< 1 Kolinitō 10 >

1 Ka ʻoku ʻikai ko hoku loto ʻe kāinga, ke mou taʻeʻilo, naʻe ʻi he malumalu ʻoe ʻao ʻa ʻetau ngaahi tamai kotoa pē, pea naʻa nau ʻalu atu kotoa pē ʻi he tahi;
Brethren I wolde not that ye shuld be ignoraunt of this how yt oure fathers were all vnder a cloude and all passed thorow the see
2 Pea naʻe papitaiso kotoa pē ia Mōsese ʻi he ʻao pea ʻi he tahi;
and were all baptised vnder Moses in the cloude and in the see:
3 Pea naʻa nau kai kotoa pē ʻi he meʻakai fakalaumālie pe taha;
and dyd all eate of one spirituall meate
4 Pea naʻa nau inu kotoa pē ʻi he inu fakalaumālie pe taha: he naʻa nau inu mei he Maka fakalaumālie ko ia ʻaia naʻe muimui [ʻiate kinautolu]: pea ko e Maka ko ia ko Kalaisi.
and did all drincke of one maner of spirituall drincke. And they dranke of that spretuall rocke that folowed them which rocke was Christ.
5 Ka naʻe ʻikai siʻi fiemālie ʻae ʻOtua ki honau tokolahi: he naʻe tulaki hifo ʻakinautolu ʻi he toafa.
But in many of them had god no delite. For they were overthrowen in the wildernes.
6 Pea ko e ngaahi meʻa ni ko e ngaahi fakatātā kiate kitautolu, koeʻuhi ke ʻoua naʻa tau holi ki he ngaahi meʻa kovi, ʻo hangē ko ʻenau holi kovi.
These are ensamples to vs that we shuld not lust after evyll thinges as they lusted
7 Pea ʻoua naʻa mou tauhi tamapua, ʻo hangē ko honau niʻihi; ʻo tatau mo ia kuo tohi, “Naʻe nofo hifo ʻae kakai ke kai mo inu, pea tutuʻu hake ʻo meʻe.”
Nether be ye worshippers of Images as were some of them accordynge as it is written: The people sate doune to eate and drynke and rose vp agayne to playe.
8 Pea ʻoua naʻa tau fai feʻauaki, ʻo hangē ko e fai ʻe honau niʻihi, pea tō ai ʻi he ʻaho pe taha ʻae toko ua mano mo e toko tolu afe.
Nether let vs comit fornicacion as some of them committed fornicacion and were destroyed in one daye. xxiii. thousande.
9 Pea ʻoua naʻa tau ʻahiʻahi kia Kalaisi, ʻo hangē ko e ʻahiʻahi ʻo honau niʻihi, pea tāmateʻi ʻakinautolu ʻaki ʻae fanga ngata.
Nether let vs tempte Christ as some of them tempted and were destroyed of serpentes.
10 Pea ʻoua naʻa mou lāunga, ʻo hangē ko e lāunga ʻa honau niʻihi, pea nau ʻauha ʻi he fakaʻauha.
Nether murmure ye as some of them murmured and were destroyed of ye destroyer
11 Pea naʻe hoko ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni kotoa pē kiate kinautolu ko e ngaahi fakaʻilonga: pea kuo tohi ia ko hotau akonakiʻi, ʻakitautolu kuo hoko ki ai hono ngataʻanga ʻoe kuonga. (aiōn g165)
All these thinges happened vnto them for ensamples and were written to put vs in remembraunce whom the endes of the worlde are come apon. (aiōn g165)
12 Pea ko ia ʻoku mahalo ʻoku ne tuʻu, ke vakai telia naʻa hinga ia.
Wherfore let hym that thynketh he stodeth take hede least he fall.
13 ‌ʻOku ʻikai ha ʻahiʻahi ʻe tō kiate kimoutolu ka ko ia ʻoku faʻa hoko ki he tangata: ka ʻoku moʻoni ʻae ʻOtua, pea ʻe ʻikai te ne tuku ke lahi hono ʻahiʻahiʻi ʻakimoutolu ʻi he meʻa te mou faʻa fai; ka ʻi he ʻahiʻahi ʻe tofa foki ʻe ia ʻae hala ke hao ai, koeʻuhi ke mou faʻa kātaki ia.
There hath none other temptacion taken you but soche as foloweth ye nature of ma. But God is faythfull which shall not suffer you to be tempted above youre strenght: but shall in the myddes of the temptacion make awaye to escape out.
14 Ko ia, ko hoku kāinga ʻofeina, puna mei he tauhi tamapua.
Wherfore my deare beloued fle from worshippynge of ydols.
15 ‌ʻOku ou lea atu ki ke kau tangata poto; mou fakamaau ki heʻeku lea.
I speake as vnto them which have discrecion Iudge ye what I saye.
16 Ko e ipu ʻoe tāpuaki ʻaia ʻoku mau tāpuakiʻi, ʻikai ko e feohiʻanga ia ʻi he taʻataʻa ʻo Kalaisi? Ko e mā ʻoku mau tofitofi, ʻikai ko e feohiʻanga ia ʻi he sino ʻo Kalaisi?
Ys not the cuppe of blessinge which we blesse partakynge of ye bloude of Christ? ys not the breed which we breake partetakynge of the body of Christ?
17 Pea koeʻuhi ʻoku taha pe ʻae foʻi mā, ko kitautolu ko e tokolahi ko e sino pe taha: he ʻoku tau ʻinasi fakataha ʻi he foʻi mā pe taha ko ia.
because that we (though we be many) yet are one breed and one bodye in as moch as we all are partetakers of one breed.
