< Loma 5 >

1 Ko ia ʻi he fakatonuhiaʻi ʻakitautolu ʻe he tui, ʻoku tau melino ai mo e ʻOtua ʻi hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi:
Then being iustified by faith, we haue peace toward God through our Lord Iesus Christ.
2 ‌ʻAia ʻoku tau maʻu ai foki ʻae hūʻanga ʻi he tui ki he monūʻia ni ʻoku tau tuʻu ai, pea fiefia ʻi he ʻamanaki lelei ki he hakeakiʻi mei he ʻOtua.
By who also through faith, we haue had this accesse into this grace, wherein we stand, and reioyce vnder ye hope of the glory of God.
3 Pea ʻoku ʻikai ke ngata ai, ka ʻoku tau vikiviki ʻi he ngaahi mamahi foki: ʻi heʻetau ʻilo ʻoku tupu mei he mamahi ʻae faʻa kātaki;
Neither that onely, but also we reioyce in tribulations, knowing that tribulation bringeth forth patience,
4 Pea mei he faʻa kātaki, ʻae ʻilo; pea mei he ʻilo, ʻae ʻamanaki lelei:
And patience experience, and experience hope,
5 Pea ʻoku ʻikai fakamā ʻe he ʻamanaki lelei; he koeʻuhi kuo lilingi ʻae ʻofa ʻae ʻOtua ki hotau loto ʻi he Laumālie Māʻoniʻoni, ʻaia kuo foaki kiate kitautolu.
And hope maketh not ashamed, because the loue of God is shed abroade in our heartes by the holy Ghost, which is giuen vnto vs.
6 He naʻe lolotonga ʻetau vaivai ʻaupito, pea pekia ʻa Kalaisi ʻi he kuonga tuʻutuʻumālie koeʻuhi ko e taʻelotu.
For Christ, when we were yet of no strength, at his time died for the vngodly.
7 ‌ʻE meimei ʻikai ʻaupito [fie ]mate ha tokotaha koeʻuhi ko e tangata angatonu [pē]: ka ʻe faʻa fai ʻapē ke mate ha tokotaha koeʻuhi ko e tangata angalelei.
Doutles one will scarce die for a righteous man: but yet for a good man it may be that one dare die.
8 Ka ʻoku fakahā ʻe he ʻOtua ʻene ʻofa kiate kitautolu ʻi he meʻa ni, lolotonga ko e kau angahala ʻakitautolu, ne pekia ʻa Kalaisi maʻatautolu.
But God setteth out his loue towards vs, seeing that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for vs.
9 Pea ka ko ia, pea ʻe ʻāsili ʻae fakamoʻui ʻokitautolu mei he houhau ʻiate ia, he kuo fakatonuhiaʻi ʻakitautolu ʻi hono taʻataʻa.
Much more then, being now iustified by his blood, we shalbe saued from wrath through him.
10 He kapau ne fakalelei ʻakitautolu ki he ʻOtua ʻi he pekia ʻa hono ʻAlo, ka ko e ngaahi fili ʻakitautolu, pea tā ʻe ʻāsili hotau fakamoʻui ʻi heʻene moʻui, he kuo tau fakalelei.
For if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Sonne, much more being reconciled, we shalbe saued by his life,
11 Pea ʻoku ʻikai ngata ai, ka ʻoku tau fiefia foki ʻi he ʻOtua ʻi hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi, ʻaia kuo tau maʻu ai ʻae fakalelei.
And not onely so, but we also reioyce in God through our Lord Iesus Christ, by whom we haue nowe receiued the atonement.
12 Pea ko ia, ʻo hangē naʻe hoko mai ʻae angahala ki māmani, mo e mate mei he angahala, ʻi he tangata pe taha; pea naʻe pehē ʻae hoko ʻoe mate ki he kakai kotoa pē, he kuo angahala kotoa pē:
Wherefore, as by one man sinne entred into ye world, and death by sinne, and so death went ouer all men: in who all men haue sinned.
