Nahum 3
1 Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and rapine; the prey departeth not.
¡Ay de la ciudad de sangre, toda llena de mentira y de rapiña, no se aparta de ella el robo!
2 The noise of the whip, and the noise of the rattling of wheels; and pransing horses, and jumping chariots;
Sonido de látigo, y estruendo de movimiento de ruedas; y caballo atropellador, y carro saltador se oirá en ti;
3 the horseman mounting, and the flashing sword, and the glittering spear; and a multitude of slain, and a great heap of carcases: and there is none end of the corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:
Caballero enhiesto, y resplandor de espada, y resplandor de lanza; y multitud de muertos, y multitud de cadáveres; y de sus cadáveres no habrá fin, y en sus cadáveres tropezarán:
4 because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the well favoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.
A causa de la multitud de las fornicaciones de la ramera de hermosa gracia, maestra de hechizos, que vende en esclavitud los gentiles con sus fornicaciones, y a los pueblos con sus hechizos.
5 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face; and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
Heme aquí contra ti, dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, y descubriré tus faldas en tu cara, y mostraré a los gentiles tu desnudez, y a los reinos tu vergüenza.
6 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.
Y echaré sobre ti suciedades, y te afrentaré, y te pondré como estiércol.
7 And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
Y será que todos los que te vieren, se apartarán de ti, y dirán: Nínive es asolada; ¿quién se compadecerá de ella? ¿Dónde te buscaré consoladores?
8 Art thou better than No-amon, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about her; whose rampart was the sea, [and] her wall was of the sea?
¿Eres tú mejor que No-amón, que estaba asentada entre ríos, cercada de aguas, cuyo baluarte era el mar, y de mar su muralla?
9 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.
Etiopía era su fortaleza, y Egipto sin límite; Fut y Libia fueron en tu ayuda.
10 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
También ella fue llevada en cautiverio; también sus chiquitos fueron estrellados en las encrucijadas de todas las calles; y sobre sus honrados echaron suertes, y todos sus nobles fueron aprisionados con grillos.
11 Thou also shalt be drunken, thou shalt be hid; thou also shalt seek a strong hold because of the enemy.
Tú también serás embriagada, serás encerrada; tú también buscarás fortaleza a causa del enemigo.
12 All thy fortresses shall be [like] fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they fall into the mouth of the eater.
Todas tus fortalezas son como higueras con brevas; que si las sacuden, caen en la boca del que las ha de comer.
13 Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are women; the gates of thy land are set wide open unto thine enemies: the fire hath devoured thy bars.
He aquí, tu pueblo será como mujeres en medio de ti; las puertas de tu tierra se abrirán de par en par a tus enemigos; fuego consumirá tus barras.
14 Draw thee water for the siege, strengthen thy fortresses: go into the clay, and tread the mortar, make strong the brickkiln.
Provéete de agua para el cerco, fortifica tus fortalezas; entra en el lodo, pisa el barro, fortifica el horno.
15 There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall devour thee like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locust.
Allí te consumirá el fuego, te talará la espada, te devorará como pulgón; multiplícate como langosta, multiplícate como langosta.
16 Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and flieth away.
Multiplicaste tus mercaderes más que las estrellas del cielo; el pulgón hizo presa, y voló.
17 Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy marshals as the swarms of grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
Tus príncipes serán como langostas, y tus grandes como langostas de langostas que se sientan en vallados en día de frío; salido el sol se mudan, y no se conoce el lugar donde estuvieron.
18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy worthies are at rest: thy people are scattered upon the mountains, and there is none to gather them.
Durmieron tus pastores, oh rey de Asiria, reposaron tus valientes; tu pueblo se derramó por los montes, y no hay quien lo junte.
19 There is no assuaging of thy hurt; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee clap the hands over thee; for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?
No hay cura para tu quebradura; tu herida se encrudeció; todos los que oyeron tu fama, batirán las manos sobre ti, porque ¿sobre quién no pasó continuamente tu malicia?
