< Haggai 1 >

1 In the second year of Darius the king, on the first day of the sixth month, this message from the Lord came through Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest:
Tamy taom-paha-roe’ i Dariavese mpanjakay, amy volam-paha-eneñey, amy valoha’ i volañey, le niheo amy Zerobabele ana’ i Sealtiele mpifehe’ Iehodà naho am’ Iehosoa ana’ Iehotsadake mpisorombey ty tsara’ Iehovà añamy Kagày mpitokiy, nanao ty ti-hoe:
2 The Lord of hosts says: The people say that the time has not yet come to rebuild the temple of the Lord.
Hoe ty nafè’ Iehovà’ i Màroy, Manao ty hoe ondaty retoañe, Mboe tsy tondroke i àndroy, ty andro hamboareñe ty anjomba’ Iehovà.
3 Then this message from the Lord came to Haggai the prophet:
Niheo eo amy zao añamy Kagày mpitokiy ty tsara’ Iehovà nanao ty hoe:
4 Is it a time for you yourselves to live in your own well-roofed houses, while this temple lies in ruins?
Sam-piagaregaña’ areo amo akiba’ areo soa tinemetseo hao henaneo, ie mangoakoake ty anjomba toy?
5 The Lord of hosts says: Consider your past experiences.
Aa le hoe ty nafè’ Iehovà’ i màroy, Itsakoreo o sata’ areoo:
6 You sow much, but bring in little; you eat, but you do not have enough; you drink, but are not filled; you clothe yourselves, but not enough to be warm; and those who earn wages, put those wages in a bag with holes.
Bey ty tinongi’ areo fa kede ty nivokareñe; mikama fe tsy ànjañe; minoñe fe tsy etsake; misikiñe fe tsy mafana; vaho mandrambe tambe an-koroñe loadoake ty mpitoroñe.
7 The Lord of hosts says: Consider your experiences.
Hoe ty nafè’ Iehovà’ i Màroy, Vetsevetseo o sata’ areoo.
8 Go up to the mountains, and bring wood and rebuild the temple; then I will be pleased with it, and I will reveal my glory. The Lord says:
Mionjona mb’amy vohitsey mb’eo naho añandeso hatae le amboaro i anjombay hahafale ahy, hahazoako engeñe, hoe t’Iehovà.
9 You looked for much, and it came to little; and when you brought the harvest home, I blew it away. Why? The Lord of hosts says: Because my temple lies in ruins, while you shelter in your own houses.
Mipay maro nahareo fe tsy ampeampe ty oniñe; ie endese’ areo moly le tiofeko añe. Akore arè? hoe t’Iehovà’ i Màroy: Toe napoke ho kòake i kivohokoy, ie songa milay mb’añ’akiba’e mb’eo.
10 The heavens withhold the dew, and the earth withholds its fruit,
Toe ie ty añajà’ i likerañey zono, naho itambozora’ i taney havokarañe.
11 and I have called forth a drought upon the land and upon the mountains, and upon the grain and the new wine and the oil and upon that which the ground brings forth, and upon people and animals, and upon all the labor of your hands.
Nitokavako hasalikoañe ty tane toy naho o vohitseo naho o vare-boleo naho o divaio naho o menakeo naho o famokara’ ty tane toio, naho ondatio naho o hareo vaho ze fonga fitoloñam-pitàñe.
12 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Joshua the son of Jehozadak the high priest, with all the rest of the people, obeyed the command of the Lord their God and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him to them. They showed proper respect for the Lord.
Aa le jinanji’ i Zerobabele, ana’ i Sealtiele, naho Iehosoa, ana’ Iehotsadake, mpisorom-bey, naho ze sehanga’ ondaty iaby ty fiarañanaña’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ iareo naho o tsara naboa’ i Kagày mpitoky, namantoha’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ iareoo, vaho nañeveñe am’ Iehovà ondatio.
13 Haggai, the prophet of the Lord, as the Lord commanded him, told the people: ‘The Lord says: I am with you.’
Le nitaroñe’ i Kagày ira’ Iehovà am’ ondatio ty nafe’ Iehovà: Ama’ areo raho, hoe t’Iehovà.
14 And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak the high priest, and the spirit of all the rest of the people, so that they came and worked on the temple of the Lord of hosts, their God,
Nitroboe’ Iehovà amy zao ty arofo’ i Zerobabele, ana’ i Sealtiele, mpifele’ Iehodà naho ty arofo’ Iehosoa, ana’ Iehotsadake, mpisorom-bey naho o tro’ ondaty sehanga’e iabio, Vaho niheo mb’eo nitoloñe amy anjomba’ Iehovà’ i Màroy, Andrianañahare’ iareoy,
15 in the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month. In the second year of Darius the king,
amy andro faha-roapolo-efats-ambi’ i volam-pah-ene’ i taom-paharoe’ i Dariavese mpanjakaiy.
