< Filipai 2 >

If therefore there is any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion,
2 Mou fakakakato ʻeku fiefia, ke mou felototatau pe, ʻo maʻu ʻae ʻofa pe taha, ke mou ʻulungāanga taha pe, mo uouangataha pe.
make my joy full by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;
3 ‌ʻOua naʻa fai ha meʻa ʻe taha ʻi he fakakikihi, pe ʻi he manako ki he fakamālō launoa; ka ʻi he loto angavaivai ke fetoutou femahalo lelei ʻaki hake taki taha ki hono kāinga ʻiate ia.
doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself;
4 Ke ʻoua naʻa taki taha tokanga ki heʻene ngaahi meʻa ʻaʻana pe, kae taki taha tokanga foki ki he ngaahi meʻa ʻae niʻihi.
each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.
5 Ke ʻiate kimoutolu ʻae loto ni, ʻaia foki naʻe ʻia Kalaisi Sisu:
Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,
6 Ko ia, ʻi heʻene ʻi he tatau mo e ʻOtua, naʻe ʻikai pehē ʻe ia ko ha faʻaoa ke na taha mo e ʻOtua:
who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God a thing to be grasped,
7 Ka naʻa ne fakamasivesivaʻi ʻe ia ia ʻo ne toʻo kiate ia ʻae tatau mo e tamaioʻeiki, pea fanauʻi ia ʻi he tatau ʻoe tangata:
but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.
8 Pea kuo ʻilo ia ʻi he tatau ʻoe tangata, naʻa ne fakamoʻulaloaʻi ia, pea talangofua ki he mate, ʻio, ʻae mate ʻi he ʻakau.
And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.
9 Pea ko ia kuo hakeakiʻi ai ia ʻe he ʻOtua ʻo lahi ʻaupito, ʻo ne foaki kiate ia ʻae huafa ʻoku māʻolunga taha pe ʻi he hingoa kotoa pē:
Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name,
10 Koeʻuhi ke tuʻulutui ki he huafa ʻo Sisu ʻae tui ʻo ia kotoa pē ʻoku ʻi he langi mo māmani, mo e lalo māmani;
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,
11 Pea ke fakahā ʻe he ʻelelo kotoa pē ko e ʻEiki ʻa Sisu Kalaisi, ke ongoongolelei ai ʻae ʻOtua ko e Tamai.
and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 Ko ia, ʻe hoku kāinga ʻofeina, ʻo hangē ko hoʻomou talangofua maʻuaipē, ʻo ʻikai ʻi hoku ʻao pe, kae lahi ʻaupito eni ʻi heʻeku mamaʻo, mou ngāue ke lavaʻi hoʻomou moʻui ʻamoutolu ʻi he manavahē mo e tetetete.
So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 He ko e ʻOtua ia ʻoku ne ngāue ʻiate kimoutolu ʻi hono finangalo lelei ke mou loto mo fai ki ai.
For it is God who works in you both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
14 Fai ʻae ngaahi meʻa kotoa pē ʻo taʻelāunga mo e taʻefakakikihi:
Do all things without complaining and arguing,
15 Koeʻuhi ke mou taʻehalaia mo taʻekovi, ko e fānau taʻevalokiʻia ʻae ʻOtua, ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe kakai anga pikopiko mo fefeka, ʻakinautolu ʻoku mou ulo atu ki ai, ʻo hangē ko e ngaahi maama ʻo māmani;
that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without defect in the middle of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world,
16 ‌ʻO takiloa atu ʻae lea ʻoe moʻui; koeʻuhi ke u fiefia ʻi he ʻaho ʻo Kalaisi, ʻi he ʻikai teu lele noa pē, pe ngāue taʻeʻaonga.
holding up the word of life, that I may have something to boast in the day of Christ that I did not run in vain nor labor in vain.
17 ‌ʻIo, pea kapau ʻe felingiʻaki au mo e feilaulau mo e ngāue ʻa hoʻomou tui, ʻoku ou fiefia, mo nekeneka, fakataha mo kimoutolu kotoa pē.
Yes, and if I am poured out on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.
18 Pea ʻi he meʻa pe ko ia foki ke mou fiefia, mo nekeneka fakataha mo au.
In the same way, you also should be glad and rejoice with me.
19 Ka ʻoku ou falala ki he ʻEiki ko Sisu, ke toe siʻi, peau fekau atu ʻa Timote kiate kimoutolu, koeʻuhi ke u fiemālie lelei, ʻo kau ka ʻilo pe ʻoku mou fēfē.
But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered up when I know how you are doing.
20 He ʻoku ʻikai ʻiate au ha taha ʻoku na loto tatau mo ia, ke tokanga moʻoni kiate kimoutolu.
For I have no one else like-minded, who will truly care about you.
21 He ʻoku kumi kotoa pē ʻae ngaahi meʻa ʻanautolu, kae ʻikai ko e ngaahi meʻa ʻa Kalaisi Sisu.
For they all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.
22 Ka ʻoku mou ʻilo ʻae fakamoʻoni ʻoʻona, koeʻuhi, ʻo hangē ko e foha mo e tamai, kuo pehē ʻene ngāue mo au ʻi he ongoongolelei.
But you know that he has proved himself. As a child serves a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the Good News.
23 Ko ia ʻoku ou ʻamanaki ke fekau atu leva ia, ʻo kau ka ʻilo pe ko e hā ʻe fai kiate au.
Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it will go with me.
24 Ka ʻoku ou falala ki he ʻEiki ʻe vave foki ʻeku ʻalu atu ʻaʻaku.
But I trust in the Lord that I myself also will come shortly.
25 Ka naʻaku mahalo, ʻe lelei ʻeku fekau atu kiate kimoutolu ʻa Epafalotaito, ko hoku tokoua, mo e kaunga ngāue, mo e kaunga tau, ka ko hoʻomou faifekau, pea ko ia naʻa ne tauhi ki heʻeku ngaahi masiva.
But I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, fellow soldier, and your apostle and servant of my need,
26 He naʻe manatu lahi ia kiate kimoutolu kotoa pē, pea naʻe mātuʻaki mamahi, ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻomou fanongo naʻe mahaki ia.
since he longed for you all, and was very troubled because you had heard that he was sick.
27 He ko e moʻoni naʻe mahaki ia ʻo mei mate: ka naʻe ʻaloʻofa ʻae ʻOtua kiate ia; ka naʻe ʻikai kiate ia pe, ka kiate au foki, telia naʻaku maʻu ʻae mamahi ki he mamahi.
For indeed he was sick nearly to death, but God had mercy on him, and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow on sorrow.
28 Ko ia ne u fekau toʻotoʻo ai ia, koeʻuhi, ka mou ka toe mamata kiate ia, ke mou fiefia, pea ke siʻi hifo ai ʻeku mamahi.
I have sent him therefore the more diligently, that when you see him again, you may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.
29 Ko ia ke maʻu ia ʻi he ʻEiki ʻi he fiefia kotoa pe; pea mou fakaʻapaʻapa ki he kakai pehē:
Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy, and hold such people in honor,
30 He koeʻuhi ko e meʻa ʻi he ngāue ʻa Kalaisi, naʻe ofi ai ia ki he mate, ʻo ʻikai mamae ia ki heʻene moʻui, ka ne tongia ʻakimoutolu ʻi he tauhi kiate au.
because for the work of Christ he came near to death, risking his life to supply that which was lacking in your service toward me.
