< Fakahā 10 >

1 Pea ne u mamata ki ha ʻāngelo mālohi ʻe tokotaha ʻoku ʻalu hifo mei he langi, kuo kofuʻaki ʻae ʻao: pea naʻe ʻi hono ʻulu ʻae ūmata, pea naʻe tatau hono mata mo e laʻā, pea ko hono vaʻe naʻe tatau mo e pou afi:
And I saw another strong Angel, descending from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet were like columns of fire.
2 Pea naʻe ʻi hono nima ʻae tohi siʻi kuo folahi: pea naʻa ne ʻai hono vaʻe toʻomataʻu ki he tahi, pea mo e toʻohema ki he fonua,
And he held in his hand a small open book. And he stationed his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot upon the land.
3 Pea kalanga leʻo lahi ia, ʻo hangē ko e ngungulu ʻoe laione: pea hili ʻene tangi, naʻe fakaongo honau leʻo ʻe he mana ʻe fitu.
And he cried out with a great voice, in the manner of a lion roaring. And when he had cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices.
4 Pea kuo fakaongo ʻe he mana ʻe fitu honau leʻo, pea u te u ke tohi: pea ne u fanongo ki he leʻo mei he langi ʻoku pehē mai kiate au, “Fakamaʻu ke maʻu ʻae ngaahi meʻa kuo fakaongo mai ʻe he mana ʻe fitu, pea ʻoua naʻa tohi ia.”
And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write. But I heard a voice from heaven, saying to me: “Seal the things that the seven thunders have spoken, and do not write them.”
5 Pea ko e ʻāngelo ʻaia ne u mamata naʻe tuʻu ki he tahi mo e fonua, naʻa ne hiki hono nima ki he langi,
And the Angel, whom I saw standing upon the sea and upon the land, lifted up his hand toward heaven.
6 Pea ne fuakava ʻiate ia ʻoku moʻui ʻo taʻengata pea taʻengata, ʻaia naʻa ne fakatupu ʻae langi, mo e ngaahi meʻa ʻoku ʻi ai, mo e fonua, mo e ngaahi meʻa ʻoku ʻi ai, mo e tahi, mo e ngaahi meʻa ʻoku ʻi ai, ʻe ʻikai kei taʻofia: (aiōn g165)
And he swore by the One who lives forever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that are in it; and the earth, and the things that are in it; and the sea, and the things that are in it: that the time will not be any longer, (aiōn g165)
7 Ka ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻoe leʻo ʻo hono fitu ʻoe ʻāngelo, ʻi he lolotonga ʻo ʻene fakaongo, ʻe fakakakato ʻae ngāue fufū ʻae ʻOtua, ʻo hangē ko ʻene fakahā ki heʻene kau tamaioʻeiki ko e kau palōfita.
but in the days of the voice of the seventh Angel, when he shall begin to sound the trumpet, the mystery of God will be completed, just as he has proclaimed in the Gospel, through his servants the Prophets.
8 Pea ko e leʻo ʻaia ne u fanongo mei he langi ne toe lea mai ia kiate au, ʻo pehē, “ʻAlu, mo ke toʻo ʻae tohi siʻi kuo folahi ʻi he nima ʻoe ʻāngelo ʻaia ʻoku tuʻu ki he tahi mo e fonua.”
And again, I heard a voice from heaven speaking with me and saying: “Go and receive the open book from the hand of the Angel who stands upon the sea and upon the land.”
9 Pea ne u ʻalu ki he ʻāngelo, ʻo pehē kiate ia, “Tuku mai kiate au ʻae tohi siʻi.” Pea pehē ʻe ia kiate au, “ʻAve, pea ke kai ke ʻosi ia; pea ʻe fakakonaʻi ʻe ia ʻa ho kete, ka ʻe melie ia ʻi ho ngutu ʻo hangē ha meʻa huʻamelie.”
And I went to the Angel, saying to him that he should give the book to me. And he said to me: “Receive the book and consume it. And it shall cause bitterness in your stomach, but in your mouth it shall be sweet like honey.”
10 Pea ne u toʻo ʻae tohi siʻi mei he nima ʻoe ʻāngelo, pea ne u kai ia ʻo ʻosi; pea naʻe melie ia ʻi hoku ngutu ʻo hangē ha meʻa huʻamelie: pea kuo u kai leva ia, pea kona ʻa hoku kete.
And I received the book from the hand of the Angel, and I consumed it. And it was sweet like honey in my mouth. And when I had consumed it, my stomach was made bitter.
11 Pea pehē ʻe ia kiate au, “Te ke toe kikite ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ngaahi kakai lahi, mo e ngaahi puleʻanga, mo e kakai lea kehekehe, mo e ngaahi tuʻi.”
And he said to me, “It is necessary for you to prophesy again about many nations and peoples and languages and kings.”
