Maʻake 13
1 Pea ʻi heʻene ʻalu mei he falelotu lahi, naʻe pehē ʻene ākonga ʻe toko kiate ia, “ʻEiki, vakai ki hono anga ʻoe ngaahi maka mo e ngaahi fale!”
And as he was going out from the temple, one of his disciples said to him: Teacher, see what stones and what buildings!
2 Pea lea ʻa Sisu, ʻo pehē kiate ia, “ʻOku ke mamata ki he ngaahi fale lahi ni? ʻE ʻikai ha maka kuo fokotuʻu ki ha maka ʻe tuku, ka ʻe laku kotoa pē ki lalo.”
And Jesus answering, said to him: Do you see these great buildings? There shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3 Pea ʻi heʻene nofo ʻi he moʻunga ʻoe ʻOlive, ʻo hangatonu ki he falelotu lahi, naʻe fehuʻi fakafufū kiate ia ʻa Pita mo Semisi mo Sione mo ʻAnitelū, [ʻo pehē! ]
And as he sat on the mount of Olives, opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately:
4 “Fakahā kiate kimautolu, ʻe hoko afe ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni? Pea ko e hā ʻae fakaʻilonga ʻoka fakamoʻoni ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni kotoa pē?”
Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign when all these things are about to be accomplished?
5 Pea fua lea ʻa Sisu, ʻo pehēange kiate kinautolu, “Vakai telia naʻa kākaaʻi ʻakimoutolu ʻe ha taha.
Jesus answering them, began to say: Take heed, lest any one deceive you.
6 Koeʻuhi ʻe haʻu ʻae tokolahi ʻi hoku huafa, ʻo pehē, ‘Ko au ia;’ pea te nau kākaaʻi ʻae tokolahi.
For many will come in my name, saying, I am he, and will deceive many.
7 Pea ka mou ka fanongo ki he ngaahi tau mo e ongoongo ʻoe tau, ʻoua te mou manavahē: koeʻuhi kuo pau ke hoko ia; kae teʻeki [hoko ]ʻae ikuʻanga.
But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, be not troubled; for these things must be: but not yet is the end.
8 Koeʻuhi ʻe tuʻu hake ʻae kakai ki he kakai, mo e puleʻanga ki he puleʻanga; pea ʻe ai ʻae mofuike ʻi he ngaahi potu kehekehe, pea ʻe ai ʻae ngaahi honge mo e ngaahi fakamamahi: ko e kamataʻanga eni ʻoe ngaahi mamahi.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines, and tumults.
9 “Ka mou vakai kiate kimoutolu: he te nau tukuange ʻakimoutolu ki he kau fakamaau; pea ʻe haha ʻakimoutolu ʻi he ngaahi falelotu; pea ʻe ʻomi ʻakimoutolu ki he ʻao ʻoe ngaahi pule mo e ngaahi tuʻi koeʻuhi ko au, ko e fakamoʻoni kiate kinautolu.
These are the beginning of sorrows. But take heed to yourselves; for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be scourged in the synagogues; and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
10 Ka ʻe tomuʻa malangaʻaki ʻae ongoongolelei ki he ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē.
And the gospel must first be preached among all the nations.
11 Pea ka nau ka taki mo tukuange ʻakimoutolu, ʻoua naʻa mou tomuʻa fifili, pe fakakaukau ki he meʻa te mou lea ʻaki: ka ko ia ʻe foaki kiate kimoutolu ʻi he feituʻulaʻā ko ia, ko ia pe te mou lea ʻaki: he ʻoku ʻikai ko kimoutolu ʻoku lea, ka ko e Laumālie Māʻoniʻoni.
But when they lead you to deliver you up, be not anxious beforehand, nor premeditate what you shall speak; but whatever shall be given you in that hour, that do you speak; for it is not you that speak, but the Holy Spirit.
