They all said to each other, “Come! Let’s cast lots, that we may know who is responsible for this evil that is on us.” So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah.

तब मल्लाहों ने आपस में कहा, “आओ, हम चिट्ठी डालकर जान लें कि यह विपत्ति हम पर किसके कारण पड़ी है।” तब उन्होंने चिट्ठी डाली, और चिट्ठी योना के नाम पर निकली।
तब नाविकों ने एक दूसरे को कहा, “ऐसा करें, हम चिट्ठी डालकर यह पता करें कि किसके कारण हम पर यह विपत्ति आई है.” तब उन्होंने चिट्ठी डाली और चिट्ठी योनाह के नाम पर निकली.

Lalu berkatalah mereka satu sama lain: "Marilah kita buang undi, supaya kita mengetahui, karena siapa kita ditimpa oleh malapetaka ini." Mereka membuang undi dan Yunuslah yang kena undi.
