The children of the captivity did so. Ezra the priest, with certain heads of fathers’ households, after their fathers’ houses, and all of them by their names, were set apart; and they sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.

| وَنَفَّذَ الْعَائِدُونَ مِنَ السَّبْيِ هَذَا الأَمْرَ، وَاخْتَارَ عِزْرَا الْكَاهِنُ رُؤَسَاءَ الْعَائِلاَتِ بِأَسْمَائِهِمْ وَفْقاً لِعَشَائِرِهِمْ، فَانْفَصَلُوا عَنِ الْجَمَاعَةِ وَجَلَسُوا فِي الْيَوْمِ الأَوَّلِ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ الْعَاشِرِ (مُنْتَصَفِ كَانُونِ الأَوَّلِ - دِيسَمْبَرَ) لِلْقَضَاءِ فِي الأَمْرِ. |

সেই প্রস্তাব মতো নির্বাসন থেকে আগতরা এ সমস্ত কিছু যথাযথভাবে পালন করল। যাজক ইষ্রা এবং নিজ নিজ পিতৃকুল এবং নাম অনুসারে প্রত্যেক পরিবারে প্রধানকে নিযুক্ত করলেন এবং দশম মাসের প্রথম দিনে তারা সেই বিষয়ে অনুসন্ধান করার কাজে ব্রতী হলেন।

Und die Kinder der Wegführung taten also. Und es wurden ausgesondert Esra, der Priester, und Männer, Häupter der Väter nach ihren Vaterhäusern, und zwar alle mit Namen; und sie setzten sich nieder am ersten Tage des zehnten Monats, um die Sache zu untersuchen.

Diese hielten dann am ersten Tage des zehnten Monats (ihre erste) Sitzung ab, um die Sache zu untersuchen,
