Thánh Thi 37
1 Chớ phiền lòng vì cớ kẻ làm dữ, Cũng đừng ghen tị kẻ tập tành sự gian ác.
A Psalm of David himself. Do not choose to imitate the malicious; neither should you envy those who work iniquity.
2 Vì chẳng bao lâu chúng nó sẽ bị phát như cỏ, Và phải héo như cỏ tươi xanh.
For they will quickly wither away like dry grass, and in like manner to kitchen herbs, they will soon droop.
3 Hãy tin cậy Ðức Giê-hô-va, và làm điều lành; Khá ở trong xứ, và nuôi mình bằng sự thành tín của Ngài.
Hope in the Lord and do good, and dwell in the land, and so you shall be pastured with its riches.
4 Cũng hãy khoái lạc nơi Ðức Giê-hô-va, Thì Ngài sẽ ban cho ngươi điều lòng mình ao ước.
Delight in the Lord, and he will grant to you the petitions of your heart.
5 Hãy phó thác đường lối mình cho Ðức Giê-hô-va, Và nhờ cậy nơi Ngài, thì Ngài sẽ làm thành việc ấy.
Reveal your way to the Lord, and hope in him, and he will accomplish it.
6 Ngài sẽ khiến công bình ngươi lộ ra như ánh sáng, Và tỏ ra lý đoán ngươi như chánh ngọ.
And he will bring forth your justice like the light, and your judgment like the midday.
7 Hãy yên tịnh trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va, và chờ đợi Ngài. Chớ phiền lòng vì cớ kẻ được may mắn trong con đường mình, Hoặc vì cớ người làm thành những mưu ác.
Be subject to the Lord and pray to him. Do not choose to compete with him who prospers in his way, with the man who does injustice.
8 Hãy dẹp sự giận, và bỏ sự giận hoảng; Chớ phiền lòng, vì điều đó chỉ gây ra việc ác.
Cease from wrath and leave behind rage. Do not choose to imitate the malicious.
9 Vì những kẻ làm ác sẽ bị diệt; Còn kẻ nào trông đợi Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ được đất làm cơ nghiệp.
For those who are malicious will be exterminated. But those who remain with the Lord, these will inherit the land.
10 Một chút nữa kẻ ác không còn. Ngươi sẽ xem xét chỗ hắn, thật không còn nữa.
Yet still a little while, and the sinner will not be. And you will search his place and find nothing.
11 Song người hiền từ sẽ nhận được đất làm cơ nghiệp, Và được khoái lạc về bình yên dư dật.
But the meek shall inherit the earth, and they will delight in the multitude of peace.
12 Kẻ ác lập mưu nghịch người công bình, Và nghiến răng cùng người.
The sinner will observe the just, and he will gnash his teeth over him.
13 Chúa sẽ chê cười nó, Vì thấy ngày phạt nó hầu đến.
But the Lord will laugh at him: for he knows in advance that his day will come.
14 Kẻ ác đã rút gươm và giương cung mình, Ðặng đánh đổ người khốn cùng và kẻ thiếu thốn, Ðặng giết người đi theo sự ngay thẳng.
The sinners have drawn the sword, they have bent their bow, so as to cast down the poor and the needy, so as to massacre the upright of heart.
15 Gươm chúng nó sẽ đâm vào lòng chúng nó, Và cung chúng nó sẽ bị gãy.
Let their sword enter into their own hearts, and let their bow be broken.
16 Của người công bình tuy ít, Còn hơn sự dư dật của nhiều người ác.
A little is better to the just than the many riches of sinners.
17 Vì cánh tay kẻ ác sẽ bị gãy, Nhưng Ðức Giê-hô-va nâng đỡ người công bình.
For the arms of sinners will be crushed, but the Lord confirms the just.
18 Ðức Giê-hô-va biết số ngày kẻ trọn vẹn, Và cơ nghiệp người sẽ còn đến đời đời.
The Lord knows the days of the immaculate, and their inheritance will be in eternity.
19 Trong thì xấu xa họ không bị hổ thẹn; Trong ngày đói kém họ được no nê.
They will not be confounded in an evil time; and in days of famine, they will be satisfied:
20 Còn kẻ ác sẽ hư mất, Những kẻ thù nghịch Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ như mỡ chiên con: Chúng nó phải đốt tiêu, tan đi như khói.
for sinners will perish. Truly, the adversaries of the Lord, soon after they have been honored and exalted, will fade away, in the same way that smoke fades away.
