Jeremiah 12:5
“If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? Though in a land of peace you are secure, yet how will you do in the pride of the Jordan?

তুমি পদাতিকসকলকৰ লগত লৰ মাৰিলে, তেওঁলোকে যদি তোমাক ক্লান্ত কৰে, তেন্তে ঘোঁৰাৰ লগত লৰ মাৰি কেনেকৈ জিকিবা? আৰু যদিও তুমি শান্তিৰ দেশত নিৰাপদে থাকা, তথাপি যৰ্দ্দনৰ শোভাস্বৰূপ অৰণ্যত কি কৰিবা?
«Ey Yeremya, əgər sən piyadalarla qaçanda yoruldunsa, Atlarla necə yarışa bilərsən? Əgər əmin-amanlıq olan torpaqda büdrəsən, İordan çayının kənarındakı sıx meşədə nə edəcəksən?

Ако тичаш с пешаците, и те те изморят, Тогава как ще се надваряш с конете? И макар че в мирна страна си в безопасност, Но какво би направил в прииждането на Иордан?

Taminaw hoi yawng kâta nahai, ahnimouh ni na ta awh pawiteh, marangnaw hoi bangtelamaw na tâ thai han. Na kâuep e roumnae ram ni na tawn sak pawiteh, Jordan ratu tanghling dawk bangtelamaw na ti han vai.
耶和华说：你若与步行的人同跑， 尚且觉累， 怎能与马赛跑呢？ 你在平安之地，虽然安稳， 在约旦河边的丛林要怎样行呢？

Ako s pješacima trčeći sustaješ, kako ćeš se s konjima utrkivati? Kad ni u mirnoj zemlji nemaš uzdanja, kako ćeš onda kroz guštare jordanske?

Als u de wedloop met voetgangers afmat, Hoe houdt ge de paarden dan bij; En als ge u niet veilig voelt in een vredig land, Wat doet ge dan in het kreupelhout van de Jordaan?

Thy feet run, and they cause thee to faint; how wilt thou prepare [to ride] upon horses? and thou hast been confident in the land of thy peace? how wilt thou do in the roaring of Jordan?

The Lord says, Once you've become worn out in a foot race against men, how would you win racing against horses? If you trip up in open ground, how would you do in the tangled undergrowth beside the Jordan?

[Then to show me that I needed to be prepared to endure even greater difficulties, Yahweh said to me], [“It is as though] you have become exhausted from racing against men; so how will you be able to race against horses? If you [stumble and] fall when you are running on open/bare/smooth ground, what will happen to you when you are running through the thornbushes near the Jordan [River]?
Yahweh said, “Indeed, if you, Jeremiah, have run with foot soldiers and they have tired you out, how can you compete against horses? If you fall down in the safe countryside, how will you do in the thickets along the Jordan?
If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and [if] in the land of peace, [in which] thou hast trusted, [they wearied thee], then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

Si tu cours avec des piétons et qu’ils te fatiguent, Comment pourras-tu lutter avec des chevaux? Et si tu ne te crois en sûreté que dans une contrée paisible, Que feras-tu sur les rives orgueilleuses du Jourdain?

« Si tu cours avec des piétons et qu'ils te fatiguent, comment lutteras-tu avec des cavaliers? Et tu as de l'assurance dans un pays en paix! mais que feras-tu dans [les bois, ] l'orgueil du Jourdain?
Tes pieds courent, et te voilà énervé; comment feras-tu donc pour combattre des cavaliers et te confier dans une terre de paix? Que feras-tu contre les débordements du Jourdain?
Si, luttant de vitesse avec des piétons, ils arrivent à te fatiguer, comment rivaliserais-tu avec des coursiers? Si tu te sens en sûreté sur un sol paisible, que feras-tu dans les massifs du Jourdain?
"Wirst du im Wettlauf mit den Fußgängern schon müde, wie wolltest du mit Rennpferden Wettrennen? Bist du im sichern Land schon ängstlich, was tust du erst im Jordandickicht?
Wenn du mit Fußgängern liefest, und sie dich ermüdeten, wie wolltest du denn mit Rossen wetteifern? Und wenn du auf ein Land des Friedens dein Vertrauen setzest, wie willst du es denn machen in der Pracht des Jordan [d. h. an den üppig bewachsenen Ufern des Jordan, wo Löwen lagern; vergl. Kap. 49,19;50,44; Sach. 11,3?]
Wenn du mit Fußgängern liefest, und sie dich ermüdeten, wie wolltest du denn mit Rossen wetteifern? Und wenn du auf ein Land des Friedens dein Vertrauen setzest, wie willst du es denn machen in der Pracht des Jordan?
Wenn du mit Fußgängern läufst, und die dich schon ermüden, wie willst du da mit Rossen um die Wette laufen? - und fühlst du dich nur in friedlichem Lande sicher, wie wilst du da thun im Dickichte des Jordans?
Wenn dich die müde machen, die zu Fuße gehen, wie will dir's gehen, wenn du mit den Reitern laufen sollst? Und so du im Lande, da es Friede ist, Sicherheit suchest, was will mit dir werden bei dem hoffärtigen Jordan?

Wenn du mit Fußgängern gelaufen bist und sie dich müde gemacht haben, wie willst du dann mit Rossen um die Wette laufen? Und wenn du dich nur in einem friedsamen Lande sicher fühlst, was willst du tun im Dickicht des Jordan?

Εάν τρέξης μετά των πεζών και σε κάμωσι να ατονήσης, τότε πως θέλεις αντιπαραταχθή προς τους ίππους; και εάν απέκαμες εν τη γη της ειρήνης, εφ' ην ήλπιζες, τότε πως θέλεις κάμει εις το φρύαγμα του Ιορδάνου;
σοῦ οἱ πόδες τρέχουσιν καὶ ἐκλύουσίν σε πῶς παρασκευάσῃ ἐφ’ ἵπποις καὶ ἐν γῇ εἰρήνης σὺ πέποιθας πῶς ποιήσεις ἐν φρυάγματι τοῦ Ιορδάνου
માટે જો તું પાયદળો સાથે દોડયો અને તેઓએ તને થકવ્યો, પછી તું ઘોડાઓ સાથે શી રીતે હોડમાં ઊતરશે? જો કે તું સલામત પ્રદેશમાં નિર્ભય છે, તોપણ યર્દનના જંગલમાં તારું શું થશે?

“तू जो प्यादों ही के संग दौड़कर थक गया है तो घोड़ों के संग कैसे बराबरी कर सकेगा? और यद्यपि तू शान्ति के इस देश में निडर है, परन्तु यरदन के आस-पास के घने जंगल में तू क्या करेगा?
“यदि तुम धावकों के साथ दौड़ रहे थे और तुम इससे थक चुके हो, तो तुम घोड़ों से स्पर्धा कैसे कर सकोगे? यदि तुम अनुकूल क्षेत्र में ही लड़खड़ा गए तो, यरदन क्षेत्र के बंजर भूमि में तुम्हारा क्या होगा?
