Yuhanna 1
1 Başlangıçta Söz vardı. Söz Tanrı'yla birlikteydi ve Söz Tanrı'ydı.
In the beginning was that Word, and that Word was with God, and that Word was God.
2 Başlangıçta O, Tanrı'yla birlikteydi.
This same was in the beginning with God.
3 Her şey O'nun aracılığıyla var oldu, var olan hiçbir şey O'nsuz olmadı.
All things were made by it, and without it was made nothing that was made.
4 Yaşam O'ndaydı ve yaşam insanların ışığıydı.
In it was life, and that life was the light of men.
5 Işık karanlıkta parlar. Karanlık onu alt edemedi.
And that light shineth in the darkenesse, and the darkenesse comprehended it not.
6 Tanrı'nın gönderdiği Yahya adlı bir adam ortaya çıktı.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was Iohn.
7 Tanıklık amacıyla, ışığa tanıklık etsin ve herkes onun aracılığıyla iman etsin diye geldi.
This same came for a witnesse, to beare witnesse of that light, that all men through him might beleeue.
8 Kendisi ışık değildi, ama ışığa tanıklık etmeye geldi.
He was not that light, but was sent to beare witnesse of that light.
9 Dünyaya gelen, her insanı aydınlatan gerçek ışık vardı.
This was that true light, which lighteth euery man that commeth into the world.
10 O, dünyadaydı, dünya O'nun aracılığıyla var oldu, ama dünya O'nu tanımadı.
He was in the world, and the worlde was made by him: and the worlde knewe him not.
11 Kendi yurduna geldi, ama kendi halkı O'nu kabul etmedi.
He came vnto his owne, and his owne receiued him not.
12 Kendisini kabul edip adına iman edenlerin hepsine Tanrı'nın çocukları olma hakkını verdi.
But as many as receiued him, to them he gaue prerogatiue to be the sonnes of God, euen to them that beleeue in his Name.
13 Onlar ne kandan, ne beden ne de insan isteğinden doğdular; tersine, Tanrı'dan doğdular.
Which are borne not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of ye wil of man, but of God.
14 Söz, insan olup aramızda yaşadı. O'nun yüceliğini –Baba'dan gelen, lütuf ve gerçekle dolu biricik Oğul'un yüceliğini– gördük.
And that Word was made flesh, and dwelt among vs, (and we sawe the glorie thereof, as the glorie of the onely begotten Sonne of the Father) full of grace and trueth.
15 Yahya O'na tanıklık etti. Yüksek sesle şöyle dedi: “‘Benden sonra gelen benden üstündür. Çünkü O benden önce vardı’ diye sözünü ettiğim kişi budur.”
Iohn bare witnesse of him, and cryed, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that commeth after me, was before me: for he was better then I.
16 Nitekim hepimiz O'nun doluluğundan lütuf üzerine lütuf aldık.
And of his fulnesse haue all we receiued, and grace for grace.
17 Kutsal Yasa Musa aracılığıyla verildi, ama lütuf ve gerçek İsa Mesih aracılığıyla geldi.
For the Lawe was giuen by Moses, but grace, and trueth came by Iesus Christ.
18 Tanrı'yı hiçbir zaman hiç kimse görmedi. Baba'nın bağrında bulunan ve Tanrı olan biricik Oğul O'nu tanıttı.
No man hath seene God at any time: that onely begotten Sonne, which is in the bosome of the Father, he hath declared him.
19 Yahudi yetkililer Yahya'ya, “Sen kimsin?” diye sormak üzere Yeruşalim'den kâhinlerle Levililer'i gönderdikleri zaman Yahya'nın tanıklığı şöyle oldu –açıkça konuştu, inkâr etmedi– “Ben Mesih değilim” diye açıkça konuştu.
Then this is the record of Iohn, when the Iewes sent Priestes and Leuites from Hierusalem, to aske him, Who art thou?
And he confessed and denied not, and said plainely, I am not that Christ.