21 Kẻ ác mượn, mà không trả lại; Còn người công bình làm ơn, và ban cho.
The sinner will lend and not release, but the just one shows compassion and donates.
22 Vì người mà Ðức Chúa Trời ban phước cho sẽ nhận được đất; Còn kẻ mà Ngài rủa sả sẽ bị diệt đi.
For those who bless him will inherit the earth, but those who curse him will perish.
23 Ðức Giê-hô-va định liệu các bước của người, Và Ngài thích đường lối người:
The steps of a man will be directed by the Lord, and he will choose his way.
24 Dầu người té, cùng không nắm sải dài; Vì Ðức Giê-hô-va lấy tay Ngài nâng đỡ người.
When he falls, he will not be harmed, because the Lord places his hand under him.
25 Trước tôi trẻ, rày đã già, Nhưng chẳng hề thấy người công bình bị bỏ, Hay là dòng dõi người đi ăn mày.
I have been young, and now I am old; and I have not seen the just forsaken, nor his offspring seeking bread.
26 Hằng ngày người thương xót, và cho mượn; Dòng dõi người được phước.
He shows compassion and lends, all day long, and his offspring will be in blessing.
27 Hãy tránh điều dữ, và làm điều lành, Thì sẽ được ở đời đời.
Turn away from evil and do good, and dwell forever and ever.
28 Vì Ðức Giê-hô-va chuộng sự công bình, Không từ bỏ người thánh của Ngài; họ được Ngài gìn giữ đời đời: Còn dòng dõi kẻ dữ sẽ bị diệt đi.
For the Lord loves judgment, and he will not abandon his saints. They will be kept safe in eternity. The unjust will be punished, and the offspring of the impious will perish.
29 Người công bình sẽ nhận được đất, Và ở tại đó đời đời.
But the just will inherit the earth, and they will dwell upon it forever and ever.
30 Miệng người công bình xưng điều khôn ngoan, Và lưỡi người nói sự chánh trực.
The mouth of the just one will express wisdom, and his tongue will speak judgment.
31 Luật pháp Ðức Chúa Trời người ở trong lòng người; Bước người không hề xiêu tó.
The law of his God is in his heart, and his steps shall not be supplanted.
32 Kẻ ác rình rập người công bình, Và tìm giết người.
The sinner considers the just one and seeks to put him to death.
33 Ðức Giê-hô-va không bỏ người trong tay hắn, Cũng chẳng định tội cho người khi người bị đoán xét.
But the Lord will not abandon him into his hands, nor condemn him, when he will be judged.
34 Hãy trông đợi Ðức Giê-hô-va, và giữ theo đường Ngài, Thì Ngài sẽ nâng ngươi khiến để nhận được đất! Khi kẻ ác bị diệt đi, thì ngươi sẽ thấy điều ấy.
Wait for the Lord, and keep to his way. And he will exalt you, so as to inherit the land that you may seize. When the sinners will have passed away, then you shall see.
35 Tôi từng thấy kẻ ác có thế lực lớn, Trải ra như cây xanh tươi mọc nơi cố thổ,
I have seen the impious over-exalted, and lifted up like the cedars of Lebanon.
36 Song có người đi qua, kìa, hắn chẳng còn nữa; Tôi tìm hắn, nhưng không gặp.
And I passed by, and behold, he was not. And I sought him, and his place was not found.
37 Hãy chăm chú người trọn vẹn, và nhìn xem người ngay thẳng; Vì cuối cùng người hòa bình có phước.
Keep to innocence, and gaze upon fairness: because there are allotments for the peaceful man.
38 Còn các kẻ vi phạm sẽ cùng nhau bị hủy hoại; Sự tương lai kẻ ác sẽ bị diệt đi.
But the unjust will be destroyed together: the allotments of the impious will pass away.
39 Nhưng sự cứu rỗi người công bình do Ðức Giê-hô-va mà đến; Ngài là đồn lũy của họ trong thì gian truân.
But the salvation of the just is from the Lord, and he is their protector in time of tribulation.
40 Ðức Giê-hô-va giúp đỡ và giải cứu họ; Ngài giải họ khỏi kẻ ác và cứu rỗi cho, Bởi vì họ đã nương náu mình nơi Ngài.
And the Lord will help them and free them. And he will rescue them from sinners and save them, because they have hoped in him.
