पण शम्मा शेताच्या ऐन मध्यावर उभा राहिला आणि त्याने एकट्याने त्यांना तोंड दिले. त्याने पलिष्ट्यांचा पराभव केला. परमेश्वराने इस्राएलाला त्यादिवशी मोठा विजय मिळवून दिला.
