John 2
1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
Al tercer día, hubo una boda en Caná de Galilea. La madre de Jesús estaba allí.
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
También Jesús fue invitado, con sus discípulos, a la boda.
3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
Cuando se acabó el vino, la madre de Jesús le dijo: “No tienen vino”.
4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
Jesús le dijo: “Mujer, ¿qué tiene que ver eso contigo y conmigo? Todavía no ha llegado mi hora”.
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do [it].
Su madre dijo a los criados: “Haced lo que os diga”.
6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
Habían allí seis vasijas de piedra, colocadas según la costumbre judía de purificación, y en cada una cabían dos o tres metretas.
7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
Jesús les dijo: “Llenen de agua las tinajas”. Así que las llenaron hasta el borde.
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare [it].
Les dijo: “Sacad ahora un poco y llevadlo al jefe de la fiesta.” Así que lo llevaron.
9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew; ) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
Cuando el dueño del banquete probó el agua convertida en vino, y no sabía de dónde procedía (pero los criados que habían sacado el agua sí lo sabían), el dueño del banquete llamó al novio
10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: [but] thou hast kept the good wine until now.
y le dijo: “Todos sirven primero el vino bueno, y cuando los invitados hayan bebido libremente, entonces el que es peor. ¡Tú has guardado el vino bueno hasta ahora!”
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
Este principio de sus milagros lo hizo Jesús en Caná de Galilea, y reveló su gloria; y sus discípulos creyeron en él.
12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.
Después de esto, bajó a Capernaúm, él y su madre, sus hermanos y sus discípulos; y se quedaron allí unos días.
13 And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,
Se acercaba la Pascua de los judíos, y Jesús subió a Jerusalén.
14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
Encontró en el templo a los que vendían bueyes, ovejas y palomas, y a los cambistas sentados.
15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;
Hizo un látigo de cuerdas y expulsó a todos del templo, tanto a las ovejas como a los bueyes; y a los cambistas les desparramó el dinero y derribó sus mesas.
16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.
A los que vendían las palomas les dijo: “¡Sacad esto de aquí! No hagáis de la casa de mi Padre un mercado”.
17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
Sus discípulos recordaron que estaba escrito: “El celo por tu casa me consumirá”.
18 Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
Los judíos le respondieron: “¿Qué señal nos muestras, ya que haces estas cosas?”
19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
Jesús les respondió: “Destruid este templo y en tres días lo levantaré”.
20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
Los judíos, por tanto, dijeron: “¡Se necesitaron cuarenta y seis años para construir este templo! ¿Lo levantarás en tres días?”
21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
Pero él hablaba del templo de su cuerpo.
22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
Por eso, cuando resucitó de entre los muertos, sus discípulos se acordaron de que había dicho esto, y creyeron en la Escritura y en la palabra que Jesús había dicho.
23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast [day], many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
Estando en Jerusalén en la Pascua, durante la fiesta, muchos creyeron en su nombre, observando las señales que hacía.
24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all [men],
Pero Jesús no se confiaba de ellos, porque conocía a todos,
25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
y porque no necesitaba que nadie diera testimonio acerca del hombre, pues él mismo sabía lo que había en el hombre.
