Psalms 50
1 A psalm of Asaph. The Lord, the Almighty God, speaks! He summons everyone on earth, from the east to the west.
Psaume d'Asaph. Le Dieu fort, Dieu, l'Éternel, a parlé: il a convoqué la terre, Du soleil levant au soleil couchant.
2 God shines out of Mount Zion, perfect in beauty.
De Sion, parfaite en beauté, Dieu fait rayonner sa splendeur.
3 Our God arrives, and does not stay quiet. Fire flames before him, burning everything up; a violent storm rages around him.
Il vient, notre Dieu, et il ne se tait point; Devant lui est un feu dévorant. Autour de lui une tempête furieuse.
4 He summons the heavens above and the earth to witness the judgment of his people.
Il convoque les cieux d'en haut. Ainsi que la terre, pour juger son peuple:
5 “Bring me those who trust in me—those who confirmed the agreement with me through sacrifice.”
«Rassemblez-moi mes fidèles, Qui ont scellé leur alliance avec moi par un sacrifice»
6 The heavens declare his decisions are right, for God himself is the judge. (Selah)
Et les cieux proclament sa justice; Car c'est Dieu lui-même qui va juger! (Pause)
7 “My people, listen to what I have to say. I am bringing charges against you, Israel. I am God, your God!
Écoute, ô mon peuple, et je parlerai. Écoute, ô Israël! Je te ferai entendre mes avertissements: Je suis Dieu, ton Dieu.
8 I'm not complaining about your sacrifices or burnt offerings that you offer all the time.
Ce n'est pas pour tes sacrifices que je te ferai des reproches, Ni pour tes holocaustes, qui sont continuellement devant moi.
9 I do not require bulls from your barns or goats from your pens,
Je ne prendrai point de taureau dans ta maison, Ni de bouc dans tes bergeries;
10 for I own all the animals of the forest, and the cattle on a thousand hills belong to me.
Car c'est à moi qu'appartiennent tous les animaux des forêts. Ainsi que les bêtes des montagnes, par milliers.
11 I know every bird of the mountains; all living things in the fields are mine.
Je connais tous les oiseaux des montagnes, Et tout ce qui se meut dans les champs m'appartient.
12 If I were hungry, I wouldn't tell you, for the earth and everything in it are mine.
Si j'avais faim, je ne t'en dirais rien; Car à moi est le monde et tout ce qu'il renferme.
13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
Ai-je besoin de manger la chair des taureaux, Ou de boire le sang des boucs?
14 Give an offering of thanks to God; keep the promises you made to the Most High,
Pour sacrifice, offre à Dieu tes louanges, Et accomplis tes voeux envers le Très-Haut!
15 and call on me when you're in trouble. I will rescue you, and you will thank me.”
Puis, invoque-moi au jour de la détresse: Je te délivrerai, et tu me glorifieras.
16 But to the wicked God says, “What's the point of mechanically repeating my laws or making empty promises about obeying the agreement?
Mais Dieu dit au méchant: «A quoi bon réciter mes commandements Et célébrer des lèvres mon alliance,
17 You hate my discipline, and you toss my words away, leaving them behind you.
Quand tu hais la réprimande Et quand tu repousses mes paroles loin de toi?
18 When you see people stealing, you admire them; you associate with adulterers.
Lorsque tu vois un voleur, tu te plais avec lui; Tu fais cause commune avec les adultères.
19 With your mouth you say evil things; you use your tongue to spread lies.
Tu livres ta bouche à la calomnie, Et ta langue ourdit la fraude.
20 You sit there and speak against your brother, slandering your own mother's son.
Tu t'assieds et tu parles contre ton frère; Tu diffames le fils de ta mère.
21 I kept quiet when you did these things. You thought I was someone just like you. But now I confront you, and bring my charges against you.
Voilà ce que tu as fait; et parce que j'ai gardé le silence, Tu t'es imaginé que j'étais pareil à toi! Je vais te reprendre et mettre ton iniquité sous tes yeux.»
22 Think again, you people who dismiss God, or I will tear you apart, and no-one will be able to save you.
Comprenez donc cela, vous qui oubliez Dieu, De peur que je ne vous mette en pièces. Sans que personne puisse vous délivrer!
23 But those who give an offering of thanks honor me, and to those who follow the right I will show them the salvation of God.”
Celui qui offre pour sacrifice la louange, me glorifie; Et à celui qui veille sur sa conduite Je ferai contempler le salut de Dieu.
