Psalms 79
1 A Psalme committed to Asaph. O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance: thine holy Temple haue they defiled, and made Ierusalem heapes of stones.
Ein Psalm Assaphs. HERR, es sind Heiden in dein Erbe gefallen, die haben deinen heiligen Tempel verunreiniget und aus Jerusalem Steinhaufen gemacht.
2 The dead bodies of thy seruats haue they giuen to be meat vnto foules of ye heauen: and the flesh of thy Saintes vnto the beastes of the earth.
Sie haben die Leichname deiner Knechte den Vögeln unter dem Himmel zu fressen gegeben und das Fleisch deiner Heiligen den Tieren im Lande.
3 Their blood haue they shead like waters rounde about Ierusalem, and there was none to burie them.
Sie haben Blut vergossen um Jerusalem her wie Wasser; und war niemand, der begrub.
4 Wee are a reproche to our neighbours, euen a scorne and derision vnto them that are round about vs.
Wir sind unsern Nachbarn eine Schmach worden, ein Spott und Hohn denen, die um uns sind.
5 Lord, howe long wilt thou be angrie, for euer? shall thy gelousie burne like fire?
HERR, wie lange willst du so gar zürnen und deinen Eifer wie Feuer brennen lassen?
6 Powre out thy wrath vpon the heathen that haue not knowen thee, and vpon the kingdomes that haue not called vpon thy Name.
Schütte deinen Grimm auf die Heiden, die dich nicht kennen, und auf die Königreiche, die deinen Namen nicht anrufen.
7 For they haue deuoured Iaakob and made his dwelling place desolate.
Denn sie haben Jakob aufgefressen und seine Häuser verwüstet.
8 Remember not against vs the former iniquities, but make haste and let thy tender mercies preuent vs: for we are in great miserie.
Gedenke nicht unserer vorigen Missetat; erbarm dich unser bald, denn wir sind fast dünne worden.
9 Helpe vs, O God of our saluation, for the glorie of thy Name, and deliuer vs, and be mercifull vnto our sinnes for thy Names sake.
Hilf du uns, Gott, unser Helfer, um deines Namens Ehre willen; errette uns und vergib uns unsere Sünde um deines Namens willen!
10 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be knowen among the heathen in our sight by the vengeance of the blood of thy seruants that is shed.
Warum lässest du die Heiden sagen: Wo ist nun ihr Gott? Laß unter den Heiden vor unsern Augen kund werden die Rache des Bluts deiner Knechte, das vergossen ist.
11 Let the sighing of the prisoners come before thee: according to thy mightie arme preserue the children of death,
Laß vor dich kommen das Seufzen der Gefangenen; nach deinem großen Arm behalte die Kinder des Todes.
12 And render to our neighbours seuen folde into their bosome their reproche, wherewith they haue reproched thee, O Lord.
Und vergilt unsern Nachbarn siebenfältig in ihren Busen ihre Schmach, damit sie dich, HERR, geschmähet haben.
13 So wee thy people, and sheepe of thy pasture shall praise thee for euer: and from generation to generation we will set foorth thy praise.
Wir aber, dein Volk und Schafe deiner Weide, danken dir ewiglich und verkündigen deinen Ruhm für und für.
