1 और शाह — ए — फ़ारस ख़ोरस की सल्तनत के पहले साल में इसलिए कि ख़ुदावन्द का कलाम जो यरमियाह की ज़बानी आया था पूरा हुआ, ख़ुदावन्द ने शाह — ए — फ़ारस ख़ोरस का दिल उभारा, इसलिए उस ने अपने पूरे मुल्क में 'ऐलान कराया और इस मज़मून का फ़रमान लिखा कि।
In the first year of Cyrus, king of Persia, Yahweh fulfilled his word that came from the mouth of Jeremiah, and stirred Cyrus's spirit. Cyrus' voice went out over his entire kingdom. This is what was written and spoken:
2 शाह — ए — फ़ारस ख़ोरस यूँ फ़रमाता है कि ख़ुदावन्द आसमान के ख़ुदा ने ज़मीन की सब मुल्कें मुझें बख़्शी हैं, और मुझें ताकीद की है कि मैं येरूशलेम में जो यहूदाह में है उसके लिए एक घर बनाऊँ।
“Cyrus, king of Persia, says: Yahweh, God of Heaven, gave me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he appointed me to build for him a house in Jerusalem in Judea.
3 तब तुम्हारे बीच जो कोई उसकी सारी क़ौम में से हो उसका ख़ुदा उसके साथ हो और वह येरूशलेम को जो यहूदाह में है जाए, और ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल के ख़ुदा का घर जो येरूशलेम में है, बनाए ख़ुदा वही है;
Whoever is from his people (may his God be with him) may go up to Jerusalem and build a house for Yahweh, the God of Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem.
4 और जो कोई किसी जगह जहाँ उसने क़याम किया बाक़ी रहा हो तो उसी जगह के लोग चाँदी और सोने और माल मवेशी से उसकी मदद करें, और 'अलावा इसके वह ख़ुदा के घर के लिए जो येरूशलेम में है ख़ुशी के हदिये दें।
People of any part of the kingdom where survivors of that land are living should provide them with silver and gold, possessions and animals, as well as a freewill offering for God's house in Jerusalem.”
5 तब यहूदाह और बिनयमीन के आबाई ख़ानदानों के सरदार और काहिन और लावी और वह सब जिनके दिल को ख़ुदा ने उभारा, उठे कि जाकर ख़ुदावन्द का घर जो येरूशलेम में है बनाएँ,
Then the heads of the ancestors' clans of Judah and Benjamin, the priests and Levites, and everyone whose spirit God stirred to go and build his house arose.
6 और उन सभों ने जो उनके पड़ोस में थे, 'अलावा उन सब चीज़ों के जो ख़ुशी से दी गई, चाँदी के बर्तनों और सोने और सामान और मवाशी और क़ीमती चीज़ों से उनकी मदद की।
Those around them supported their work with silver and gold objects, possessions, animals, valuables, and freewill offerings.
7 और ख़ोरस बादशाह ने भी ख़ुदावन्द के घर के उन बर्तनों को निकलवाया जिनको नबूकदनज़र येरूशलेम से ले आया था और अपने मा'बूदों के इबादत खाने में रखा था।
Cyrus king of Persia also released the objects belonging to Yahweh's house that Nebuchadnezzar had brought from Jerusalem and put in his own gods' houses.
8 इन ही को शाह — ए — फ़ारस ख़ोरस ने ख़ज़ान्ची मित्रदात के हाथ से निकलवाया, और उनको गिनकर यहूदाह के अमीर शेसबज़्ज़र को दिया।
Cyrus put them into the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, who counted them out for Sheshbazzar, Judea's leader.
9 और उनकी गिनती ये है: सोने की तीस थालियाँ, और चाँदी की हजार थालियाँ और उनतीस छुरियाँ।
This was their number: thirty gold basins, one thousand silver basins, twenty-nine other basins,
10 और सोने के तीस प्याले, और चाँदी के दूसरी क़िस्म के चार सौ दस प्याले और, और क़िस्म के बर्तन एक हज़ार।
thirty gold bowls, 410 small silver bowls, and one thousand additional objects.
11 सोने और चाँदी के कुल बर्तन पाँच हज़ार चार सौ थे। शेसबज़्ज़र इन सभों को, जब ग़ुलामी के लोग बाबुल से येरूशलेम को पहुँचाए गए, ले आया।
There were 5,400 gold and silver items in all. Sheshbazzar brought all of them when the exiles went from Babylon to Jerusalem.
