Genesis 19:14
Lot went out, and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters, and said, “Get up! Get out of this place, for the LORD will destroy the city!” But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be joking.

| فَمَضَى لُوطٌ وَخَاطَبَ أَصْهَارَهُ أَزْوَاجَ بَنَاتِهِ، قَائِلاً: «هَيَّا. قُومُوا وَاخْرُجُوا مِنْ هَذَا الْمَكَانِ، لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ سَيُدَمِّرُ هَذِهِ الْمَدِينَةَ». فَبَدَا كَمَازِحٍ فِي أَعْيُنِ أَصْهَارِهِ. |

তখন লোট বাইরে গিয়ে, যারা তাঁর মেয়েদেরকে বিয়ে করেছিল, নিজের সেই জামাইদেরকে বললেন, “তাড়াতাড়ি ওঠ, এ জায়গা থেকে বেরিয়ে যাও, কারণ সদাপ্রভু এই নগর ধ্বংস করবেন।” কিন্তু তাঁর জামাইরা তাঁকে উপহাসকারী বলে মনে করল।
অতএব লোট বাইরে গিয়ে তাঁর সেই জামাইদের সাথে কথা বললেন, যারা তাঁর মেয়েদের বিয়ে করার জন্য বাগ্দান করেছিল। তিনি বললেন, “তাড়াতাড়ি করো ও এখান থেকে বেরিয়ে যাও, কারণ সদাপ্রভু এই নগরটি ধ্বংস করতে চলেছেন!” কিন্তু তাঁর জামাইরা ভেবেছিল যে তিনি বুঝি ঠাট্টা করছেন।

So Lot went and spoke to the men who had pledged to marry his daughters. He said to them, “Hurry! Get out of this city, because Yahweh is about to destroy it!” But his future sons-in-law thought he was joking.