18 Vakai ki ʻIsileli fakakakano: ʻikai ʻoku kau fakataha mo e ʻesifeilaulau ʻakinautolu ʻoku kai ʻae ngaahi feilaulau?
Beholde Israhell which walketh carnally. Are not they which eate of the sacrifyse partetakers of the aultre?
19 Ka ʻoku ou pehē ai ko e hā? Ko ha meʻa koā ʻae tamapua, pe ko ha meʻa ʻaia ʻoku ʻatu ʻo feilaulau ʻaki ki he ngaahi tamapua?
What saye I then? that the ymage is eny thinge? or that it which is offered to ymages is eny thinge?
20 [ʻE ʻikai]; he ko e ngaahi meʻa ʻoku feilaulau ʻaki ʻe he kakai Senitaile, ʻoku nau feilaulau ʻaki ki he ngaahi tēvolo, kae ʻikai ki he ʻOtua: pea ʻoku ʻikai ko hoku loto ke mou feohi mo e ngaahi tēvolo.
Nay but I saye that those thinges which the gentyle offer they offer to devyls and not to god. And I wolde not that ye shuld have fellishippe with ye devils
21 ‌ʻOku ʻikai te mou faʻa inu ʻi he ipu ʻae ʻEiki, mo e ipu ʻae ngaahi tēvolo: ʻoku ʻikai te mou faʻa kau ʻi he keinangaʻanga ʻae ʻEiki, mo e keinangaʻanga ʻae ngaahi tēvolo.
Ye canot drincke of the cup of the lorde and of yt cup of ye deuyls. Ye cnanot be partetakers of the lordes table and of the table of deuelles.
22 Pea te tau fakafuaʻa ʻae ʻEiki? ʻOku tau mālohi kiate ia?
Ether shall we provoke the lorde? Or are we stronger then he? All thynges are laufull vnto me but all thynges are not expedient.
23 ‌ʻOku ngofua ʻae meʻa kotoa pē kiate au, ka ʻoku ʻikai ʻaonga ʻae meʻa kotoa pē: ʻoku ngofua ʻae meʻa kotoa pē kiate au, ka ʻoku ʻikai langa hake kotoa pē.
All thynges are lawfull to me but all thinges edifye not.
24 Ke ʻoua naʻa kumi taki taha hono lelei pe ʻoʻona, ka ki he lelei ʻae niʻihi kehe.
Let no man seke his awne proffet: but let every man seke anothers welthe.
25 ‌ʻIlonga ʻaia ʻoku fakatau ʻi he potu fakatau, kai ia, pea ʻoua naʻa fehuʻi telia ʻae loto:
What soever is solde in the market that eate and axe no questions for conscience sake
26 He “ʻoku ʻae ʻEiki ʻae fonua, mo hono fonu ʻo ia.”
For the erth is the lordis and all that therein is.
27 Kapau ʻe talaki ʻakimoutolu ʻe ha taha ʻiate kinautolu ʻoku ʻikai tui, pea ʻoku mou loto ke ʻalu ki ai; ko ia ʻoku tuku ʻi homou ʻao, kai, pea ʻoua naʻa fehuʻi telia ʻae loto.
Yf eny of them which beleve not bid you to a feest and yf ye be disposed to goo what soever is seet before you: eate axinge no question for conscience sake.
28 Ka ʻoka pehē ʻe ha taha kiate kimoutolu, “Kuo feilaulau ʻaki eni ki he ngaahi tamapua,” ʻoua naʻa mou kai ia, [telia ]ia kuo ne fakahā, pea telia mo e loto foki: he “ʻoku ʻae ʻEiki ʻae fonua, mo hono fonu ʻo ia:”
But and yf eny man saye vnto you: this is dedicate vnto ydols eate not of it for his sake that shewed it and for hurtynge of conscience.
29 ‌ʻOku ou pehē “ko e loto,” kae ʻikai ʻoʻou, ka ʻoe tokotaha: he ko e hā ʻoku fakamaau ai ʻeku tauʻatāina ʻaki ʻae loto ʻoe taha kehe?
Conscience I saye not thyne: but the coscieuce of that other. For why shuld my liberte be iudged of another manes conscience:
30 He kapau ko ha meʻa ʻi he ʻofa ʻoku ou maʻu ai ia, ko e hā ʻoku lauʻikovi ai au ʻi he meʻa ko ia ʻoku ou fakafetaʻi ai?”
For yf I take my parte with thakes: why am I evell spoken of for that thynge wherfore I geve thankes.
31 Ko ia kapau ʻoku mou kai, pe inu, pe ko e hā ʻae meʻa ʻoku mou fai, fai kotoa pē ke fakaongolelei ai ʻae ʻOtua.
Whether therfore ye eate or dryncke or what soever ye do do all to the prayse of God.
32 ‌ʻOua naʻa fai fakaʻita, pe ki he kakai Siu, pe ki he kakai Senitaile, pe ki he siasi ʻoe ʻOtua:
Se that ye geve occasion of evell nether to ye Iewes nor yet to the gentyls nether to ye cogregacion of god:
33 ‌ʻIo, ʻo hangē ko au, ʻoku ou fakafiemālieʻi ʻae tangata kotoa pē ʻi he meʻa kotoa pē, ʻo ʻikai kumi ʻae lelei ʻoʻoku, ka ko e lelei ʻoe tokolahi, koeʻuhi ke nau moʻui.
euen as I please all men in all thinges not sekynge myne awne proffet but the proffet of many that they myght be saved. Folowe me as I do Christ.