12 Pea ʻe lavakiʻi ʻe he tokotaha ʻa [hono ]tokoua ke mate, mo e tamai ʻae foha; pea ʻe tuʻu hake ʻae fānau ki he mātuʻa, mo pule ke tāmateʻi ʻakinautolu.
Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father the child; and children will rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death;
13 Pea ʻe fehiʻanekina ʻakimoutolu ʻi he kakai fulipē koeʻuhi ko hoku huafa: ka ko ia ʻe kātaki ʻo aʻu ki he ikuʻanga, ko ia ia ʻe moʻui.
and you will be hated by all on my account. But he that endures to the end shall be saved.
14 “Ka ʻoka mou ka mamata ki he ‘fakalielia ʻoe fakaʻauha,’ naʻe lea ki ai ʻa Taniela ko e palōfita, ʻoku tuʻu ʻi he potu ʻoku ʻikai lelei [ke tuʻu ai],” (ko ia ʻoku lau ke tokanga, ) “Pea ʻilonga ai ʻakinautolu ʻoku ʻi Siutea, ke nau feholaki ki he ngaahi moʻunga:
But when you see that detestable thing that makes desolate, which is spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that reads understand, ) then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains;
15 Pea ko ia ʻoku ʻi he tuʻa fale, ke ʻoua naʻa ʻalu hifo ki loto fale, pe hū [ki ai], ke toʻo ha meʻa mei hono fale:
let not him that is on the house-top go down into his house, nor enter in to take any thing from his house;
16 Pea ko ia ʻoku ʻi he ngoue, ke ʻoua naʻa foki ia ki mui ke toʻo mai hono kofu.
and let not him that is in the field turn back to take his mantle.
17 Ka ʻe malaʻia ʻakinautolu ʻoku feitama, pea mo kinautolu ʻoku toutama, ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ko ia!
But alas for those who are with child, and for those who give suck in those days.
18 Pea mou lotu ke ʻoua naʻa hoko hoʻomou hola ʻi he faʻahitaʻu momoko.
And pray that your flight may not be in the winter.
19 He koeʻuhi ʻe ai ha mamahi ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ko ia, ʻaia naʻe ʻikai hano tatau talu hono kamataʻanga ʻo māmani, ʻaia naʻe fakatupu ʻe he ʻOtua, ʻo aʻu ki heni, pea ʻe ʻikai toe pehē.
For these will be the days of affliction, such as has not been from the beginning of the creation which God created, till this time, and will never be.
20 Pea ka ne taʻeʻoua ʻae fakasiʻisiʻi ʻe he ʻEiki ʻae ngaahi ʻaho ko ia, pehē, ʻe ʻikai ha taha ʻe moʻui: ka koeʻuhi ko e kakai fili, ʻaia kuo fili ʻe ia, kuo ne fakasiʻisiʻi ai ʻae ngaahi ʻaho.
And unless the Lord had made those days few, no flesh could be saved: but for the sake of the elect whom he has chosen, he has made those days few.
21 “Pea ka toki pehē ai ʻe ha taha kiate kimoutolu, ‘Vakai, ko eni ʻa Kalaisi;’ pe, ‘Vakai, [ʻoku ]ʻi hena[ia];’ ʻoua ʻe tui[ki ia]:
And then, if any one say to you: Lo! here is the Christ, or, Lo! there; believe him not.
22 He koeʻuhi ʻe tupu ʻae ngaahi Kalaisi loi mo e kau palōfita loi, ʻonau fakahā ʻae ngaahi fakaʻilonga mo e ngaahi meʻa fakaofo, ke kākā ʻaki ʻae kakai kuo fili ʻo ka ne faingofua.
For false Christs and false prophets will arise, and will show signs and wonders, in order to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.
23 Kae tokanga ʻakimoutolu: vakai, ku ou tomuʻa fakahā ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni kotoa pē kiate kimoutolu.
But do you take heed: behold, I have told you all things beforehand.
