< Luka 14 >

1 Homeda bi, Farisini panyin bi too nsa frɛɛ Yesu adidi. Adidi no ase hɔ no, na wɔn a wɔahyia no nyinaa rehwɛ nea Yesu bɛyɛ.
And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath, that they watched him.
2 Na ɔbarima bi wɔ hɔ a ɔyare ahonhon.
And behold, there was a certain man before him who had the dropsy.
3 Yesu bisaa Farisifo no ne mmaranimfo a na wɔwɔ hɔ no se, “Mmara ma ho kwan sɛ wɔsa yare homeda ana?”
And Jesus answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath?
4 Wɔammua no. Enti Yesu soo ɔyarefo no mu saa no yare, gyaa no kwan.
And they held their peace. And he took [him] and healed him, and let him go;
5 Yesu bisaa wɔn a wɔahyia wɔ hɔ no nyinaa se, “Mo mu hena na sɛ nʼafurum tɔ abura mu homeda a ɔrenyi no da no ara?”
And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not forthwith pull him out on the sabbath?
6 Nanso wɔantumi ammua no.
And they could not answer him again to these things.
7 Afei Yesu huu sɛ nnipa a wɔfrɛɛ wɔn baa adidi no ase no mu biara pɛ sɛ ɔtena mpanyin tenabea no, obuu wɔn bɛ bi se,
And he put forth a parable to those who were invited, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying to them,
8 “Sɛ obi to nsa frɛ wo kɔ aponto ase a, mpere wo ho nkɔtena mpanyin tenabea, efisɛ ebia na wato nsa afrɛ onipa titiriw bi a ɔsen wo.
When thou art invited by any [man] to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room, lest a more honorable man than thou be invited by him;
9 Sɛ ɛba saa a, nea ɔtoo nsa frɛɛ wo no betu wo afi akongua a wote so no so de ama nea ɔsen wo no na wode aniwu akɔtena akyi baabi.
And he that invited thee and him, shall come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.
But when thou art invited, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that invited thee cometh, he may say to thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have honor in the presence of them that sit at table with thee.
11 Na obiara a ɔma ne ho so no, wɔbɛbrɛ no ase, na nea ɔbrɛ ne ho ase no, wɔbɛma no so.”
For whoever exalteth himself shall be abased, and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
12 Afei Yesu ka kyerɛɛ Farisini a ɔtoo nsa frɛɛ no no se, “Sɛ woto pon a mfrɛ wo nnamfo, wo nuanom, wʼabusuafo ne asikafo a wo ne wɔn bɔ fipam nko ara; sɛ woyɛ saa a wɔn nso bɛto nsa afrɛ wo bi na ɛba saa a na wonyɛɛ hwee ɛ.
Then said he also to him that invited him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor [thy] rich neighbors; lest they also invite thee again, and a recompense be made thee.
13 Na sɛ woto pon a hyia ahiafo, mmubuafo, mpakye ne anifuraefo.
But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
14 Esiane sɛ wɔrentumi nyɛ saa bi mma wo no nti, da a atreneefo bɛsɔre afi awufo mu no, Onyankopɔn behyira wo.”
And thou shalt be blessed: for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
15 Wɔn a wɔte adidii no mu baako tee nea Yesu kae no; ɔkae se, “Nhyira nka nea obedidi wɔ Onyankopɔn ahenni no mu.”
And when one of them that sat at table with him heard these things, he said to him, Blessed [is] he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
16 Yesu buaa no se, “Da bi, ɔbarima bi too pon kɛse hyiaa nnipa bebree.
Then said he to him, A certain man made a great supper, and invited many:
17 Bere soe no, ɔnam tumi so somaa ne somfo bi se ɔnkɔfrɛ wɔn a wɔahyia wɔn no se wɔmmra.
And sent his servant at supper-time, to say to them that were invited, Come, for all things are now ready.
