Yuhanna 19
1 O zaman Pilatus İsa'yı tutup kamçılattı.
THEN Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
2 Askerler de dikenlerden bir taç örüp O'nun başına geçirdiler. Sonra O'na mor bir kaftan giydirdiler.
And the soldiers having platted a crown of thorns, put it on his head, and they clothed him in a purple robe,
3 Önüne geliyor, “Selam, ey Yahudiler'in Kralı!” diyor, yüzüne tokat atıyorlardı.
and said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they gave him slaps on the face with their hands.
4 Pilatus yine dışarı çıktı. Yahudiler'e, “İşte, O'nu dışarıya, size getiriyorum. O'nda hiçbir suç bulmadığımı bilesiniz” dedi.
Then again went Pilate out, and said to them, Behold, I bring him out to you, that ye may know that I find in him no fault at all.
5 Böylece İsa, başındaki dikenli taç ve üzerindeki mor kaftanla dışarı çıktı. Pilatus onlara, “İşte o adam!” dedi.
Then came Jesus out, bearing the thorny crown, and the purple robe. And he said to them, Behold the man!
6 Başkâhinler ve görevliler İsa'yı görünce, “Çarmıha ger, çarmıha ger!” diye bağrıştılar. Pilatus, “O'nu siz alıp çarmıha gerin!” dedi. “Ben O'nda bir suç bulamıyorum!”
When the chief priests therefore and the officers saw him, they cried vociferously, saying, Crucify him! crucify him! Pilate saith to them, Take him yourselves, and crucify him: for I have not found in him a fault.
7 Yahudiler şu karşılığı verdiler: “Bizim bir yasamız var, bu yasaya göre O'nun ölmesi gerekir. Çünkü kendisinin Tanrı Oğlu olduğunu ileri sürüyor.”
The Jews replied to him, We have a law, and according to our law he ought to die, because he hath made himself the Son of God.
8 Pilatus bu sözü işitince daha çok korktu.
When Pilate then heard this saying, he was the more afraid:
9 Yine vali konağına girip İsa'ya, “Sen nereden geliyorsun?” diye sordu. İsa ona yanıt vermedi.
and entered into the praetorium again, and saith to Jesus, From whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.
10 Pilatus, “Benimle konuşmayacak mısın?” dedi. “Seni salıvermeye de, çarmıha germeye de yetkim olduğunu bilmiyor musun?”
Then saith Pilate to him, Dost thou not speak to me? dost thou not know that I have power to crucify thee, and that I have power to release thee?
11 İsa, “Sana gökten verilmeseydi, benim üzerimde hiçbir yetkin olmazdı” diye karşılık verdi. “Bu nedenle beni sana teslim edenin günahı daha büyüktür.”
Jesus answered, Thou wouldest have had no authority over me, unless it had been given thee from above: for this reason, he that hath delivered me up to thee hath the greater crime.
12 Bunun üzerine Pilatus İsa'yı salıvermek istedi. Ama Yahudiler, “Bu adamı salıverirsen, Sezar'ın dostu değilsin!” diye bağrıştılar. “Kral olduğunu ileri süren herkes Sezar'a karşı gelmiş olur.”
Upon this Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews clamoured, saying, If thou release this fellow, thou art no friend of Caesar’s: every one who professes himself a king, speaks in opposition to Caesar.
13 Pilatus bu sözleri işitince İsa'yı dışarı çıkardı. Taş Döşeme –İbranice'de Gabbata– denilen yerde yargı kürsüsüne oturdu.
When Pilate therefore heard this speech, he brought Jesus out, and sat down on the judgment seat, in a place called the Stone Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.
14 Fısıh Bayramı'na Hazırlık Günü'ydü. Saat on iki sularıydı. Pilatus Yahudiler'e, “İşte, sizin Kralınız!” dedi.
And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith to the Jews, Behold your King!
15 Onlar, “Yok et O'nu! Yok et, çarmıha ger!” diye bağrıştılar. Pilatus, “Kralınızı mı çarmıha gereyim?” diye sordu. Başkâhinler, “Sezar'dan başka kralımız yok!” karşılığını verdiler.
But they cried vociferously, Away with him, away! crucify him! Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.
16 Bunun üzerine Pilatus İsa'yı, çarmıha gerilmek üzere onlara teslim etti.
Then delivered he him therefore unto them, that he should be crucified. And they took Jesus and led him away.
17 Askerler İsa'yı alıp götürdüler. İsa çarmıhını kendisi taşıyıp Kafatası –İbranice'de Golgota– denilen yere çıktı.
And carrying his cross he went forth to a place called the Place of a Skull, which in the Hebrew is termed Golgotha:
18 Orada O'nu ve iki kişiyi daha çarmıha gerdiler. Biri bir yanda, öbürü öteki yanda, İsa ise ortadaydı.
where they crucified him, and two others with him, on this side and on that, and in the midst Jesus.
19 Pilatus bir de yafta yazıp çarmıhın üzerine astırdı. Yaftada şöyle yazılıydı: NASIRALI İSA - YAHUDİLER'İN KRALI
And Pilate also wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And this was the writing: JESUS THE NAZAREAN, THE KING OF THE JEWS,
20 İsa'nın çarmıha gerildiği yer kente yakındı. Böylece İbranice, Latince ve Grekçe yazılan bu yaftayı Yahudiler'in birçoğu okudu.
This title then many of the Jews read: for the spot where Jesus was crucified was nigh unto the city: and it was written in Hebrew, in Greek, and in Latin.