21 Onlar da kendisine, “Öyleyse sen kimsin? İlyas mısın?” diye sordular. O da, “Değilim” dedi. “Sen beklediğimiz peygamber misin?” sorusuna, “Hayır” yanıtını verdi.
And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he said, I am not. Art thou that Prophet? And he answered, No.
22 Bu kez, “Kim olduğunu söyle de bizi gönderenlere bir yanıt verelim” dediler. “Kendin için ne diyorsun?”
Then said they vnto him, Who art thou, that we may giue an answere to them that sent vs? What sayest thou of thy selfe?
23 Yahya, “Peygamber Yeşaya'nın dediği gibi, ‘Rab'bin yolunu düzleyin’ diye çölde haykıranın sesiyim ben” dedi.
He said, I am the voyce of him that cryeth in the wildernesse, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the Prophet Esaias.
24 Yahya'ya gönderilen bazı Ferisiler ona, “Sen Mesih, İlyas ya da beklediğimiz peygamber değilsen, niye vaftiz ediyorsun?” diye sordular.
Nowe they which were sent, were of the Pharises.
And they asked him, and saide vnto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, neither Elias, nor that Prophet?
26 Yahya onlara şöyle yanıt verdi: “Ben suyla vaftiz ediyorum, ama aranızda tanımadığınız biri duruyor.
Iohn answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there is one among you, whom ye knowe not.
27 Benden sonra gelen O'dur. Ben O'nun çarığının bağını çözmeye bile layık değilim.”
He it is that commeth after me, which was before me, whose shoe latchet I am not worthie to vnloose.
28 Bütün bunlar Şeria Irmağı'nın ötesinde bulunan Beytanya'da, Yahya'nın vaftiz ettiği yerde oldu.
These things were done in Bethabara beyond Iordan, where Iohn did baptize.
29 Yahya ertesi gün İsa'nın kendisine doğru geldiğini görünce şöyle dedi: “İşte, dünyanın günahını ortadan kaldıran Tanrı Kuzusu!
The next day Iohn, seeth Iesus comming vnto him, and saith, Beholde that Lambe of God, which taketh away the sinne of the world.
30 Kendisi için, ‘Benden sonra biri geliyor, O benden üstündür. Çünkü O benden önce vardı’ dediğim kişi işte budur.
This is he of whom I saide, After me commeth a man, which was before me: for he was better then I.
31 Ben O'nu tanımıyordum, ama İsrail'in O'nu tanıması için ben suyla vaftiz ederek geldim.”
And I knewe him not: but because he should be declared to Israel, therefore am I come, baptizing with water.
32 Yahya tanıklığını şöyle sürdürdü: “Ruh'un güvercin gibi gökten indiğini, O'nun üzerinde durduğunu gördüm.
So Iohn bare recorde, saying, I behelde that Spirit come downe from heauen, like a doue, and it abode vpon him,
33 Ben O'nu tanımıyordum. Ama suyla vaftiz etmek için beni gönderen, ‘Ruh'un kimin üzerine inip durduğunu görürsen, Kutsal Ruh'la vaftiz eden O'dur’ dedi.
And I knewe him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, he saide vnto me, Vpon whom thou shalt see that Spirit come downe, and tary still on him, that is he which baptizeth with the holy Ghost.
34 Ben de gördüm ve ‘Tanrı'nın Oğlu budur’ diye tanıklık ettim.”
And I sawe, and bare record that this is that Sonne of God.
35 Ertesi gün Yahya yine öğrencilerinden ikisiyle birlikteydi.
The next day, Iohn stoode againe, and two of his disciples.
36 Oradan geçen İsa'ya bakarak, “İşte Tanrı Kuzusu!” dedi.
And he behelde Iesus walking by, and said, Beholde that Lambe of God.
37 Onun söylediklerini duyan iki öğrenci İsa'nın ardından gitti.
And the two disciples heard him speake, and followed Iesus.
38 İsa arkasına dönüp ardından geldiklerini görünce, “Ne arıyorsunuz?” diye sordu. Onlar da, “Rabbî, nerede oturuyorsun?” dediler. Rabbî, öğretmenim anlamına gelir.
