The magicians tried with their enchantments to produce lice, but they could not. There were lice on man, and on animal.

तब जादूगरों ने चाहा कि अपने तंत्र-मंत्रों के बल से हम भी कुटकियाँ ले आएँ, परन्तु यह उनसे न हो सका। और मनुष्यों और पशुओं दोनों पर कुटकियाँ बनी ही रहीं।
ऐसा ही जादू-टोना दिखाने वाले जादूगरों ने भी करने की कोशिश की, लेकिन नहीं कर पाये; तब मनुष्यों एवं पशुओं को पिस्सू ने परेशान कर दिया.

ಮಂತ್ರಗಾರರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಂತ್ರವಿದ್ಯೆಗಳಿಂದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಹೇನುಗಳನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದರೂ ಆಗದೆ ಹೋಯಿತು. ಆ ಹೇನುಗಳು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಪಶುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಇದ್ದವು.
