< Fakahā 12 >

1 Pea naʻe hā mai ʻae meʻa fakaofo lahi ʻi he langi; ko e fefine kuo kofuʻaki ʻae laʻā, pea ʻi hono lalo vaʻe ʻae māhina, pea naʻe ʻi hono ʻulu ʻae pale ʻoe fetuʻu ʻe hongofulu ma ua:
And there appeared a great wonder in heauen: A woman clothed with the sunne, and the moone was vnder her feete, and vpon her head a crowne of twelue starres.
2 Pea naʻe feitama ia pea tangi, ʻo langā, pea mamahi ke fānau.
And she was with childe, and cried traueiling in birth, and was pained readie to be deliuered.
3 Pea naʻe hā mai mo e meʻa fakaofo ʻe taha ʻi he langi; pea vakai, ko e fuʻu ngata lahi naʻe kulokula, kuo fitu hono ʻulu, pea naʻe ʻi ai ʻae nifo ʻe hongofulu, pea fitu ʻae pale ʻi hono ngaahi ʻulu.
And there appeared another wonder in heaue: for beholde, a great red dragon hauing seuen heads, and ten hornes, and seuen crownes vpon his heads:
4 Pea naʻe toho ʻaki ʻe hono iku hono tolu ʻoe vahe ʻoe ngaahi fetuʻu ʻo e langi, ʻo ne lī hifo ʻakinautolu ki he fonua: pea naʻe tuʻu ʻae fuʻu ngata ʻi he ʻao ʻoe fefine naʻe teu ke fānau, koeʻuhi, ka fanauʻi leva ʻene tamasiʻi, ke ne kai ʻo ʻosi ia.
And his taile drew the thirde part of the starres of heauen, and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman, which was ready to be deliuered, to deuoure her childe, when shee had brought it foorth.
5 Pea ne fanauʻi ʻae tamasiʻi tangata, ʻaia te ne puleʻi ʻae puleʻanga kotoa pē ʻaki ʻae vaʻa ukamea: pea naʻe toʻo hake ʻene tamasiʻi ki he ʻOtua, pea ki hono nofoʻa fakaʻeiʻeiki.
So shee brought foorth a man childe, which should rule all nations with a rod of yron: and that her childe was taken vp vnto God and to his throne.
6 Pea naʻe hola ʻae fefine ki he toafa, ʻaia ʻoku ai hono potu kuo teu ʻe he ʻOtua, koeʻuhi ke nau fafanga ia ʻi ai ko e ʻaho ʻe taha afe ma uangeau ma onongofulu.
And the woman fled into wildernes where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feede her there a thousande, two hundreth and three score dayes.
7 Pea naʻe fai ʻa ʻetau ʻi he langi: ko Maikeli mo ʻene kau ʻāngelo naʻa nau tauʻi ʻae fuʻu ngata; pea naʻe tau ʻae fuʻu ngata mo ʻene kau ʻāngelo.
And there was a battell in heauen, Michael and his Angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels.
8 Ka naʻe ʻikai te nau ikuna; pea naʻe ʻikai kei ʻilo hanau potu ʻi he langi.
But they preuailed not, neither was their place found any more in heauen.
9 Pea naʻe lī kituʻa ʻae fuʻu ngata lahi, ʻae ngata motuʻa ko ia, ʻoku ui ko Tēvolo, mo Sētane, ʻaia ʻoku ne kākaaʻi ʻa māmani kotoa pē: naʻe lī ia kituʻa ki he fonua, pea naʻe lī kituʻa mo ia ʻa ʻene kau ʻāngelo.
And the great dragon, that olde serpent, called the deuil and Satan, was cast out, which deceiueth all the world: he was euen cast into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 Pea ne u ongoʻi ʻae leʻo lahi ʻi he langi, naʻe pehē, “Ko eni kuo hoko mai ʻae fakamoʻui, mo e mālohi, mo e puleʻanga ʻo hotau ʻOtua, mo e mālohi ʻo hono Kalaisi: he kuo lī ki lalo ʻae fakakovi ʻo hotau kāinga, ʻaia naʻa ne fakakoviʻi ʻakinautolu ʻi he ʻao ʻo hotau ʻOtua ʻi he ʻaho mo e pō.
Then I heard a loude voyce in heauen, saying, Now is saluation, and strength, and the kingdome of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast downe, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 Pea naʻa nau ikuna ia ʻaki ʻae taʻataʻa ʻoe Lami, mo e lea ʻo ʻenau fakamoʻoni; pea naʻe ʻikai te nau mamae ki heʻenau moʻui ka nau mate.
But they ouercame him by that blood of that Lambe, and by that worde of their testimonie, and they loued not their liues vnto the death.
12 Ko ia ke fiefia, ʻae ngaahi langi, mo kimoutolu ʻoku nofo ai. ʻE malaʻia ʻae kakai ʻoku nofo ʻi he maama na mo e tahi! He kuo ʻalu hifo ʻae tēvolo kiate kimoutolu, kuo ʻita lahi, koeʻuhi ʻoku ne ʻilo ʻoku fuoloa siʻi pe hono kuonga.”
Therefore reioyce, ye heauens, and ye that dwell in them. Wo to the inhabitants of the earth, and of the sea: for the deuill is come downe vnto you, which hath great wrath, knowing that he hath but a short time.
13 Pea ʻi he mamata ʻe he fuʻu ngata kuo lī ia ki he māmani, naʻa ne fakatangaʻi ʻae fefine ne ne fanauʻi ʻae tamasiʻi tangata.
And when the dragon sawe that hee was cast vnto the earth, he persecuted the woman which had brought forth the man childe.
14 Pea naʻe foaki ki he fefine ʻae kapakau ʻe ua ʻoe ʻikale lahi, ke ne puna ʻaki ia ki he toafa, ki hono potu, ʻaia ʻoku tauhi ai ia ʻi ha kuonga, mo e ngaahi kuonga, mo e vaeua mālieʻanga ʻoe kuonga, mei he ʻao ʻoe ngata.
But to the woman were giuen two wings of a great eagle, that she might flie into the wildernes, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and halfe a time, from the presence of the serpent.
15 Pea naʻe puʻaki ʻe he ngata ki he fefine ʻae vai mei hono ngutu ʻo hangē ha vaitafe, koeʻuhi ke ne fai ke ʻauhia ia ʻi he vai.
And the serpent cast out of his mouth water after the woman, like a flood, that he might cause her to be caried away of the flood.
16 Pea naʻe tokoniʻi ʻae fefine ʻe he fonua, pea matoʻo ʻe he fonua hono ngutu, ʻo ne folo hifo ʻae vai, ʻaia naʻe puʻaki ʻe he fuʻu ngata mei hono ngutu.
But the earth holpe the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swalowed vp the flood, which the dragon had cast out of his mouth.
Then the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went and made warre with the remnant of her seede, which keepe the comaundements of God, and haue the testimonie of Iesus Christ.
