The king went up to the LORD’s house with all the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem—the priests, the Levites, and all the people, both great and small—and he read in their hearing all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the LORD’s house.

Kemudian pergilah raja ke rumah TUHAN bersama-sama semua orang Yehuda dan penduduk Yerusalem, para imam, orang-orang Lewi, dan seluruh orang awam, baik yang besar maupun yang masih kecil. Dengan didengar mereka ia membacakan segala perkataan dari kitab perjanjian yang ditemukan di rumah TUHAN itu.

യെഹൂദാജനതയെയും ജെറുശലേംനിവാസികളെയും പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും ലേവ്യരെയും, വലുപ്പച്ചെറുപ്പംകൂടാതെ ആബാലവൃദ്ധം ജനങ്ങളെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ട് അദ്ദേഹം യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു ചെന്നു. യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽനിന്നു കണ്ടുകിട്ടിയ ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ ഗ്രന്ഥത്തിലെ വചനങ്ങളെല്ലാം അവർ കേൾക്കെ രാജാവു വായിച്ചു.
राजा परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरात गेला. यहूदातील सर्व प्रजा, यरूशलेममधील सर्व थोर तसेच सामान्य माणसे, याजक आणि लेवी हे सर्व राजासोबत होते. परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरात सापडलेल्या कराराच्या ग्रंथातील सर्व वचने तेथे राजाने त्यांना वाचून दाखवली.
