وَإِذْ بَكَى الشَّعْبُ لَدَى سَمَاعِهِمْ نَصَّ الشَّرِيعَةِ، خَاطَبَهُمْ نَحَمْيَا الْوَالِي وَعِزْرَا الْكَاتِبُ وَاللاَّوِيُّونَ الَّذِينَ عَلَّمُوا الشَّعْبَ قَائِلِينَ: «لاَ تَنُوحُوا وَلاَ تَبْكُوا، فَهَذَا الْيَوْمُ مُقَدَّسٌ لِلرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ»
