1 “Tohi ki he ʻāngelo ʻoe siasi ʻo ʻEfesō; ‘ʻOku folofolaʻaki ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni ʻe ia ʻoku ne kuku ʻae fetuʻu ʻe fitu ʻi hono nima toʻomataʻu, ʻaia ʻoku ʻeveʻeva ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe ngaahi tuʻunga maama koula ʻe fitu;
To the angel of the church in Ephesus, write: These things says he that holds the seven stars in his right hand, that walks in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
2 “ʻOku ou ʻiloʻi hoʻo ngaahi ngāue, mo hoʻo fai feinga, mo hoʻo faʻa kātaki, pea mo hoʻo taʻefaʻakātakiʻi ʻakinautolu ʻoku kovi: pea kuo ke ʻahiʻahiʻi ʻakinautolu ʻoku nau pehē, ko e kau ʻaposetolo ʻakinautolu, ka ʻoku ʻikai, pea kuo ke ʻilo ko e kau loi ʻakinautolu:
I know your works, and your labor, and your patience; and that you can not bear with those who are evil, and that you have tried those who say they are apostles, and are not, and have found them liars;
3 Pea kuo ke faʻa ʻūkuma, ʻo faʻa kātaki, pea koeʻuhi ko hoku hingoa kuo ke ngāue, ʻo ʻikai te ke vaivai.
and that you have patience, and have endured for my name’s sake, and have not fainted.
4 Ka ʻoku ai ʻae meʻa ʻoku ou koviʻia ai kiate koe, koeʻuhi kuo ke mahuʻi mei hoʻo ʻuluaki ʻofa.
But I have this against you, that you have left your first love.
5 Ko ia ke ke manatuʻi ʻaia kuo ke hinga mei ai, pea fakatomala, pea fai ʻae ngaahi ʻuluaki ngāue; ka ʻikai, pea te u haʻu toʻotoʻo kiate koe, ʻo hiki hoʻo tuʻunga maama mei hono potu, ʻo kapau ʻe ʻikai te ke fakatomala.
Remember, therefore, whence you have fallen, and repent, and do your first works; if not, I will come to you quickly, and I will remove your candlestick from its place, unless you repent.
6 Ka ʻoku ke maʻu ʻa eni, ʻoku ke fehiʻa ki he ngaahi ngāue ʻoe kau Nikolaitani, ʻaia ʻoku ou fehiʻa ki ai.
But you have this, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.
7 “Ko ia ia ʻoku ai ʻae telinga, ke fakafanongo ia ki he folofola ʻae Laumālie ki he ngaahi siasi; Ko ia ia te ne ikuna, te u foaki ki ai ke kai mei he ʻakau ʻoe moʻui, ʻaia ʻoku ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe Palataisi ʻoe ʻOtua.”’
He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches: To him that overcomes, I will give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.
8 “Tohi ki he ʻāngelo ʻoe siasi ʻoe kakai Simana; ‘ʻOku folofolaʻaki ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni ʻe he ʻuluaki mo e ki mui, ʻaia naʻe mate, ka kuo moʻui;
And to the angel of the church in Smyrna, write: These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and is alive:
9 “ʻOku ou ʻiloʻi hoʻo ngaahi ngāue, mo hoʻo mamahi, mo hoʻo masiva, (ka ʻoku ke koloaʻia) pea mo e loi ʻanautolu ʻoku pehē, ko e ngaahi Siu ʻakinautolu, ka ʻoku ʻikai, ka ko e falelotu ʻo Sētane.
I know your works, and your affliction, and your poverty, (but you are rich, ) and the impious words of those who say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
10 ‌ʻOua naʻa ke manavahē ki ha meʻa ʻi he ngaahi meʻa ko ia te ke mamahi ai: vakai, ʻe lī ʻe he tēvolo ʻa homou niʻihi ki he fale fakapōpula, ko homou ʻahiʻahiʻi, pea te mou moʻua ʻi he mamahi ʻi he ʻaho ʻe hongofulu―ka ke fai angatonu pe ʻo aʻu ki he mate, pea te u foaki kiate koe ʻae pale ʻoe moʻui.
Fear none of the things which you are about to suffer; behold, the devil will throw some of you into prison, that you may be tried: and you shall have affliction ten days. Be faithful till death, and I will give you the crown of life.
11 “Ko ia ia ʻoku ai ʻae telinga, ke fakafanongo ia ki he folofola ʻae Laumālie ki he ngaahi siasi; “Ko ia ia te ne ikuna, ʻe ʻikai lavea ia ʻe he mate ʻangaua.”’
He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He that overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.
12 “Pea tohi ki he ʻāngelo ʻae siasi ʻo Peakamosi; ‘ʻOku folofolaʻaki ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni ʻe ia ʻoku ʻiate ia ʻae heletā māsila ʻoku fakatoumata;
And to the angel of the church in Pergamos, write: These things says he that has the sharp, two-edged sword;
I know your works, and where you dwell, even where the throne of Satan is: and yet you hold fast my name, and have not denied my faith, even in those days in which Antipas was my faithful witness, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.