Then Iesus turned about, and saw them follow, and saide vnto them, What seeke ye? And they saide vnto him, Rabbi (which is to say by interpretation, Master) where dwellest thou?
39 İsa, “Gelin, görün” dedi. Gidip O'nun nerede oturduğunu gördüler ve o gün O'nunla kaldılar. Saat dört sularıydı.
He saide vnto them, Come, and see. They came and sawe where hee dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth houre.
40 Yahya'yı işitip İsa'nın ardından giden iki kişiden biri Simun Petrus'un kardeşi Andreas'tı.
Andrew, Simon Peters brother, was one of the two which had heard it of Iohn, and that followed him.
41 Andreas önce kendi kardeşi Simun'u bularak ona, “Biz Mesih'i bulduk” dedi. Mesih, meshedilmiş anlamına gelir.
The same founde his brother Simon first, and said vnto him, We haue founde that Messias, which is by interpretation, that Christ.
42 Andreas kardeşini İsa'ya götürdü. İsa ona baktı, “Sen Yuhanna'nın oğlu Simun'sun. Kefas diye çağrılacaksın” dedi. Kefas, kaya anlamına gelir.
And he brought him to Iesus. And Iesus behelde him, and saide, Thou art Simon the sonne of Iona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, a stone.
43 Ertesi gün İsa, Celile'ye gitmeye karar verdi. Filipus'u bulup ona, “Ardımdan gel” dedi.
The day following, Iesus woulde goe into Galile, and founde Philip, and said vnto him, Followe me.
44 Filipus da Andreas ile Petrus'un kenti olan Beytsayda'dandı.
Nowe Philip was of Bethsaida, the citie of Andrew and Peter.
45 Filipus, Natanel'i bularak ona, “Musa'nın Kutsal Yasa'da hakkında yazdığı, peygamberlerin de sözünü ettiği kişiyi, Yusuf oğlu Nasıralı İsa'yı bulduk” dedi.
Philippe founde Nathanael, and saide vnto him, Wee haue founde him of whom Moses did write in the Lawe, and the Prophetes, Iesus that sonne of Ioseph, that was of Nazareth.
46 Natanel Filipus'a, “Nasıra'dan iyi bir şey çıkabilir mi?” diye sordu. Filipus, “Gel de gör” dedi.
Then Nathanael sayde vnto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saide to him, Come, and see.
47 İsa, Natanel'in kendisine doğru geldiğini görünce onun için, “İşte, içinde hile olmayan gerçek bir İsrailli!” dedi.
Iesus sawe Nathanael comming to him, and saide of him, Beholde in deede an Israelite, in whom is no guile.
48 Natanel, “Beni nereden tanıyorsun?” diye sordu. İsa, “Filipus çağırmadan önce seni incir ağacının altında gördüm” yanıtını verdi.
Nathanael sayde vnto him, Whence knewest thou mee? Iesus answered, and sayd vnto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast vnder the figge tree, I sawe thee.
49 Natanel, “Rabbî, sen Tanrı'nın Oğlu'sun, sen İsrail'in Kralı'sın!” dedi.
Nathanael answered, and saide vnto him, Rabbi, thou art that Sonne of God: thou art that King of Israel.
50 İsa ona dedi ki, “Seni incir ağacının altında gördüğümü söylediğim için mi inanıyorsun? Bunlardan daha büyük şeyler göreceksin.”
Iesus answered, and sayde vnto him, Because I sayde vnto thee, I sawe thee vnder the figtree, beleeuest thou? thou shalt see greater things then these.
51 Sonra da, “Size doğrusunu söyleyeyim, göğün açıldığını, Tanrı meleklerinin İnsanoğlu üzerinde yükselip indiklerini göreceksiniz” dedi.
And he saide vnto him, Verely, verely I say vnto you, hereafter shall yee see heauen open, and the Angels of God ascending, and descending vpon that Sonne of man.
