Ha-gai 2
1 Ngày hai mươi mốt tháng bảy có lời của Ðức Giê-hô-va phán ra bởi đấng tiên tri A-ghê mà rằng:
And in the seventh month, on the twenty-first of the month, the word of the Lord came, by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying:
2 Bây giờ hãy nói cùng Xô-rô-ba-bên, con trai Sa-la-thi-ên, quan trấn thủ Giu-đa, và Giê-hô-sua, con trai Giô-xa-đác, thầy tế lễ cả, và dân sự sót lại, bảo chúng nó rằng:
Speak to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, the governor of Judah, and to Jesus the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remainder of the people, saying:
3 Ai là kẻ còn sót lại ở trong các ngươi đã xem thấy vinh quang khi trước của nhà nầy? và bây giờ các ngươi xem nó ra làm sao? Nó ở trên mắt các ngươi, há chẳng phải như là hư không sao?
Who is left among you, who saw this house in its first glory? And how do you see it now? Is it not, in comparison to that, as nothing in your eyes?
4 Vậy bây giờ, Ðức Giê-hô-va phán: Hỡi Xô-rô-ba-bên, ngươi khá can đảm; còn ngươi, Giê-hô-sua, con trai Giô-xa-đác, thầy tế lễ cả, cũng khá can đảm, và hãy làm việc; vì ta ở cùng các ngươi, Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán vậy.
And now be strengthened, Zerubbabel, says the Lord. And be strengthened, Jesus the son of Jehozadak, the high priest. And be strengthened, all people of the land, says the Lord of hosts. For I am with you, says the Lord of hosts.
5 Lời giao ước mà ta lập với các ngươi khi các ngươi ra khỏi Ê-díp-tô cùng Thần ta ở giữa các ngươi: chớ sợ hãi.
And act according to the word that I planted with you when you departed from the land of Egypt. And my Spirit will be in your midst. Do not be afraid.
6 Vì Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán như vầy: Còn một lần, khỏi ít lâu nữa, ta sẽ lam rúng động các từng trời và đất, biển và đất khô.
For thus says the Lord of hosts: There is yet one brief time, and I will move heaven and earth, and the sea and the dry land.
7 Ta cũng làm rúng động hết thảy các nước hầu đến; rồi ta sẽ làm cho vinh quang đầy dẫy nhà nầy, Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán vậy.
And I will move all nations. And the Desired of all nations will arrive. And I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts.
8 Bạc là của ta, vàng là của ta, Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán vậy.
Mine is the silver, and mine is the gold, says the Lord of hosts.
9 Vinh quang sau rốt của nhà nầy sẽ lớn hơn vinh quang trước, Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán vậy; và ta sẽ ban sự bình an trong chốn nầy, Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán vậy.
Great shall be the glory of this house, the last more than the first, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place, I will bestow peace, says the Lord of hosts.
10 Ngày hai mươi bốn tháng chín về năm thứ hai của Ða-ri-út, có lời của Ðức Giê-hô-va phán ra bởi đấng tiên tri A-ghê, mà rằng:
On the twenty-fourth of the ninth month, in the second year of king Darius, the word of the Lord came to Haggai the prophet, saying:
11 Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán như vầy: Bây giờ hãy hỏi các thầy tế lễ về luật pháp rằng:
Thus says the Lord of hosts: the priests question the law, saying:
12 Nếu có kẻ gói thịt thánh trong chéo áo, và chéo áo mình đụng đến bánh, hoặc vật gì nấu chín, hoặc rượu, hoặc dầu, hay là đồ ăn gì, thì vậy đó có nên thánh không? Các thầy tế lễ đều đáp rằng: Không.
If a man will have carried sanctified flesh in the pocket of his garment, and the top of it touches his bread, or appetizer, or wine, or oil, or any food, shall it be sanctified? But the priests responded by saying, “No.”
