2-Samuel 18:3
But the people said, “You shall not go out, for if we flee away, they will not care for us, neither if half of us die, will they care for us. But you are worth ten thousand of us. Therefore now it is better that you are ready to help us out of the city.”

| لَكِنَّ الشَّعْبَ قَالَ: «لاَ تَخْرُجْ مَعَنَا، لأَنَّنَا إِذَا انْهَزَمْنَا فَإِنَّهُمْ لاَ يُبَالُونَ بِنَا. وَإِذَا مَاتَ نِصْفُنَا فَلاَ يَكْتَرِثُونَ بِنَا أَيْضاً. أَمَّا أَنْتَ فَإِنَّكَ تُعَادِلُ عَشَرَةَ آلافٍ مِنَّا، وَمِنَ الأَفْضَلِ أَنْ تَمْكُثَ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ وَتُسْعِفَنَا بِنَجْدَةٍ إِنْ دَعَا الأَمْرُ». |
কিন্তু লোকসকলে ক’লে, “আপুনি যাব নালাগে, কিয়নো যদি আমি পলাই যাও, আমাৰ বাবে চিন্তা নকৰিব, আমাৰ অৰ্দ্ধেকলোক মৰিলেও আমাৰ বাবে চিন্তা নকৰিব৷ কিন্তু আপুনি আমাৰ দহ হাজাৰৰ সমান। এই হেতুকে আপুনি নগৰৰ পৰা আমাক সহায় কৰিবৰ অৰ্থে আপুনি যুগুত হৈ থাকিলে ভাল হ’ব।”
Lakin xalq ona dedi: «Yox, sən döyüşə çıxmayacaqsan, çünki əgər biz qaçsaq, bizə əhəmiyyət verməzlər, yarımız ölsək belə, yenə də əhəmiyyəti olmaz. Ancaq sən bizim on minimizdən də qiymətlisən və indi şəhərdə qalıb bizə kömək etməyə hazır olmağın daha yaxşıdır».

And they said, Thou shalt not go out: for if we should indeed flee, they will not care for us; and if half of us should die, they will not mind us; for thou [art] as ten thousand of us: and now [it is] well that thou shalt be to us an aid to help us in the city.

And the people answered: Thou shalt not go forth: for if we flee away, they will not much mind us: or if half of us should fall, they will not greatly care: for thou alone art accounted for ten thousand: it is better therefore that thou shouldst be in the city to succour us.
But the men replied, “No, you must not go out into battle! For if we have to run away, they won't care about us. Even if half of us die, they won't care about that either. But you are worth ten thousand of us, so it's better if you stay here and send us help from the town.”
But the people answered, Thou shalt not goe foorth: for if we flee away, they will not regarde vs, neither will they passe for vs, though halfe of vs were slaine: but thou art now worth ten thousande of vs: therefore nowe it is better that thou succour vs out of the citie.

And the people say, 'Thou dost not go out, for if we utterly flee, they do not set [their] heart upon us; and if half of us die, they do not set [their] heart unto us — for now like us [are] ten thousand; and now, better that thou be to us from the city for an helper.'

Et ils s'écrièrent: Ne sors point; car, si nous venions à fuir, ce n'est pas nous que tes ennemis ont à cœur; si la moitié de nous venait à périr, ce n'est pas nous qu'ils ont à cœur, parce que tu vaux dix mille de nous. Il est bon maintenant que tu restes dans la ville, où tu es notre soutien.