24 “Ka ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ko ia, hili ʻae mamahi ko ia, ʻe fakapoʻuli ʻae laʻā, pea ʻe ʻikai tuku mai ʻe he māhina ʻa hono maama,
But in those days, after that affliction, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give her light,
25 Pea ʻe ngangana ʻae ngaahi fetuʻu ʻoe langi, pea ʻe lulu ʻae ngaahi mālohi ʻoe langi.
and the stars of heaven will fall, and the hosts that are in the heavens will be shaken.
26 Pea te nau toki mamata ki he Foha ʻoe tangata ʻoku haʻu ʻi he ngaahi ʻao, mo e mālohi lahi mo e nāunau.
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
27 Pea ʻe toki fekau ʻe ia ʻa ʻene kau ʻāngelo, pea tānaki fakataha ʻa ʻene kakai fili mei he feituʻu langi ʻe fā, mei he ngataʻanga ʻoe fonua ʻo aʻu ki he ngataʻanga ʻae langi.
And then will he send his angels, and gather his elect from the four winds, from the most distant part of earth to the most distant part of heaven.
28 “Ko eni, mou ʻilo ʻae fakaʻilonga ʻi he ʻakau ko e fiki; ʻOka kei litolito hono vaʻa, pea tupu hono lau, ʻoku mou ʻilo ʻoku ofi ʻae faʻahitaʻu mafana:
But learn a parable from the fig-tree: As soon as its branch becomes tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.
29 Ke pehē foki ʻakimoutolu, ʻoka mou ka mamata ki hono hoko ʻoe ngaahi meʻa ni, mou ʻilo ʻoku ofi ia, ʻio, ʻi he matapā.
So, also, when you see these things coming to pass, know that it is near, at the doors.
30 Ko e moʻoni ʻoku ou tala atu kiate kimoutolu, ʻe ʻikai mole ʻae toʻutangata ni, kaeʻoua ke fai ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni kotoa pē.
Verily I say to you, this generation shall not pass away, till all these things take place.
31 ʻE mole ʻae langi mo e fonua: ka ko ʻeku ngaahi lea ʻe ʻikai mole.
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
32 “Ka ko e ʻaho ko ia mo hono feituʻulaʻā, ʻoku ʻikai ha taha ʻoku ne ʻilo ki ai, ʻe ʻikai, pe ko e kau ʻāngelo ʻoku ʻi he langi, pe ko e Foha, ka ko e Tamai.
But of that day or that hour no one knows: neither the angels who are in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father.
33 Mou vakai, leʻo pea lotu: he ʻoku ʻikai te mou ʻilo pe hoko ʻafē ʻae ʻaho ko ia.
Take heed, watch and pray: for you know not when the time is.
34 ʻOka fononga ha tangata, ʻoku ne tuku hono ʻapi ke tauhi ʻe heʻene kau tamaioʻeiki, pea ne vahe ʻae ngāue kiate kinautolu taki taha, pea fekau ki he tauhi matapā ke leʻo.
As a man, going into another country, leaves his house, and gives authority to his servants, and to each one his own work, and commands the door-keeper to watch;
35 Ko ia mou leʻo: he ʻoku ʻikai te mou ʻilo pe haʻu fakakū ʻae ʻeiki ʻoe fale, ʻi he efiafi, pe ʻi he tuʻuapō, pe ʻi he ʻuʻua ʻae moa, pe ʻi he pongipongi;
watch you therefore; for you know not when the master of the house comes, whether at evening, or at midnight, or at the crowing of the cock, or in the morning;
36 Telia naʻa haʻu fakafokifā pe ia, ʻo ne ʻilo ʻakimoutolu ʻoku mou mohe.
lest he come suddenly, and find you sleeping.
37 Pea ko ia ʻoku ou tala kiate kimoutolu, ʻoku ou tala ki he kakai kotoa pē, Leʻo.”
What I say to you, I say to all, Watch.
