and have built the high places of Baal to burn their children in the fire for burnt offerings to Baal, which I did not command, nor speak, which did not even enter into my mind.

| وَبَنَوْا مُرْتَفَعَاتٍ لِعِبَادَةِ الْبَعْلِ لِيُحْرِقُوا بَنِيهِمْ بِالنَّارِ كَقَرَابِينِ مُحْرَقَاتٍ لِلْبَعْلِ مِمَّا لَمْ أُوْصِ بِهِ وَلَمْ أَتَحَدَّثْ عَنْهُ وَلَمْ يَخْطُرْ بِبَالِي. |

પોતાના દીકરાઓને અગ્નિમાં બાળીને તેઓ બઆલની આગળ દહનીયાર્પણ ચઢાવે તે માટે તેઓએ બઆલનાં ઉચ્ચસ્થાનો બાંધ્યાં છે. એવું કરવાનું મેં ફરમાવ્યું નહોતું.

और बाल की पूजा के ऊँचे स्थानों को बनाकर अपने बाल-बच्चों को बाल के लिये होम कर दिया, यद्यपि मैंने कभी भी जिसकी आज्ञा नहीं दी, न उसकी चर्चा की और न वह कभी मेरे मन में आया।
उन्होंने बाल के लिए अपने पुत्रों की होमबलि अर्पित करने के उद्देश्य से बाल के लिए पूजा-स्थल प्रतिष्ठित किए हैं. यह वह कृत्य है, जिसका मैंने उन्हें न तो आदेश दिया और न ही मैंने कभी इसका उल्लेख किया और न यह विचार ही कभी मेरे मस्तिष्क में आया.
