However, Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the LORD’s wrath did not come on them in the days of Hezekiah.

આવું થવાથી હિઝકિયા પોતાનો ગર્વ છોડીને છેક દીન થઈ ગયો. યહૂદિયા અને યરુશાલેમના રહેવાસીઓ પણ રાજાની માફક નમ્ર થયા. તેથી હિઝકિયાના જીવનકાળ દરમિયાન ઈશ્વરનો રોષ ફરી તેમના પર ઊતર્યો નહિ.

तब हिजकिय्याह यरूशलेम के निवासियों समेत अपने मन के फूलने के कारण दीन हो गया, इसलिए यहोवा का क्रोध उन पर हिजकिय्याह के दिनों में न भड़का।
तब हिज़किय्याह ने अपने हृदय को नम्र किया, उसने और येरूशलेम वासियों ने; फलस्वरूप याहवेह का प्रकोप हिज़किय्याह के जीवनकाल में हावी न हुआ.
