, och hade mina lust dagliga, och spelade för honom alltid;
31 I was rejoicing in his whole world, and my delight was in the sons of mankind.
Och spelade på hans jords krets, och min lust var med menniskors barn.
32 Now, my sons, listen to me, for those who keep my ways will be blessed.
Så hörer mig nu, min barn; salige äro de som min väg behålla.
33 Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not neglect it.
Hörer tuktan, och varer vise, och låter icke fara henne.
34 The one who listens to me will be blessed. He will be watching every day at my doors, waiting beside the posts of my doors.
Säll är den menniska, som mig hörer, så att han vakar vid mina dörr dagliga, att han vaktar vid min dörrträ.
35 For whoever finds me, finds life, and he will find the favor of Yahweh.
Den mig finner, han finner lifvet, och skall få behag af Herranom.
36 But he who fails, harms his own life; all who hate me love death.”
Men den som syndar emot mig, han skadar sina själ; alle de mig hata, de älska döden.