21 Bu yüzden Yahudi başkâhinler Pilatus'a, “‘Yahudiler'in Kralı’ diye yazma” dediler. “Kendisi, ‘Ben Yahudiler'in Kralı'yım dedi’ diye yaz.”
The chief priests of the Jews then said to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.
22 Pilatus, “Ne yazdımsa yazdım” karşılığını verdi.
Pilate answered, What I have written, I have written.
23 Askerler İsa'yı çarmıha gerdikten sonra giysilerini alıp her birine birer pay düşecek biçimde dört parçaya böldüler. Mintanını da aldılar. Mintan boydan boya tek parça dikişsiz bir dokumaydı.
Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, for each soldier a part; and his vest: now the vest was without a seam, woven from the upper parts throughout the whole.
24 Birbirlerine, “Bunu yırtmayalım” dediler, “Kime düşecek diye kura çekelim.” Bu olay, şu Kutsal Yazı yerine gelsin diye oldu: “Giysilerimi aralarında paylaştılar, Elbisem üzerine kura çektiler.” Bunları askerler yaptı.
They said therefore one to another, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, “They parted my garments among them, and for my vest they cast lots.” So the soldiers therefore did these things.
25 İsa'nın çarmıhının yanında ise annesi, teyzesi, Klopas'ın karısı Meryem ve Mecdelli Meryem duruyordu.
Now beside the cross of Jesus stood his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleopas, and Mary Magdalene.
26 İsa, annesiyle sevdiği öğrencinin yakınında durduğunu görünce annesine, “Anne, işte oğlun!” dedi.
When Jesus then beheld his mother, and the disciple whom he loved, standing by, he saith to his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
27 Sonra öğrenciye, “İşte, annen!” dedi. O andan itibaren bu öğrenci İsa'nın annesini kendi evine aldı.
Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour the disciple took her unto his own home.
28 Daha sonra İsa, her şeyin artık tamamlandığını bilerek Kutsal Yazı yerine gelsin diye, “Susadım!” dedi.
After this, Jesus, conscious that all things were now finished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
29 Orada ekşi şarap dolu bir kap vardı. Şaraba batırılmış bir süngeri mercanköşk dalına takarak O'nun ağzına uzattılar.
Now there was placed a vessel full of vinegar: they then filling a spunge with the vinegar, and putting it on a stick of hyssop, carried it to his mouth.
30 İsa şarabı tadınca, “Tamamlandı!” dedi ve başını eğerek ruhunu teslim etti.
When therefore Jesus had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and inclining his head, he surrendered up his spirit.
31 Yahudi yetkililer Pilatus'tan çarmıha gerilenlerin bacaklarının kırılmasını ve cesetlerin kaldırılmasını istediler. Hazırlık Günü olduğundan, cesetlerin Şabat Günü çarmıhta kalmasını istemiyorlardı. Çünkü o Şabat Günü büyük bayramdı.
The Jews therefore, as it was the preparation, that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the sabbath, (for that sabbath-day was a great day, ) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
32 Bunun üzerine askerler gidip birinci adamın, sonra da İsa'yla birlikte çarmıha gerilen öteki adamın bacaklarını kırdılar.
Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other who was crucified with him.
33 İsa'ya gelince O'nun ölmüş olduğunu gördüler. Bu yüzden bacaklarını kırmadılar.
But when they came to Jesus, as they saw that he was already dead, they brake not his legs:
34 Ama askerlerden biri O'nun böğrünü mızrakla deldi. Böğründen hemen kan ve su aktı.
but one of the soldiers with his lance pierced his side, and immediately there gushed out blood and water.
35 Bunu gören adam tanıklık etmiştir ve tanıklığı doğrudur. Doğruyu söylediğini bilir. Siz de iman edesiniz diye tanıklık etmiştir.
And he that saw it bore witness, and we know that his testimony is true: and he himself is conscious that he speaketh what is true, that ye might believe.
36 Bunlar, “O'nun bir tek kemiği kırılmayacak” diyen Kutsal Yazı'nın yerine gelmesi için oldu.
Now these things were done, that the scripture might be fulfilled, “A bone of him shall not be broken.”
37 Yine başka bir Yazı'da, “Bedenini deştiklerine bakacaklar” deniyor.
And again another scripture saith, “They shall look on him whom they have pierced.”
38 Bundan sonra Aramatyalı Yusuf, İsa'nın cesedini kaldırmak için Pilatus'a başvurdu. Yusuf, İsa'nın öğrencisiydi, ama Yahudi yetkililerden korktuğundan bunu gizli tutuyordu. Pilatus izin verince, Yusuf gelip İsa'nın cesedini kaldırdı.
And after these things Joseph of Arimathea, (being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, ) besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus and Pilate permitted him. Then he came and took away the body of Jesus.
39 Daha önce geceleyin İsa'nın yanına gelen Nikodim de otuz litre kadar karışık mür ve sarısabır özü alarak geldi.
And Nicodemus, who had come to Jesus by night formerly, came also, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred weight.
40 İkisi, İsa'nın cesedini alıp Yahudiler'in gömme geleneğine uygun olarak onu baharatla keten bezlere sardılar.
Then they took the body, and bound it with swathes together with the aromatics, as the custom is with the Jews to bury.
41 İsa'nın çarmıha gerildiği yerde bir bahçe, bu bahçenin içinde de henüz hiç kimsenin konulmadığı yeni bir mezar vardı.
And there was near the spot were he was crucified a garden and in the garden a new tomb, wherein no person had ever yet been laid.
42 O gün Yahudiler'in Hazırlık Günü'ydü. Mezar da yakın olduğundan İsa'yı oraya koydular.
Because of the preparation of the Jews therefore, they laid Jesus there; for the sepulchre was just by.
