< 2 Timoteo 2 >

1 Na wo, Timoteo me ba, Kristo Yesu yɛ mmɔborɔhunufo, enti ma ɔnhyɛ wo den.
Thou, therefore, my child, be empowering thyself in the favour that is in Christ Jesus,
2 Fa nsɛm a wotee sɛ mereka akyerɛ adansefo bebree no, na fa hyɛ nnipa a wugye wɔn di na wobetumi akyerɛ afoforo nso nsa.
And, the things which thou hast heard from me among many witnesses, the same, entrust thou unto faithful men, such as shall be, competent, to teach, others also.
3 Sɛ amanehunu ba wo so a, mia wʼani tena sɛ Kristo Yesu sraani pa.
Take thy part in suffering hardship, as a brave soldier of Christ Jesus: —
4 Ɔsraani mmfa ne ho nhyehyɛ afisɛm mu, efisɛ ɔpɛ sɛ ɔsɔ ne panyin ani.
No one that is serving as a soldier, entangleth himself with the matters of his livelihood, that he may please him that hath summoned him to serve as a soldier;
5 Saa ara nso na obi a ɔfra akansi mu a otu mmirika no rentumi nni nkonim gye sɛ odi akansi no mmara so.
If, moreover, any man, contend even in the games, he is not crowned, unless, lawfully, he contend;
6 Ɛsɛ okuafo mmɔdemmɔfo sɛ odi kan nya ne nnɔbae bi.
The toiling husbandman, ought, first, of the fruits, to partake:
7 Dwene nsɛm a mereka yi ho, efisɛ Awurade bɛma woate biribiara ase.
Think, as to what I am speaking; for the Lord will give thee discernment in all things.
8 Kae Dawid aseni Yesu Kristo a wonyan no fi awufo mu sɛnea wɔkaa no wɔ Asɛmpa a mekaa ho asɛm no mu no.
Keep in mind Jesus Christ—raised from among the dead, of the seed of David, —according to my joyful message:
9 Esiane sɛ meka Asɛmpa no nti mihu amane, mpo, wɔagu me nkɔnsɔnkɔnsɔn sɛ ɔdebɔneyɛni. Nanso wonguu Onyankopɔn asɛm no nkɔnsɔnkɔnsɔn ɛ.
In which I am suffering hardship, even unto bonds, as an evil-doer; but, the word of God, is not bound.
10 Ɛno nti, migyina biribiara a ɛbɛba me so no ano ma wɔn a wɔapaw wɔn no sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a wɔn nso benya nkwagye ne anuonyam a enni awiei a ɛwɔ Kristo Yesu mu no bi. (aiōnios g166)
For this cause, am I enduring, all things, for the sake of the chosen, in order that, they also, may obtain, the salvation, which is in Christ Jesus along with glory age-abiding. (aiōnios g166)
11 Nsɛm a ɛsɛ sɛ wode wo ho to so ni: “Sɛ yɛne no wui a, yɛne no bɛtena ase.
Faithful, the saying—for, If we have died together, we shall also live together,
12 Sɛ yɛampa abaw a yɛne no bedi hene. Sɛ yɛpa no a, ɔno nso bɛpa yɛn.
If we endure, we shall also reign together; If we shall deny, he also, will deny us,
13 Sɛ yɛnyɛ nokwafo a, ɔno de, ɔyɛ ɔnokwafo efisɛ ɔrensan nʼasɛm.”
If we are faithless, he, faithful, abideth, —for, deny himself, he cannot!
14 Monkae mo nkurɔfo wɔ eyi ho na mommɔ wɔn kɔkɔ wɔ Onyame anim se wɔnnham wɔn nsɛm ho, na mfaso biara nni so; na ɛsɛe atiefo adwene kɛkɛ.
Of these things, be putting [them] in remembrance, adjuring [them] before God not to be waging word-battles, —useful, for nothing, occasioning a subversion of them that hearken.
15 Bɔ mmɔden sɛ wobɛyɛ odwumayɛni a womfɛre Onyankopɔn adwuma no yɛ ho, na kyerɛ nokware a ɛwɔ Onyankopɔn asɛm no mu no, na woafata nʼanim.