13 A-ghê lại rằng: Nếu ai bị ô uế vì thây chết đụng đến các vật ấy, thì các vật ấy có lây ô uế không? Các thầy tế lễ trả lời rằng: Các vật ấy sẽ bị ô uế.
And Haggai said, “If the polluted in soul will have touched any of all these things, shall it be contaminated?” And the priests responded and said, “It shall be contaminated.”
14 A-ghê bèn nói rằng: Ðức Giê-hô-va phán: Dân nầy nước nầy ở trước mặt ta cũng vậy; cả công việc tay chúng nó làm ra cũng vậy; vật chúng nó dâng tại đây cũng bị ô uế.
And Haggai answered and he said: Such is this people, and such is this nation before my face, says the Lord, and such is all the work of their hands. And so all that they have offered there has been contaminated.
15 Vậy bây giờ, ta xin các ngươi khá suy nghĩ, từ ngày nầy về trước, khi chưa đặt hòn đá nầy trên hòn đá kia nơi đền thờ Ðức Giê-hô-va.
And now, consider in your hearts, from this day and beyond, before stone may be placed upon stone in the temple of the Lord:
16 Trải qua cả lúc đó, khi người ta đến một đống lúa đáng được hai mươi lường, chỉ được có mười; và khi người ta đến bàn ép rượu, đáng được năm mươi lường, chỉ được có hai mươi.
when you approached a pile of twenty measures, and they became ten, and you entered to the press, to press out fifty bottles, and they became twenty,
17 Ta đã dùng những hạn hán, ten rét, mưa đá đánh phạt các ngươi trong mọi việc tay các ngươi làm, mà các ngươi không trở lại cùng ta, Ðức Giê-hô-va phán vậy.
how I struck you with a burning wind, and a mildew, and a hailstorm, all the works of your hand, yet there was no one among you who returned to me, says the Lord.
18 Bây giờ hãy suy nghĩ; từ ngày nay về trước, tức là từ ngày hai mươi bốn tháng chín, từ ngày đặt nền của đền thờ Ðức Giê-hô-va; hãy suy nghĩ điều đó!
Set your hearts from this day and into the future, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundations of the temple of the Lord have been uttered, and place it upon your heart.
19 Các ngươi còn có hột giống nơi hầm vựa không? Dầu cho đến cây nho, cây vả, cây lựu, cây ô-li-ve, cũng không có cây nào ra trái. Nhưng từ ngày nầy, ta sẽ ban phước cho các ngươi.
Has the seed been germinated yet? And has the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree still not flourished? From this day on, I will bless you.
20 Lại có lời Ðức Giê-hô-va phán lần thứ hai cho A-ghê trong ngày hai mươi bốn tháng ấy, rằng:
And the word of the Lord came a second time to Haggai, on the twenty-fourth of the month, saying:
21 Hãy nói cùng Xô-rô-ba-bên, quan trấn thủ Giu-đa, mà rằng: Ta sẽ làm rúng động các từng trời và đất;
Speak to Zerubbabel the governor of Judah, saying: I will move both heaven and earth.
22 Ta sẽ lật đổ ngôi của các nước, diệt quyền thế các nước của các dân; ta sẽ đánh đổ các xe cộ và người ngồi ở trên; các ngựa và người cỡi, ai nấy sẽ bị đánh ngã bởi gươm của anh em mình.
And I will overturn the throne of kingdoms, and I will crush the strength of the kingdom of the Gentiles. And I will overturn the four-horse chariot, and its rider; and the horses and their riders shall be brought down, a man by the sword of his brother.
23 Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán: Hỡi Xô-rô-ba-bên, con trai Sa-la-thi-ên, trong ngày đó, ta sẽ lấy ngươi làm đầy tớ ta! Ðức Giê-hô-va phán: Ta sẽ đặt ngươi như ấn tín; vì ta đã chọn ngươi, Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân phán vậy.
In that day, says the Lord of hosts, I will take you, Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, my servant, says the Lord, and will set you like a seal, for I have chosen you, says the Lord of hosts.
