Genesis 47:18

| وَلَمَّا تَمَّتْ تِلْكَ ٱلسَّنَةُ أَتَوْا إِلَيْهِ فِي ٱلسَّنَةِ ٱلْثَّانِيَةِ وَقَالُوا لَهُ: «لَا نُخْفِي عَنْ سَيِّدِي أَنَّهُ إِذْ قَدْ فَرَغَتِ ٱلْفِضَّةُ، وَمَوَاشِي ٱلْبَهَائِمِ عِنْدَ سَيِّدِي، لَمْ يَبْقَ قُدَّامَ سَيِّدِي إِلَا أَجْسَادُنَا وَأَرْضُنَا. |
| وَعِنْدَمَا انْقَضَتْ تِلْكَ السَّنَةُ، أَقْبَلُوا إِلَيْهِ فِي السَّنَةِ التَّالِيَةِ قَائِلِينَ: «لاَ نُخْفِي عَنْ سَيِّدِي أَنَّ فِضَّتَنَا قَدْ نَفَدَتْ، وَأَنَّ مَوَاشِيَ الْبَهَائِمِ قَدْ أَصْبَحَتْ عِنْدَ سَيِّدِي، وَلَمْ يَبْقَ أَمَامَهُ إِلاَّ أَبْدَانُنَا وَأَرَاضِينَا، |

আর সেই বছর চলে গেলে দ্বিতীয় বছরে তারা তাঁর কাছে এসে বলল, “আমরা প্রভু থেকে কিছু গোপন করব না; আমাদের সমস্ত রূপা শেষ হয়ে গিয়েছে এবং পশুধনও প্রভুরই হয়েছে; এখন প্রভুর সামনে আর কিছুই বাকি নেই, শুধু আমাদের শরীর ও জমি আছে।
যখন সেই বছরটি শেষ হল, পরের বছরও তারা তাঁর কাছে এসে বলল, “আমরা এই তথ্যটি আমাদের প্রভুর কাছে লুকিয়ে রাখতে পারছি না যে যেহেতু আমাদের অর্থ ফুরিয়ে গিয়েছে এবং আমাদের গৃহপালিত পশুপালও আপনারই হয়ে গিয়েছে, এখন আমাদের প্রভুর জন্য আমাদের শরীর ও আমাদের জমিজায়গা ছাড়া আর কিছুই অবশিষ্ট নেই।

Lorsque cette année fut écoulée, ils vinrent à Joseph l’année suivante, et lui dirent: Nous ne cacherons point à mon seigneur que l’argent est épuisé, et que les troupeaux de bétail ont été amenés à mon seigneur; il ne reste devant mon seigneur que nos corps et nos terres.

അങ്ങനെ ആ വർഷം കഴിഞ്ഞു; അവർ പിറ്റേവർഷം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നിട്ട് ഇപ്രകാരം പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞങ്ങളുടെ പണം തീർന്നുപോകുകയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ ആടുമാടുകൾ അങ്ങയുടെ വകയായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ട് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ശരീരവും ഭൂമിയും അല്ലാതെ യജമാനനു തരാൻ മറ്റൊന്നുമില്ല. ഈ വസ്തുത യജമാനനിൽനിന്ന് മറച്ചുവെക്കാൻ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു നിവൃത്തിയില്ല.
