Wherever they went out, the LORD’s hand was against them for evil, as the LORD had spoken, and as the LORD had sworn to them; and they were very distressed.

Dans toutes leurs expéditions, la main de l’Eternel intervenait à leur désavantage, comme il l’avait annoncé, comme il le leur avait juré; ils furent ainsi réduits à la plus grande détresse.

जहाँ कहीं वे बाहर जाते वहाँ यहोवा का हाथ उनकी बुराई में लगा रहता था, जैसे यहोवा ने उनसे कहा था, वरन् यहोवा ने शपथ खाई थी; इस प्रकार वे बड़े संकट में पड़ गए।
वे जहां कहीं जाते, याहवेह का हाथ उनकी हानि ही के लिए उठा रहता था. यह सब वही था, जिसकी चेतावनी याहवेह दे चुके थे, जिसकी शपथ याहवेह ले चुके थे. इस्राएली बड़ी मुश्किल में आ पड़े थे.

Setiap kali mereka pergi bertempur, TUHAN melawan mereka, seperti yang sudah diperingatkan-Nya kepada mereka. Maka mereka mengalami kesulitan yang sangat besar.
Setiap kali mereka maju, tangan TUHAN melawan mereka dan mendatangkan malapetaka kepada mereka, sesuai dengan apa yang telah diperingatkan kepada mereka oleh TUHAN dengan sumpah, sehingga mereka sangat terdesak.
Sebagaimana sudah diperingatkan TUHAN dengan bersumpah, setiap kali Israel maju berperang, TUHAN membuat mereka kalah. Bangsa Israel pun sangat menderita.
