< 1 Timote 2 >

1 Lamma cyk awh, qeen thoehnaak, cykcahnaak, thlaktlo aham cykcahnaak ingkaw thlang boeih aham zeelawi kqawnnaak ce,
I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings, be made for all men;
2 ningnih ing qoep ang quinaak ing ngaihqep caana Khawsa kqihnaak ing ak ciim cana ni awmnaak thai ham, sangpahrangkhqi ingkaw saithainaak ak takhqi ham nami taak peek aham thoeh law nyng.
for kings and all that are in high place; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and gravity.
3 Cetaw anik thaawngkung Khawsa poeknaak awh leek soeih nawh, ym ham tyyng soeih hy.
This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Anih ing thlang boeih hulna a awm thainaak ham ingkaw awitak cyihnaak benna law aham ngaih hy.
who willeth that all men should be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth.
5 Ikawtih Khawsa pynoet awm nawh Khawsa ingkaw thlanghqing anglakawh dyihthing pynoet doeng awm nawh, cetaw thlanghqing, Jesu Khrih,
For there is one God, one mediator also between God and men, [himself] man, Christ Jesus,
6 thlang boeih boeih hulnaak hamna ak pee qu ing: cece amah a tym awh simsakna a awm ham tyyng ni.
who gave himself a ransom for all; the testimony [to be borne] in its own times;
7 Ce hamna ak khypyikung ingkaw ceityihna tykna kak awm ni; (awitak kqawn nyng, ka qaai ap kqawn nyng; ) cangnaak ingkaw awitak awh Gentelkhqi ak cawngpyikung na awm nyng.
whereunto I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I speak the truth, I lie not), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
8 Kawsonaak ingkaw oelh qunaak a taak kaana pakhqi ing ami kut ak ciim ce soeng unawh amik cykcah aham ngaih nyng.
I desire therefore that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputing.
9 Nukhqi ingawm ak boe ngai na thoeih ang cam qu unawh, a cyp a myih ing khaw sak doena, lusam tum nawh sui ing aw pale ing aw angki hinaak a phu ak tlo tlo ing aw thoeihcam qu aham am ngaih nyng.
In like manner, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefastness and sobriety; not with braided hair, and gold or pearls or costly raiment;
10 Cehlai them leek sainaak ing, a cyp amyihna nu ing Khawsa a bawk aham awm hy.
but (which becometh women professing godliness) through good works.
11 Nu ing a awm dym doena awi ngainaak ing a cawng aham awm hy.
Let a woman learn in quietness with all subjection.
12 Nu ing cawngpyi aham ingkaw pa ak khanawh saithainaak taak aham am ngaih nyng; a awm dym aham awm hy.
But I permit not a woman to teach, nor to have dominion over a man, but to be in quietness.
13 Ikawtih Adam ni sai maana a awm, cekcoengawh ni Evi ce sai na a awm hy.
For Adam was first formed, then Eve;
14 Cekcoengawh Adam ve thainaak na am awm nawh; nu ni thainaak na awm nawh thawlhnaak awh ang tluuk hy.
and Adam was not beguiled, but the woman being beguiled hath fallen into transgression:
15 Cehlai cangnaak, lungnaak ingkaw ciimcaihnaak ta nawh, kawlung ak dyng cana a awm awhtaw ca taaknaak ak caming hulnaak ce hu kaw.
but she shall be saved through the childbearing, if they continue in faith and love and sanctification with sobriety.
