2 Timothy 4
1 I charge thee before God, and Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom;
Je te somme devant Dieu, et devant le Seigneur Jésus-Christ, qui doit juger les vivants et les morts, en son apparition et en son règne.
2 preach the word, be urgent in season, out of season, confute, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and teaching.
Prêche la parole, insiste dans toutes les occasions; reprends, censure, exhorte avec toute douceur d'esprit, et avec doctrine.
3 For the time will come, when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own desires will they heap to themselves teachers; because they have itching ears;
Car le temps viendra auquel ils ne souffriront point la saine doctrine, mais aimant qu'on leur chatouille les oreilles, [par des discours agréables] ils chercheront des Docteurs qui répondent à leurs désirs.
4 and they will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables.
Et ils détourneront leurs oreilles de la vérité, et se tourneront aux fables.
5 But be thou watchful in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fully accomplish thy ministry.
Mais toi, veille en toutes choses, souffre les afflictions, fais l'œuvre d'un Evangéliste, rends ton Ministère pleinement approuvé.
6 For I am already about to be offered as a sacrifice, and the time of my departure is at hand.
Car pour moi, je m'en vais maintenant être mis pour l'aspersion du sacrifice, et le temps de mon départ est proche.
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith;
J'ai combattu le bon combat, j'ai achevé la course, j'ai gardé la foi.
8 henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me at that day, and not to me only, but to all those who have loved his appearing.
Au reste, la couronne de justice m'est réservée, et le Seigneur, juste juge, me la rendra en cette journée-là, et non seulement à moi, mais aussi à tous ceux qui auront aimé son apparition.
9 Use diligence to come to me shortly.
Hâte-toi de venir bientôt vers moi.
10 For Demas forsook me, because he loved the present world, and went to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. (aiōn g165)
Car Démas m'a abandonné, ayant aimé le présent siècle, et il s'en est allé à Thessalonique; Crescens est allé en Galatie; [et] Tite en Dalmatie. (aiōn g165)
11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee; for he is useful to me for the ministry.
Luc est seul avec moi; prends Marc, et amène-le avec toi: car il m'est fort utile pour le Ministère.
12 But Tychicus I sent to Ephesus.
J'ai aussi envoyé Tychique à Ephèse.
13 The cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest bring with thee, and the books, especially the parchments.
Quand tu viendras apporte avec toi le manteau que j'ai laissé à Troas, chez Carpus, et les Livres aussi; mais principalement mes parchemins.
14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil; the Lord will reward him according to his works;
Alexandre le forgeron m'a fait beaucoup de maux, le Seigneur lui rendra selon ses œuvres.
15 of whom do thou also beware; for he hath greatly withstood our words.
Garde-toi donc de lui, car il s'est fort opposé à nos paroles.
16 At my first defence no one came forward with me, but all forsook me. May it not be laid to their charge!
Personne ne m'a assisté dans ma première défense, mais tous m'ont abandonné; [toutefois] que cela ne leur soit point imputé!
17 But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that the preaching might be fully accomplished by me, and that all the gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the lion's mouth.
Mais le Seigneur m'a assisté, et fortifié, afin que ma prédication fût rendue pleinement approuvée, et que tous les Gentils l'ouïssent; et j'ai été délivré de la gueule du Lion.
18 The Lord will deliver me from every evil deed, and preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom; to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Le Seigneur aussi me délivrera de toute mauvaise œuvre, et me sauvera dans son Royaume céleste. A lui [soit] gloire aux siècles des siècles, Amen! (aiōn g165)
19 Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.
Salue Prisce et Aquilas, et la famille d'Onésiphore.
20 Erastus remained at Corinth, but Trophimus I left at Miletus sick.
Eraste est demeuré à Corinthe, et j'ai laissé Trophime malade à Milet.
21 Use diligence to come before winter. Eubulus saluteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.
Hâte-toi de venir avant l'hiver. Eubulus et Pudens, et Linus, et Claudia, et tous les frères, te saluent.
22 The Lord be with thy spirit. Grace be with you.
Le Seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec ton esprit. Que la grâce soit avec vous, Amen!
