If the family of Egypt does not go up and does not come, neither will it rain on them. This will be the plague with which the LORD will strike the nations that do not go up to keep the feast of booths.

| وَإِنْ أَبَى أَهْلُ مِصْرَ الصُّعُودَ لِلاشْتِرَاكِ فِي الاحْتِفَالِ، يَحُلُّ بِهِمِ الْبَلاَءُ الَّذي يُعَاقِبُ بِهِ الرَّبُّ الأُمَمَ الَّتِي لاَ تَجِيءُ لِلاحْتِفَالِ بِعِيدِ الْمَظَالِّ. |

| וְאִם־מִשְׁפַּחַת מִצְרַיִם לֹֽא־תַעֲלֶה וְלֹא בָאָה וְלֹא עֲלֵיהֶם תִּֽהְיֶה הַמַּגֵּפָה אֲשֶׁר יִגֹּף יְהֹוָה אֶת־הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר לֹא יַעֲלוּ לָחֹג אֶת־חַג הַסֻּכּֽוֹת׃ |
| ואם משפחת מצרים לא תעלה ולא באה ולא עליהם תהיה המגפה אשר יגף יהוה את הגוים אשר לא יעלו לחג את חג הסכות׃ |

और यदि मिस्र का कुल वहाँ न आए, तो क्या उन पर वह मरी न पड़ेगी जिससे यहोवा उन जातियों को मारेगा जो झोपड़ियों का पर्व मानने के लिये न जाएँगे?
यदि मिस्र के लोग आराधना और उत्सव में भाग लेने के लिये नहीं जाएंगे, तो उनके यहां भी वर्षा न होगी. याहवेह उन पर वह महामारी लायेगा, जो वह उन जनताओं पर लाता है, जो तंबुओं का उत्सव मनाने नहीं जाते हैं.
