До римлян 2
1 Ось тому без виправдання ти, кожний чоловіче, що судиш, бо в чо́му осуджуєш іншого, сам себе осуджуєш, бо чиниш те саме й ти, що судиш.
Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things.
2 А ми знаємо, що суд Божий поправді на тих, хто чинить таке.
We know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things.
3 Чи ти ду́маєш, чоловіче, судячи тих, хто чинить таке, а сам робиш таке саме, — що ти втечеш від суду Божого?
Do you think this, O man who judges those who practice such things, and do the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?
4 Або пого́рджуєш багатством Його до́брости, ла́гідности та довготерпіння, не знаючи, що Божа до́брість провадить тебе до покая́ння?
Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
5 Та через жорстокість свою й нерозкаяність серця збираєш собі гнів на день гніву та об'я́влення справедливого суду Бога,
But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath, revelation, and of the righteous judgment of God,
6 що „кожному віддасть за його вчинками“:
who “will pay back to everyone according to their works:”
7 тим, хто витривалістю в добрім ділі шукає слави, і чести, і нетління, — життя вічне, (aiōnios g166)
to those who by perseverance in well-doing seek for glory, honor, and incorruptibility, eternal life; (aiōnios g166)
8 а сварливим та тим, хто противиться правді, але кориться неправді, — лютість та гнів.
but to those who are self-seeking and don’t obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, will be wrath, indignation,
9 Недоля та у́тиск на всяку душу людини, хто чинить зле, юдея ж перше та ге́ллена,
oppression, and anguish on every soul of man who does evil, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
10 а слава, і честь, і мир усякому, хто чинить добре, юдеєві ж перше та ге́лленові.
But glory, honor, and peace go to every man who does good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
11 Бо не дивиться Бог на обличчя!
For there is no partiality with God.
12 Котрі бо згрішили без Зако́ну, без Зако́ну й загинуть, а котрі згрішили в Зако́ні, при́ймуть суд за Зако́ном.
For as many as have sinned without the law will also perish without the law. As many as have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.
13 Бо не слухачі Зако́ну справедливі перед Богом, але виконавці Закону ви́правдані бу́дуть.
For it isn’t the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be justified
14 Бо коли погани, що не мають Зако́ну, з природи чинять зако́нне, вони, не мавши Зако́ну, самі собі Зако́н,
(for when Gentiles who don’t have the law do by nature the things of the law, these, not having the law, are a law to themselves,
15 що виявляють ді́ло Зако́ну, написане в серця́х своїх, як свідчить їм сумлі́ння та їхні думки́, що то осуджують, то виправдують одна о́дну,
in that they show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience testifying with them, and their thoughts among themselves accusing or else excusing them)
16 дня, коли Бог, згідно з моїм благові́стям, буде судити таємні речі людей через Ісуса Христа.
in the day when God will judge the secrets of men, according to my Good News, by Jesus Christ.
17 Ось ти звешся юдеєм, і спираєшся на Зако́на, і хвалишся Богом,
Indeed you bear the name of a Jew, rest on the law, glory in God,
18 і знаєш волю Його, і розумієш, що́ краще, навчившись із Зако́ну,
know his will, and approve the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law,
19 і маєш певність, що ти провідни́к для сліпих, світло для тих, хто знахо́диться в те́мряві,
and are confident that you yourself are a guide of the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,
20 вихо́вник нерозумним, учитель дітям, що ти маєш зразок знання́ й правди в Зако́ні.
a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of babies, having in the law the form of knowledge and of the truth.
21 Отож, ти, що іншого навчаєш, себе самого не вчиш! Проповідуєш не кра́сти, а сам кра́деш!
You therefore who teach another, don’t you teach yourself? You who preach that a man shouldn’t steal, do you steal?
22 Наказуючи не чинити пере́любу, чиниш пере́люб! Гиду́ючи і́долами, чиниш святокрадство!
You who say a man shouldn’t commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?
23 Ти, що хва́лишся Зако́ном, зневажаєш Бога пере́ступом Зако́ну!
You who glory in the law, do you dishonor God by disobeying the law?
24 Бо „через вас зневажається Боже Ймення в поган“, як написано.
For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” just as it is written.
25 Обрі́зання кори́сне, коли виконуєш Зако́на; а коли ти пересту́пник Зако́ну, то обрі́зання твоє стало необрі́занням.
For circumcision indeed profits, if you are a doer of the law, but if you are a transgressor of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.
26 Отож, коли необрізаний зберігає постанови Зако́ну, то чи не порахується його необрізання за обрізання?
If therefore the uncircumcised keep the ordinances of the law, won’t his uncircumcision be accounted as circumcision?
27 І необрізаний з природи, виконуючи Зако́на, чи не осудить тебе, переступника Закону з Писа́нням і обрі́занням?
Won’t those who are physically uncircumcised, but fulfill the law, judge you, who with the letter and circumcision are a transgressor of the law?
28 Бо не той юдей, що є ним назовні, і не то обрізання, що назовні на тілі,
For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, neither is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh;
29 але той, що є юдей потаємно, духо́во, і обрі́зання — серця духом, а не за буквою; і йому похвала́ не від людей, а від Бога.
but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God.
