So the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold; and he said to them, “It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Look and behold your gods, Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt!”

| وَبَعْدَ الْمُشَاوَرَةِ سَبَكَ الْمَلِكُ عِجْلَيْ ذَهَبٍ، وَقَالَ لِلشَّعْبِ: «إِنَّ الذَّهَابَ إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ لِلْعِبَادَةِ يُعَرِّضُكُمْ لِمَشَقَّةٍ عَظِيمَةٍ، فَهَا هِيَ آلِهَتُكَ يَاإِسْرَائِيلُ الَّتِي أَخْرَجَتْكَ مِنْ دِيَارِ مِصْرَ». |
এই কাৰণে ৰজাই পৰামর্শ লৈ সোণৰ দুটা দামুৰি নিৰ্মাণ কৰিলে; তেওঁ লোকসকলক ক’লে, “তোমালোক যিৰূচালেমলৈ অহা-যোৱা কৰা বৰ বহুল্য; এতেকে হে ইস্ৰায়েল, চোৱা, যি জনে মিচৰ দেশৰ পৰা তোমালোকক উলিয়াই আনিলে, তোমালোকৰ সেই ঈশ্বৰ এৱেঁই।”

Then he said to the people, “You have been going to Jerusalem [to worship] for a long time. It is a big trouble for you to continue going there. You people of Israel, look! These statues are the gods that brought our [ancestors] up from Egypt! [So you can worship these, here!]”
So King Jeroboam sought advice and made two calves of gold; he said to the people, “It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Look, these are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”
