but the dove found no place to rest her foot, and she returned into the ship to him, for the waters were on the surface of the whole earth. He put out his hand, and took her, and brought her to him into the ship.

| فَلَمْ تَجِدِ ٱلْحَمَامَةُ مَقَرًّا لِرِجْلِهَا، فَرَجَعَتْ إِلَيْهِ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ لِأَنَّ مِيَاهًا كَانَتْ عَلَى وَجْهِ كُلِّ ٱلْأَرْضِ. فَمَدَّ يَدَهُ وَأَخَذَهَا وَأَدْخَلَهَا عِنْدَهُ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ. |
| وَلَكِنَّ الْحَمَامَةَ لَمْ تَجِدْ مَوْضِعاً تَسْتَقِرُّ عَلَيْهِ رِجْلُهَا فَرَجَعَتْ إِلَيْهِ فِي الْفُلْكِ، لأَنَّ الْمِيَاهَ كَانَتْ مَازَالَتْ تَغْمُرُ سَطْحَ الأَرْضِ، فَمَدَّ يَدَهُ وَأَخَذَهَا، وَأَدْخَلَهَا عِنْدَهُ إِلَى الْفُلْكِ. |

তাতে সমস্ত পৃথিবী জলে ভরে থাকাতে ঘুঘু নামার জায়গা পেল না, তাই জাহাজে তাঁর কাছে ফিরে আসল। তখন তিনি হাত বাড়িয়ে তাকে ধরলেন ও জাহাজের ভিতরে নিজের কাছে রাখলেন।
কিন্তু পায়রাটি তার পা রাখার জায়গা পায়নি, কারণ পৃথিবীর উপরে সর্বত্র তখনও জল জমে ছিল; তাই সেটি জাহাজে নোহের কাছে ফিরে এল। তখন তিনি তাঁর হাত বাড়িয়ে পায়রাটিকে ধরে জাহাজে তাঁর নিজের কাছে ফিরিয়ে আনলেন।

και μη ευρίσκουσα η περιστερά ανάπαυσιν των ποδών αυτής, επέστρεψε προς αυτόν εις την κιβωτόν, διότι τα ύδατα ήσαν επί του προσώπου πάσης της γής· και εκτείνας την χείρα αυτού, επίασεν αυτήν και εισήγαγεν αυτήν προς εαυτόν εις την κιβωτόν.
καὶ οὐχ εὑροῦσα ἡ περιστερὰ ἀνάπαυσιν τοῖς ποσὶν αὐτῆς ὑπέστρεψεν πρὸς αὐτὸν εἰς τὴν κιβωτόν ὅτι ὕδωρ ἦν ἐπὶ παντὶ προσώπῳ πάσης τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἔλαβεν αὐτὴν καὶ εἰσήγαγεν αὐτὴν πρὸς ἑαυτὸν εἰς τὴν κιβωτόν
પણ આખી પૃથ્વી પર પાણી હોવાને લીધે કબૂતરને પોતાના પગ મૂકવાની જગ્યા મળી નહિ, તેથી તે તેની પાસે વહાણમાં પાછું આવ્યું. નૂહે પોતાનો હાથ લંબાવીને તેને પોતાની પાસે વહાણમાં લઈ લીધું.