13 (He naʻe ʻi he māmani ʻae angahala ʻo aʻu ki he fono: ka ʻoku ʻikai lau ʻae angahala ʻi he ʻikai ha fono.
For vnto the time of the Law was sinne in the worlde, but sinne is not imputed, while there is no lawe.
But death reigned from Adam to Moses, euen ouer them also that sinned not after the like maner of that transgression of Adam, which was the figure of him that was to come.
15 Ka ʻoku ʻikai ke fai tatau ʻae fai hala mo e foaki ʻofa. He kapau kuo mate ʻae tokolahi ʻi he fai hala ʻae tokotaha, [pehē], kuo aʻu ʻo lahi hake ʻaupito ki he tokolahi ʻae ʻofa ʻae ʻOtua, mo e foaki ʻi he ʻofa, ʻi he tangata pe taha, ko Sisu Kalaisi.
But yet the gift is not so, as is the offence: for if through the offence of that one, many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man Iesus Christ, hath abounded vnto many.
16 Pea ʻoku ʻikai ke fai tatau ʻae fai angahala ʻoe tokotaha pe, mo e foaki ʻofa; he ko e meʻa ʻi he [angahala ]pe taha naʻe fakamaau ai ke malaʻia, ka ko e foaki ʻofa ko e fakatonuhia ia mei he ngaahi angahala lahi.
Neither is the gift so, as that which entred in by one that sinned: for the fault came of one offence vnto condemnation: but the gift is of many offences to iustification.
17 He kapau ʻoku pule ʻae mate mei he tokotaha, ko e meʻa ʻi he fai angahala ʻae tokotaha; [pehē], ʻe ʻāsili ai ʻae pule ʻi he moʻui ʻekinautolu ʻoku maʻu hono lahi ʻaupito ʻoe ʻofa mo e foaki ʻoe fakatonuhia ʻi he tokotaha, ko Sisu Kalaisi.)
For if by the offence of one, death reigned through one, much more shall they which receiue that abundance of grace, and of that gift of that righteousnesse, reigne in life through one, that is, Iesus Christ.
18 Pea ko eni, ʻo hangē kuo hoko ʻi he angahala ʻae tokotaha ʻae fakamalaʻia ki he kakai kotoa pē: pea pehē foki, ko e meʻa ʻi he māʻoniʻoni ʻae tokotaha kuo hoko ʻae fakatonuhia ʻoe moʻui ki he kakai kotoa pē.
Likewise then as by the offence of one, the fault came on all men to condemnation, so by the iustifying of one, the benefite abounded toward all men to the iustification of life.
19 Koeʻuhi ʻo hangē naʻe fakahalaia ʻae tokolahi ʻi he talangataʻa ʻae tangata ʻe tokotaha, pehē, ko e meʻa ʻi he talangofua ʻae tokotaha ʻe fakatonuhiaʻi ʻae tokolahi.
For as by one mans disobedience many were made sinners, so by that obedience of that one shall many also be made righteous.
20 Ka naʻe fakahū mai ʻae fono, pe tupulekina pe ʻae angahala. Ka ko ia naʻe tupulekina ai ʻae angahala, kuo lahi ʻaupito ai hono tupulekina ʻoe ʻofa:
Moreouer the Law entred thereupon that the offence shoulde abound: neuerthelesse, where sinne abounded, there grace abounded much more:
21 Koeʻuhi ke hangē ko e pule ʻae angahala ʻo aʻu ki he mate, ke pehē ʻae pule ʻoe ʻofa ʻi he fakatonuhia ʻo aʻu ki he moʻui taʻengata ʻi hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi. (aiōnios g166)
That as sinne had reigned vnto death, so might grace also reigne by righteousnesse vnto eternall life, through Iesus Christ our Lord. (aiōnios g166)
