1 Ko e ngaahi fononga eni ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻIsileli, ʻakinautolu naʻe ʻalu atu ʻi he fonua ko ʻIsipite mo ʻenau ngaahi matatau ʻi he nima ʻo Mōsese mo ʻElone.
These were the movements of the people of Israel after they left the land of Egypt by their armed groups under the leadership of Moses and Aaron.
2 Pea naʻe tohi ʻe Mōsese ʻenau fononga atu ʻo fakatatau ki heʻenau ngaahi fononga ʻi he fekau ʻa Sihova: pea ko e ngaahi fononga eni ʻo hangē ko ʻenau ʻalu atu.
Moses wrote down the places from where they left to where they went, as commanded by Yahweh. These were their movements, departure after departure.
3 Pea naʻa nau fononga mei Lamisisi ʻi he ʻuluaki māhina, ʻi hono hongofulu ma nima ʻoe ʻaho ʻi he ʻuluaki māhina; ʻi he pongipongi hake ʻi he hili ʻae laka atu, pea naʻe ʻalu atu ai ʻae fānau ʻa ʻIsileli mo e nima māʻolunga ʻi he ʻao ʻoe kakai ʻIsipite kotoa pē.
They traveled from Rameses during the first month, leaving on the fifteenth day of the first month. On the morning after the Passover, the people of Israel left openly, in the sight of all the Egyptians.
4 He naʻe tanu ʻe he kakai ʻIsipite ʻenau ʻuluaki tama kotoa pē, ʻakinautolu naʻe taaʻi ʻe Sihova ʻiate kinautolu: pea naʻe hoko foki meia Sihova ʻae tautea ki honau ngaahi ʻotua.
This happened while the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, those whom Yahweh had killed among them, for he also inflicted punishment on their gods.
5 Pea naʻe hiki ʻae fānau ʻa ʻIsileli mei Lamisisi ʻonau nofo ʻi Sukote.
The people of Israel set out from Rameses and camped at Succoth.
6 Pea naʻa nau hiki atu mei Sukote ʻonau nofo ʻi ʻEtami, ʻaia ʻoku ʻi he mata toafa.
They set out from Succoth and camped at Etham, on the edge of the wilderness.
7 Pea naʻa nau hiki mei ʻEtami, ʻonau toe foki ki Piheloti, ʻaia ʻoku ʻi he ʻao ʻo Peali-sefoni: pea nau ʻapitanga ʻi he ʻao ʻo Mikitoli.
They set out from Etham and turned back to Pi Hahiroth, which is opposite Baal Zephon, where they camped opposite Migdol.

Then they set out from opposite Pi Hahiroth and passed through the middle of the sea into the wilderness. They traveled three days' journey into the wilderness of Etham and camped at Marah.
9 Pea naʻa nau hiki mei Mala, ʻonau haʻu ki ʻElimi: pea naʻe ʻi ʻElimi ʻae matavai moʻui ʻe hongofulu ma ua, mo e ʻakau ko e ponga ʻe fitungofulu; pea naʻa nau ʻapitanga ʻi ai.
They set out from Marah and arrived at Elim. At Elim were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees. That is where they camped.

Aaron the priest went up Mount Hor at Yahweh's command and died there in the fortieth year after the people of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.

50 Pea naʻe folofola ʻa Sihova kia Mōsese ʻi he ngaahi toafa ʻo Moape ʻo ofi ki Sioatani, mo Seliko, ʻo pehē,
Yahweh spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho and said,
51 “Lea ki he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli, mo ke pehē kiate kinautolu, ʻOka mou ka aʻa ʻi Sioatani ki he fonua ko Kēnani;
“Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, 'When you cross over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,
52 Te mou toki kapusi ʻi homou ʻao ʻae kakai kotoa pē ʻoku nofo ʻi he fonua, pea maumauʻi honau ngaahi fakatātā, mo fakaʻauha honau ngaahi tamapua fakatātā ukamea pea mātuʻaki holoki hifo honau ngaahi potu māʻolunga kotoa pē:
then you must drive out all the land's inhabitants before you. You must destroy all their carved figures. You must destroy all their cast figures and demolish all their high places.
53 Pea te mou kapusi ʻae kakai ʻi he fonua, pea mou nofo ai: he kuo u foaki kiate kimoutolu ʻae fonua ke mou maʻu.
You must take possession of the land and settle in it, because I have given you the land to possess.
54 Pea te mou tufa ʻae fonua ʻi he talotalo ʻae ngaahi tofiʻa ki homou ngaahi faʻahinga: pea ki he tokolahi ke mou tuku honau tofiʻa ke lahi, pea ki he tokosiʻi te mou tuku honau tofiʻa ke siʻi: ʻe ʻi he tangata taki taha, ʻae tofiʻa ʻoe potu kuo ne maʻu ʻi he talotalo, te mou maʻu ia ʻo fakatatau ki he ngaahi faʻahinga ʻo hoʻomou ngaahi tamai
You must inherit the land by lot, according to each clan. To the larger clans you must give a larger share of land, and to the smaller clans you must give a smaller share of land. Wherever the lot falls to each clan, that land will belong to it. You will inherit the land according to your ancestors' tribes.
55 Pea kapau ʻe ʻikai te mou kapusi ʻae kakai ʻoe fonua ʻi homou ʻao; ʻe toki hoko ʻo pehē, ko kinautolu ʻoku mou tuku ke toe ʻiate kinautolu, te nau hoko ko e talatala ki homou mata, mo e ngaahi ʻakau talatala ki homou vakavaka, pea tenau fakafiuʻi ʻakimoutolu ʻi he fonua ʻoku mou nofo ai.
But if you do not drive out the land's inhabitants before you, then the people you allow to stay will become like objects in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will make your lives difficult in the land where you settle.
56 Pea ʻe hoko mo ʻeni foki, te u fai kiate kimoutolu, ʻo hangē ko ia ne u tokanga ke fai kiate kinautolu.”
Then it will happen that what I now intend to do to those people, I will do also to you.'”