14 Ka ʻoku ai ʻae meʻa niʻihi ʻoku ou koviʻia ai kiate koe, koeʻuhi ʻoku ʻiate koe ʻakinautolu ʻoku nau tui ki he akonaki ʻa Pelami, ʻaia naʻa ne akonekina ʻa Pelaki ke lī ʻae tūkiaʻanga ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ngaahi foha ʻo ʻIsileli, ke nau kai ʻae ngaahi meʻa kuo feilaulau ʻaki ki he ngaahi tamapua, pea ke fai ʻae feʻauaki.
Yet I have a few things against you, that you have there those who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling-block before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to practice lewdness.
15 Pea pehē ʻoku ʻiate koe foki ʻakinautolu ʻoku tui ki he akonaki ʻoe kau Nikolaitani, ʻaia ʻoku ou fehiʻa ki ai.
So, also, you have those who hold the teaching of the Nicolaitanes.
16 Fakatomala; ka ʻikai, pea te u haʻu toʻotoʻo kiate koe, pea te u tauʻi ʻakinautolu ʻaki ʻae heletā ʻo hoku fofonga.
Repent, therefore; if not, I will come to you quickly, and I will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
17 “Ko ia ia ʻoku ai ʻae telinga, ke fakafanongo ia ki he folofola ʻae Laumālie ki he ngaahi siasi: Ko ia ia te ne ikuna, te u foaki ai ke ne kai ʻae mana fufū, pea te u ʻatu ki ai mo e foʻi maka hinehina, pea ʻe tohi tongi ʻi he maka ʻae hingoa foʻou, ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai ke ʻilo ʻe ha taha ka ko ia pe ʻoku ne maʻu ia.”’
He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him that overcomes, I will give of the hidden manna; and I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, which no one knows but he that receives it.
18 “Pea tohi ki he ʻāngelo ʻoe siasi ʻi Taiataila; ‘ʻOku folofolaʻaki ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni ʻe he ʻAlo ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻaia ʻoku tatau mo e ulo afi hono fofonga, mo hono vaʻe ʻo hangē ko e palasa ngingila.
And to the angel of the church in Thyatira, write: These things, says the Son of God, who has his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet like fine brass;
19 “ʻOku ou ʻiloʻi hoʻo ngaahi ngāue, mo e ʻofa, mo e tauhi, mo e tui, mo hoʻo faʻa kātaki; mo e lahi hake ʻo hoʻo ngaahi ngāue ki mui ʻi he ʻuluaki.
I know your works, and your love, and your faith, and your service, and your patience, and your works, the last greater than the first.
20 Ka ʻoku ai ʻae meʻa niʻihi ʻoku ou koviʻia ai kiate koe, koeʻuhi ko hoʻo tuku ai pe ʻae fefine ko Sesepeli, ʻaia ʻoku ne ui ia ko e palōfita fefine, pea ʻoku ne akonekina mo oloa ʻeku kau tamaioʻeiki ke fai ʻae feʻauaki, pea ke kai ʻae ngaahi meʻa kuo feilaulau ʻaki ki he ngaahi tamapua.
But I have against you that you suffer that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and teaches and deceives my servants to practice lewdness, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.
21 Pea ne u tuku kiate ia ʻae kuonga ke fakatomala ai ʻi heʻene feʻauaki; ka naʻe ʻikai fakatomala ia.
And I have given her time to repent; and she will not repent of her lewdness.
22 Vakai, teu lī ia ki ha mohenga, mo kinautolu ʻoku fai feʻauaki mo ia, ki he mamahi lahi, ʻo kapau ʻe ʻikai te nau fakatomala ʻi heʻenau ngaahi ngāue.
Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and those who commit adultery with her into great affliction, unless they repent of their deeds.
23 Pea te u tāmateʻi ʻaki ʻae mate ʻa ʻene fānau; pea ʻe ʻilo ai ʻe he ngaahi siasi kotoa pē, ko au ia ʻoku ou hakule ʻae ngaahi holi mo e loto: pea te u ʻatu kiate kimoutolu taki taha ʻo fakatatau ki hoʻomou ngaahi ngāue.
And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he that searches the reins and the hearts: and I will give to every one of you according to your works.
24 “Ka ʻoku ou pehē kiate kimoutolu, mo hono toe ʻi Taiataila, ʻakinautolu naʻe ʻikai maʻu ʻae akonaki ni, pea naʻe ʻikai ke ʻilo ʻae ngaahi meʻa loloto ʻo Sētane, ʻo hangē ko ʻenau lau; ʻE ʻikai te u ʻai mo ha kavenga kehe kiate kimoutolu.
But I say to you, the rest who are in Thyatira, as many as have not this teaching, and who have not known the depths of Satan, (as they call them, ) I will lay on you no other burden:
25 Ka ko ia ʻoku mou maʻu, kuku maʻu kaeʻoua ke u haʻu.
but what you have, hold fast till I come.
26 Pea ko ia ia ʻe ikuna, pea ne fai ki heʻeku ngaahi ngāue ʻo aʻu ki he ngataʻanga, ko ia ia te u foaki ki ai ʻae mālohi ki he ngaahi puleʻanga:
And to him that overcomes, and keeps my works to the end, will I give authority over the nations;
and he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken in pieces, as I have received from my Father:
28 Pea te u foaki kiate ia ʻae fetuʻu pongipongi.
and I will give him the morning star.
29 “Ko ia ia ʻoku ai ʻae telinga, ke fakafanongo ia ki he folofola ʻae Laumālie ki he ngaahi siasi.”’
He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