18 “Nanso, wɔn nyinaa yiyii wɔn ho ano. Nea odi kan no yii ne ho ano se, ‘Matɔ asase a nnɛ na ɛsɛ sɛ mekɔhwɛ enti mesrɛ no sɛ merentumi mma.’
And they all with one [consent] began to make excuse. The first said to him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
19 “Na ɔfoforo nso yii ne ho ano se, ‘Matɔ anantwi du a mede wɔn bɛyɛ mʼafuw a nnɛ na ɛsɛ sɛ mekɔsɔ wɔn hwɛ enti mesrɛ no sɛ merentumi mma.’
And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
20 “Ɔfoforo bi nso yii ne ho ano se, ‘Afei na maware, enti merentumi mma.’
And another said, I have married a wife: and therefore I cannot come.
21 “Ɔsomfo no san bɛbɔɔ ne wura no amanneɛ no, ɔde abufuw somaa no bio se, ‘Ka wo ho kɔ mmɔnten so ne mmantam na kɔfrɛfrɛ ahiafo, mmubuafo, anifuraefo ne mpakye sɛ wɔmmra.’
So that servant came, and showed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
22 “Ɔsomfo no kɔfrɛfrɛɛ nnipa no bae, nanso na afa da so wɔ hɔ ara.
And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.
23 “Ɛno nti owura no san somaa no se, ‘Kɔ akwan so ne mfikyiri na frɛ obiara a wubehu no no se, mato pon, enti wɔmmra.
And the lord said to the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel [them] to come in, that my house may be filled.
24 Na merema woate ase sɛ, nnipa a metoo nsa hyiaa wɔn no mu biara nni hɔ a mʼaduan yi bi bɛka nʼano da biara da.’”
For I say to you, that none of those men who were invited, shall taste my supper.
25 Da bi a na nkurɔfo akuwakuw bi di Yesu akyi no, ɔdan ne ho ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se,
And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said to them,
26 “Sɛ obi pɛ sɛ odi mʼakyi a, ɛsɛ sɛ ɔdɔ me sen nʼawofo, ne yere, ne mma, ne nuanom ne nʼankasa ho, anyɛ saa a ɔrentumi nyɛ me suani.
If any [man] cometh to me, and hateth not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
27 Obiara a odi mʼakyi na ontumi nnyina amanehunu ano no, rentumi nyɛ me suani.
And whoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
28 “Mo mu hena na ɔpɛ sɛ osi aban a ɔrentena ase nsese nhwɛ sɛ ɔwɔ sika a ɔde bewie?
For which of you intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he hath [sufficient] to finish [it]?
29 Anyɛ saa na ofi ɔdan no ase na wantumi anwie a, wɔn a wohu no nyinaa bɛserew no,
Lest perhaps after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish [it], all that behold [it] begin to mock him,
30 aka se, ‘Onipa yi fii ase sɛ ɔresi dan, nanso wantumi anwie.’
Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
31 “Anaasɛ ɔhene bɛn na okura asraafo mpem du na ɔrekohyia ɔsahene foforo a okura asraafo mpem aduonu a, ɔrenkari ne ho nhwɛ ansa na wakɔ akono?
Or what king going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
32 Na sɛ ɔhwɛ na ɔrentumi nso a, ansa koraa na ɔsahene foforo no bɛbɛn no no, otu abɔfo kohu no se, ɔmma wonsiesie wɔn ntam na asomdwoe mmra.
Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an embassy, and desireth conditions of peace.
33 Ɛno nti obiara a wampa ne ho akyi no rentumi nyɛ me suani.
So likewise, whoever he is of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
34 “Nkyene yɛ dɛ. Na sɛ ɛyera ne dɛ a, ɔkwan bɛn so na wɔbɛfa ama ayɛ dɛ bio?
Salt [is] good: but if the salt hath lost its savor, with what shall it be seasoned?
35 So nni mfaso mma biribiara. Wɔbɛtow agu. “Nea ɔwɔ aso a obetie no, ontie.”
It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill, [but] men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
