1 Yüceler Yücesi'nin barınağında oturan, Her Şeye Gücü Yeten'in gölgesinde barınır.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High, Under the shadow of the Almighty, will tarry,
2 “O benim sığınağım, kalemdir” derim RAB için, “Tanrım'dır, O'na güvenirim.”
Saying of Yahweh—My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I will trust.
3 Çünkü O seni avcı tuzağından, Ölümcül hastalıktan kurtarır.
For, he, will rescue thee, From the snare of the fowler, From the destructive pestilence.
4 Seni kanatlarının altına alır, Onların altına sığınırsın. O'nun sadakati senin kalkanın, siperin olur.
With his pinion, will he cover thee, And, under his wings, shalt thou seek refuge, A shield and buckler, is his faithfulness.
5 Ne gecenin dehşetinden korkarsın, Ne gündüz uçan oktan, Ne karanlıkta dolaşan hastalıktan, Ne de öğleyin yok eden kırgından.
Thou shalt not be afraid, Of the dread of the night, Of the arrow that flieth by day;
Of the pestilence that, in darkness, doth walk, Of the plague that layeth waste at noonday.
7 Yanında bin kişi, Sağında on bin kişi kırılsa bile, Sana dokunmaz.
There shall fall, at thy side, a thousand, Yea, myriads, at thy right hand, Unto thee, shall it not come nigh;
8 Sen yalnız kendi gözlerinle seyredecek, Kötülerin cezasını göreceksin.
Save only, with thine own eyes, shalt thou discern, And, the recompense of the lawless, shalt thou see.
9 Sen RAB'bi kendine sığınak, Yüceler Yücesi'ni konut edindiğin için,
Because, thou, [hast made] Yahweh, my refuge, —The Most High, thou hast made thy dwelling-place,
10 Başına kötülük gelmeyecek, Çadırına felaket yaklaşmayacak.
There shall not be sent unto thee misfortune, Nor shall, plague, come near into thy tent;
11 Çünkü Tanrı meleklerine buyruk verecek, Gideceğin her yerde seni korusunlar diye.
For, his messengers, will he charge concerning thee, To keep thee, in all thy ways;
12 Elleri üzerinde taşıyacaklar seni, Ayağın bir taşa çarpmasın diye.
On hands, will they bear thee up, Lest thou strike, against a stone, thy foot;
13 Aslanın, kobranın üzerine basıp geçeceksin, Genç aslanı, yılanı çiğneyeceksin.
On the lion and adder, shalt thou tread, Shalt trample on young lion and crocodile.
14 “Beni sevdiği için Onu kurtaracağım” diyor RAB, “Beni iyi tanıdığı için Ona kale olacağım.
Because, on me, he hath set firm his love, Therefore will I deliver him, I will set him on high, Because he hath known my Name;
15 Bana seslenince onu yanıtlayacağım, Sıkıntıda onun yanında olacağım, Kurtarıp yücelteceğim onu.
He shall call me, and I will answer him, With him, will, I, be, in distress, I will rescue him, and will honour him;
16 Onu uzun ömürle doyuracak, Ona kurtarışımı göstereceğim.”
With length of days, will I satisfy him, And will show him my salvation.
