< Luka 14 >

1 Homeda bi, Farisini panin bi too nsa frɛɛ Yesu adidi. Adidie no ase hɔ no, na wɔn a wɔahyia no nyinaa rehwɛ deɛ Yesu bɛyɛ.
And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath, that they watched him.
2 Na ɔbarima bi wɔ hɔ a ɔyare ahonhono.
And behold, there was a certain man before him who had the dropsy.
3 Yesu bisaa Farisifoɔ no ne mmaranimfoɔ a na wɔwɔ hɔ no sɛ, “Mmara ma ho kwan sɛ wɔsa yadeɛ homeda anaa?”
And Jesus answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath?
4 Wɔammua no. Enti, Yesu sɔɔ ɔyarefoɔ no mu saa no yadeɛ, gyaa no kwan.
And they held their peace. And he took [him] and healed him, and let him go;
5 Yesu bisaa wɔn a wɔahyia hɔ no nyinaa sɛ, “Mo mu hwan na sɛ nʼafunumu tɔ abura mu homeda a ɔrenyi no da no ara?”
And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not forthwith pull him out on the sabbath?
6 Nanso, wɔantumi ammua no.
And they could not answer him again to these things.
7 Afei, Yesu hunuu sɛ, nnipa a wɔfrɛɛ wɔn adidi no ase no mu biara pɛɛ sɛ ɔtena mpanin tenabea no, ɔbuu wɔn bɛ bi sɛ,
And he put forth a parable to those who were invited, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying to them,
8 “Sɛ obi to nsa frɛ wo apontoɔ ase a, mpere wo ho nkɔtena mpanin tenabea, ɛfiri sɛ, ebia na wato nsa afrɛ onipa titire bi a ɔsene wo.
When thou art invited by any [man] to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room, lest a more honorable man than thou be invited by him;
9 Sɛ ɛba saa a, deɛ ɔtoo nsa frɛɛ wo no bɛtu wo afiri akonnwa a wote so no so de ama deɛ ɔsene wo no na wode aniwuo akɔtena akyire baabi.
And he that invited thee and him, shall come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.
10 Enti, sɛ obi hyia wo apontoɔ ase a, kɔtena akyire baabi na sɛ deɛ ɔhyiaa wo no bɛhunu wo a, waka akyerɛ wo sɛ, ‘Onua, sɔre na kɔtena mpanin tenabea.’
But when thou art invited, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that invited thee cometh, he may say to thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have honor in the presence of them that sit at table with thee.
11 Na obiara a ɔma ne ho so no, wɔbɛbrɛ no ase, na deɛ ɔbrɛ ne ho ase no, wɔbɛma no so.”
For whoever exalteth himself shall be abased, and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
12 Afei, Yesu ka kyerɛɛ Farisini a ɔtoo nsa frɛɛ no no sɛ, “Sɛ woto ɛpono a mfrɛ wo nnamfo, wo nuanom, wʼabusuafoɔ ne asikafoɔ a wo ne wɔn bɔ fipam nko ara; sɛ woyɛ saa a, wɔn nso bɛto nsa afrɛ wo bi na ɛba saa a, na wonyɛɛ hwee.
Then said he also to him that invited him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor [thy] rich neighbors; lest they also invite thee again, and a recompense be made thee.
13 Na sɛ woto ɛpono a, hyia ahiafoɔ, mmubuafoɔ, mpakye ne anifirafoɔ.
But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
14 Esiane sɛ wɔntumi nyɛ saa bi mma wo no enti, ɛda a ateneneefoɔ bɛsɔre afiri awufoɔ mu no, Onyankopɔn bɛhyira wo.”
And thou shalt be blessed: for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
15 Wɔn a wɔte adidiiɛ no mu baako tee deɛ Yesu kaeɛ no, ɔkaa sɛ, “Nhyira nka deɛ ɔbɛdidi wɔ Onyankopɔn Ahennie no mu.”
And when one of them that sat at table with him heard these things, he said to him, Blessed [is] he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
16 Yesu buaa no sɛ, “Ɛda bi ɔbarima bi too ɛpono kɛseɛ hyiaa nnipa bebree.
Then said he to him, A certain man made a great supper, and invited many:
17 Adidi berɛ duruiɛ no, ɔsomaa ne ɔsomfoɔ bi sɛ ɔnkɔfrɛ wɔn a wɔahyia wɔn no sɛ wɔmmra.
And sent his servant at supper-time, to say to them that were invited, Come, for all things are now ready.
