1 Ko e ʻOtua, ʻaia naʻe folofola ʻi muʻa ʻi he ngaahi kuonga kehekehe mo e ngaahi anga kehekehe ki he ngaahi tamai ʻi he kau palōfita,
God, who in many parts and in many ways spoke in ancient times to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by his Son,
2 Kuo ne folofola ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ki mui ni kiate kitautolu ʻi [hono ]ʻAlo, ʻaia kuo ne tuʻutuʻuni ke ʻaʻana ʻae ngaahi meʻa kotoa pē, ʻaia ne ne ngaohi ai foki ʻae ngaahi maama; (aiōn g165)
whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom, also, he made the ages; (aiōn g165)
3 Ko e malama ia ʻo [hono ]nāunau, mo e tatau ʻaupito ʻo ʻene ʻafio, pea ʻoku ne poupou hake ʻae meʻa kotoa pē ʻaki ʻene folofola mālohi, pea kuo hili ʻene fai ʻe ia ʻae totongi ʻi heʻetau ngaahi angahala, pea nofo hifo ia ʻi he nima toʻomataʻu ʻoe Fungani Māʻolunga;
who, being the effulgence of his glory and the exact representation of his essence, and upholding all things by his own powerful word, when he had by himself made expiation for our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
4 Pea kuo māʻolunga lahi ʻaupito ia ʻi he kau ʻāngelo, koe meʻa ʻi heʻene maʻu totonu ʻae huafa lelei lahi ʻiate kinautolu.
having become so far superior to the angels, as the name which he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.
5 He naʻe pehē ʻe ia ʻanefē ki ha ʻāngelo fē, “Ko hoku ʻAlo koe, kuo u fakatupu koe ʻi he ʻaho ni?” Pea toe pehē, “Te u hoko au ko e Tamai kiate ia, pea ʻe hoko ia ko e ʻAlo kiate au?”
For to which of the angels did he at any time say: Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again: I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
6 Pea ʻi he ʻomi ʻe ia ʻae ʻuluaki fakatupu ki māmani, naʻe toe pehē ʻe ia, “Ke hū kiate ia ʻae kau ʻāngelo kotoa pē ʻae ʻOtua.”
And again, when he brings the first-begotten into the world, he says: And let all the angels of God worship him.
7 Pea ki he kau ʻāngelo ʻoku pehē ʻe ia, “ʻOku ne ngaohi ʻene kau ʻāngelo [ke hangē ]ko e matangi, mo ʻene kautauhi [ke hangē ]ko e ulo afi.”
And of the angels he says: Who makes his angels winds, and his ministers a flame of fire.
8 Ka ki he ʻAlo, [ʻoku ne pehē], “E ʻOtua, ko ho nofoʻanga ʻoku lauikuonga pea taʻengata: ko e tokotoko ʻo ho puleʻanga ko e tokotoko māʻoniʻoni ia. (aiōn g165)
But to the Son: Thy throne, O God, is from age to age: a scepter of rectitude is the scepter of thy kingdom. (aiōn g165)
9 Kuo ke ʻofa ki he māʻoniʻoni, pea fehiʻa ki he angahala; ko ia ko e ʻOtua, ko ho ʻOtua, kuo ne tākai ʻaki koe ʻae lolo ʻoe fiefia ʻo lahi hake ʻi ho kāinga.”
Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore, God, thy God, has anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10 Pea, “Ko koe, ʻe ʻEiki, naʻa ke ʻai ʻi he kamataʻanga ʻae tuʻunga ʻo māmani; pea koe ngaahi langi ko e ngaue ia ʻa ho nima:
And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning, didst lay the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of thy hands.
11 E ʻauha ia; ka ʻe pehē ai pe ʻa koe; ʻe fakaʻaʻau ia kotoa pē ke motuʻa ʻo hangē ko e kofu;
They shall perish; but thou remainest: and they all shall grow old as a garment;
12 Pea hangē ko e pulupulu te ke takatakai ia, pea ʻe fakakehe ia: ka ʻe pehē ai pe ʻa koe, pea ʻe ʻikai ngata ʻa ho ngaahi taʻu.”
and as a mantle thou shalt fold them up, and they shall be changed; but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
13 Ka naʻe pehē ʻe ia ʻanefē ki ha ʻāngelo fē, “Nofo koe ʻi hoku nima toʻomataʻu, kaeʻoua ke u ngaohi ho ngaahi fili ko ho tuʻunga vaʻe?”
But to which of the angels has he said at any time: Sit on my right hand, till I make thy enemies thy footstool?
14 ‌ʻIkai ko e kau laumālie tauhi pe ʻakinautolu kotoa pē, ʻoku fekaua ke tauhiʻi ʻakinautolu ʻe maʻu ʻae fakamoʻui;
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister to those who shall inherit salvation?
