1 Nhân vì Ðấng Toàn năng đã định kỳ phạt ác, Cớ sao Ngài không khiến kẻ nhận biết Ngài được thấy ngày ấy?
Why are times for judging wicked people not set by the Almighty? Why do not those who are faithful to God see his days of judgment come?
2 Có người dời sụt mộc giới, Aên cắp bầy chiên, rồi dẫn cho ăn.
There are wicked people who remove boundary markers; there are wicked people who take away flocks by force and put them in their own pastures.
3 Chúng cướp dẫn lừa của kẻ mồ côi, Lấy bò của người góa bụa làm của cầm.
They drive away the donkey of those without fathers; they take the widow's ox as security.
4 Chúng khiến kẻ nghèo lìa bỏ đường chánh đáng, Kẻ khốn cùng của thế gian đồng nhau đi ẩn tránh.
They force needy people out of their path; poor people of the earth all hide themselves from them.
5 Kìa, vừa sớm mai chúng đi ra làm công việc mình, Tìm lương thực mình, như lừa rừng nơi đồng vắng; Ðồng vắng cấp thực vật cho con cái chúng nó.
See, these poor people go out to their work like wild donkeys in the wilderness, looking carefully for food; perhaps the Arabah will provide them food for their children.
6 Chúng nó thâu góp rơm cỏ tại trong đồng ruộng, Mót trái nho trong vườn của kẻ là ác.
Poor people reap in the night in other people's fields; they glean grapes from the harvest of those wicked people.
7 Trọn đêm chúng nó nằm trần truồng không quần áo, Và chẳng có mềm đắp khỏi lạnh.
They lie naked all night without clothing; they have no covering in the cold.
8 Chúng nó bị dầm mưa núi, Không nơi đụt, bèn nép mình vào hòn đá.
They are wet with the showers of the mountains; they lie next to large rocks because they have no shelter.
9 Có người cướp kẻ mồ côi cha còn bú; Bắt thế chưng áo trên mình kẻ nghèo;
There are wicked people who pluck orphans from their mothers' breast, and wicked people who take children as security from poor people.
10 Ðến đỗi người nghèo phải đi trần không áo, Vác những bó lúa, mà bị đói.
But the poor people go about naked without clothing; although they go hungry, they carry bundles of grain belonging to other people.
11 Chúng ép dầu trong kho chủ mình, Ðạp trái nho nơi thùng, mà bị khát.
The poor people make oil within the walls of those wicked men; they tread the wicked men's winepresses, but they themselves suffer thirst.
12 Từ trong thành nổi lên tiếng thở than của người ta, Linh hồn kẻ bị thương kêu van; Song Ðức Chúa Trời không kể đến tội ác vẫn phạm tại đó.
From out of the city the dying groan, and the throat of the wounded cries out for help. But God does not ascribe blame
13 Cũng có kẻ khác thù nghịch với ánh sáng; Không biết đạo của ánh sáng, Và chẳng đi trong con đường nó.
Some of these wicked people rebel against the light; they know not its ways, nor do they stay in its paths.
14 Vừa rạng ngày kẻ giết người chổi dậy, Giết kẻ nghèo khổ và túng cùng; Còn ban đêm nó như kẻ trộm.
Before daylight the murderer rises and he kills poor and needy people; in the night he is like a thief.
15 Mắt kẻ hành dâm cũng trông ngóng khi chập tối, Mà nói rằng: "Chẳng một mắt ai sẽ thấy tôi", Và nó che kín mặt mình.
Also, the eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight; he says, 'No eye will see me.' He disguises his face.
16 Ðương đêm tối tăm chúng nó khoét nhà, Ban ngày lại rút ẩn mất; Chúng nó chẳng biết ánh sáng.
In the darkness wicked people dig into houses; but they shut themselves up in the daytime; they do not care for the light.
17 Buổi sáng vốn là bóng chết cho chúng nó thay thảy, Vì chúng nó biết sự kinh hãi về bóng sự chết,
For all of them, thick darkness is like the morning; for they are friends with the terrors of thick darkness.
18 Chúng nó qua chong chóng như vật nhẹ trôi nơi mặt nước; Phần nghiệp họ bị rủa sả tại trên đất; Chẳng còn trở về lối vườn nho nữa.
Swiftly they pass away, however, like foam on the surface of the waters; their portion of the land is cursed; no one goes to work in their vineyards.
19 Sự khô hạn và sự nắng tiêu tan nước tuyết đi; âm phủ cũng làm như vậy cho những kẻ có tội. (Sheol h7585)
As drought and heat melt away the snow into waters, so Sheol takes away those who have sinned. (Sheol h7585)
20 Lòng mẹ sẽ quên chúng nó đi; Các sâu bọ ăn ngon chúng nó; Người ta không còn nhớ họ nữa; Và sự gian ác sẽ bị bẻ gẫy ra như cây cối.
The womb that bore him will forget him; the worm will feed sweetly on him; he will be remembered no more; in this way, wickedness will be broken like a tree.
21 Chúng nó cướp giựt người đờn bà son sẻ, không sanh con, Chẳng làm điều lành cho người góa bụa.
The wicked one devours the barren women who have not borne children; he does no good to the widow.
22 Song Ðức Chúa Trời lấy quyền năng Ngài mà bảo toàn người thế lực; Ngài đỡ lên kẻ hết trông được bảo tồn mạng sống mình.
Yet God drags away the mighty people by his power; he rises up and does not strengthen them in life.
23 Ðức Chúa Trời ban cho chúng sự vững vàng, chúng nương cậy nơi sự ấy; Nhưng con mắt Ngài coi chừng đường lối của chúng.
God allows them to think they are secure, and they are happy about that, but his eyes are on their ways.
24 Chúng được cao trọng; đoạn một ít lâu, chẳng còn nữa. Chúng ngã xuống, bị cất đem đi như mọi người khác; Họ bị cắt như ngọn gié lúa vậy.
These people are exalted; still, in only a little while, they will be gone; indeed, they will be brought low; they will be gathered up like all the others; they will be cut off like the tops of ears of grain.
25 Nếu điều đó chẳng vậy, ai bắt lẽ tôi nói dối, Và diệt lời giảng luận tôi ra hư không?
If it is not so, who can prove me to be a liar; who can make my speech worth nothing?”
