Judges 18:2
The children of Dan sent five men of their family from their whole number, men of valor, from Zorah and from Eshtaol, to spy out the land and to search it. They said to them, “Go, explore the land!” They came to the hill country of Ephraim, to the house of Micah, and lodged there.

अतः दान वंशजों ने अपने पूरे गोत्र की तरफ़ से पांच आदमी भेजे. ये व्यक्ति ज़ोराह तथा एशताओल नामक नगरों से थे. इन्हें वहां गुप्त रूप से जाकर भेद लेना था. उन्हें आदेश दिया गया था, “जाओ, उस देश की छानबीन करो और उसका भेद लो!” वे लोग खोजते हुए एफ्राईम के पहाड़ी इलाके में मीकाह के घर तक आ पहुंचे, और वे वहीं ठहर गए.