18 “Nanso, wɔn nyinaa yiyii wɔn ho wɔn ho ano. Deɛ ɔdi ɛkan no yii ne ho ano sɛ, ‘Matɔ asase a ɛnnɛ na ɛsɛ sɛ mekɔhwɛ enti mesrɛ no sɛ merentumi mma.’
And they all with one [consent] began to make excuse. The first said to him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
19 “Na ɔfoforɔ nso yii ne ho ano sɛ, ‘Matɔ anantwie edu a mede wɔn bɛyɛ mʼafuo a ɛnnɛ na ɛsɛ sɛ mekɔsɔ wɔn hwɛ enti mesrɛ no sɛ merentumi mma.’
And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
20 “Ɔfoforɔ bi nso yii ne ho ano sɛ, ‘Afei na maware, enti merentumi mma.’
And another said, I have married a wife: and therefore I cannot come.
21 “Ɔsomfoɔ no sane bɛbɔɔ ne wura no amaneɛ no, ɔde abufuo somaa no bio sɛ, ‘Ka wo ho kɔ mmɔntene so ne mmantam na kɔfrɛfrɛ ahiafoɔ, mmubuafoɔ, anifirafoɔ ne mpakye sɛ wɔmmra.’
So that servant came, and showed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
22 “Ɔsomfoɔ no kɔfrɛfrɛɛ nnipa no baeɛ, nanso na afa da so wɔ hɔ ara.
And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.
23 “Ɛno enti, owura no sane somaa no sɛ, ‘Kɔ akwan so ne mfikyire na frɛ obiara a wobɛhunu no no sɛ, mato ɛpono, enti wɔmmra.
And the lord said to the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel [them] to come in, that my house may be filled.
24 Na merema woate aseɛ sɛ, nnipa a metoo nsa hyiaa wɔn no mu biara nni hɔ a mʼaduane yi bi bɛka nʼano da biara da.’”
For I say to you, that none of those men who were invited, shall taste my supper.
25 Ɛda bi a na nkurɔfoɔ akuakuo bi di Yesu akyi no, ɔdanee ne ho ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ,
And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said to them,
26 “Sɛ obi pɛ sɛ ɔdi mʼakyi a, ɛsɛ sɛ ɔdɔ me sene nʼawofoɔ, ne yere, ne mma, ne nuanom ne nʼankasa ho, anyɛ saa a, ɔrentumi nyɛ me suani.
If any [man] cometh to me, and hateth not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
27 Obiara a ɔdi mʼakyi na ɔntumi nnyina amanehunu ano no, rentumi nyɛ me suani.
And whoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
28 “Mo mu hwan na ɔpɛ sɛ ɔsi aban a ɔrentena ase nsese nhwɛ sɛ ɔwɔ sika a ɔde bɛwie?
For which of you intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he hath [sufficient] to finish [it]?
29 Anyɛ saa na ɔhyɛ ɛdan no ase na wantumi anwie a, wɔn a wɔhunu no nyinaa bɛsere no,
Lest perhaps after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish [it], all that behold [it] begin to mock him,
30 aka sɛ, ‘Onipa yi hyɛɛ aseɛ sɛ ɔresi ɛdan, nanso wantumi anwie’.
Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
Or what king going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
32 Na sɛ ɔhwɛ na ɔrentumi nso a, ansa koraa na ɔsahene foforɔ no bɛbɛn no no, ɔtu abɔfoɔ kɔhunu no sɛ, ɔmma wɔnsiesie wɔn ntam na asomdwoeɛ mmra.
Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an embassy, and desireth conditions of peace.
33 Ɛno enti, obiara a wampa ne ho akyi no rentumi nyɛ me suani.
So likewise, whoever he is of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
34 “Nkyene yɛ dɛ. Na sɛ ɛyera ne dɛ a, ɛkwan bɛn so na wɔbɛfa ama ayɛ dɛ bio?
Salt [is] good: but if the salt hath lost its savor, with what shall it be seasoned?
35 Ɛho nni mfasoɔ mma biribiara. Wɔbɛto agu. “Deɛ ɔwɔ aso a ɔbɛtie no, ɔntie.”
It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill, [but] men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