Give diligence, thyself, approved, to present unto God, —a workman not to be put to shame, skillfully handling the word of truth.
16 Twe wo ho fi nsɛnhuhuw a ɛho ntew ho, efisɛ ɛno na ɛpam nnipa fi Onyankopɔn ho.
But, the profane pratings, shun; for, unto more ungodliness, will they force themselves on;
17 Nea wɔkyerɛ no te sɛ akisikuru a ɛtrɛw fa ɔhonam no ani. Saa akyerɛkyerɛfo yi mu baanu ne Himeneo ne Fileto.
And, their discourse, as a gangrene, will eat its way; —of whom are Hymenaeus and Philetus,
18 Wɔaman afi nokware no ho na wɔka kyerɛ agyidifo bi se, yɛn wusɔre no atwam dedaw nam saa asɛm no so sɛe wɔn adwene.
Men who, concerning the truth, have erred, affirming, a resurrection, already, to have taken place, and are overthrowing the faith, of some.
19 Nanso obi rentumi nhinhim fapem dennen a Onyankopɔn ato no, efisɛ wɔakyerɛw wɔ so se, “Awurade nim wɔn a wɔyɛ ne de,” na “Ɛsɛ obiara a ɔka se ɔyɛ Awurade de no sɛ ɔtwe ne ho fi bɔne ho.”
Howbeit, the firm foundation of God, standeth, having this seal—The Lord hath acknowledged them who are his, and, Let every one that nameth the name of the Lord stand aloof from unrighteousness.
20 Nkuku ne nkaka wɔ ofi kɛse mu. Ebi wɔ hɔ a wɔde dwetɛ na ayɛ, bi nso wɔde sikakɔkɔɔ na ayɛ. Wɔde dua na ayɛ bi na afoforo nso wɔde dɔte. Ebi wɔ hɔ a ɛwɔ hɔ ma nnapɔnna bi na afoforo nso de di dwuma daa.
But, in a great house, there are not only gold and silver vessels, but, also wooden and earthen: and, some, indeed, for honour, while, some, are for dishonour:
21 Sɛ obi tew ne ho fi saa nneɛma bɔne no ho a, wɔde no bɛyɛ nnwuma sononko efisɛ watu ne ho asi hɔ, asiesie ne ho ama ne wura sɛ dwuma pa biara a ɛsɛ sɛ odi no, obedi.
If, therefore, anyone will, for pureness, sever himself from these, he shall be a vessel for honour, hallowed, meet for the Master’s use, for every good work, prepared.
22 Guan fi mmerantebere mu akɔnnɔ ho, na tiw nneɛma a ɛho tew te sɛ: trenee, gyidi, ɔdɔ ne asomdwoe a ɛka wo ne wɔn a wofi koma pa mu bɔ mu frɛ Awurade ma ɔboa no akyi.
But, from the youthful covetings, flee! and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, along with them who call upon the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 Mfa wo ho nhyehyɛ nkwasea akyinnye a ɛmfa hwee mma no mu, efisɛ ɛde akasakasa ba.
But, from the foolish and undisciplined questionings, excuse thyself, knowing that they gender strifes;
24 Ɛnsɛ sɛ Awurade somfo ne obi nya akasakasa. Ɛsɛ sɛ ɔyɛ ayamye ma obiara. Ɛsɛ sɛ ɔyɛ ɔkyerɛkyerɛfo pa a ɔwɔ boasetɔ nso
And, a servant of the Lord, ought not to strive, but to be, gentle, towards all, apt in teaching, ready to endure malice, —
25 a sɛ wɔn a wɔne no di asi fom a, ɔtɔ ne bo ase teɛ wɔn, sɛ ebia Onyankopɔn bɛsakra wɔn adwene ama wɔahu nokware no.
In meekness, bringing under discipline them that oppose themselves, lest at any time God should give them repentance unto a personal knowledge of truth,
26 Na wɔn adwene mu ada hɔ na wɔaguan afi ɔbonsam a wakyekyere wɔn ama wɔyɛ nʼapɛde no afiri mu.
And they should wake up to sobriety out of, the adversary’s, snare, —though they have been taken alive by him for, that one’s, will.
