ரோமர் 15
1 ௧ அன்றியும், பலம் உள்ளவர்களாகிய நாம் நமக்கே பிரியமாக நடக்காமல், பலவீனருடைய பலவீனங்களைத் தாங்கவேண்டும்.
We, the strong, ought to take on our own shoulders the weaknesses of those who are not strong, and not merely to please ourselves.
2 ௨ நம்மில் ஒவ்வொருவனும் அயலகத்தானுக்கு பக்திவளர்ச்சிக்குரிய நன்மையை உண்டாக்குவதற்காக அவனுக்குப் பிரியமாக நடக்கவேண்டும்.
Let each of us please his neighbour for his neighbour’s good, to help in the building up of his character.
3 ௩ கிறிஸ்துவும் தமக்கே பிரியமாக நடக்காமல்: உம்மை அவமதிக்கிறவர்களுடைய அவமானங்கள் என்மேல் விழுந்தது என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறபடியே நடந்தார்.
Even the Christ did not please himself! On the contrary, as Scripture says of him — ‘The reproaches of those who were reproaching thee fell upon me.’
4 ௪ தேவவசனத்தினால் உண்டாகும் பொறுமையினாலும், ஆறுதலினாலும் நாம் நம்பிக்கை உள்ளவர்களாவதற்காக, முன்பே எழுதியிருக்கிறவைகள் எல்லாம் நமக்குப் போதனையாக எழுதியிருக்கிறது.
Whatever was written in the Scriptures in days gone by was written for our instruction, so that, through patient endurance, and through the encouragement drawn from the Scriptures, we might hold fast to our hope.
5 ௫ நீங்கள் ஒருமனப்பட்டு நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் பிதாவாகிய தேவனை ஒரே வாயினால் மகிமைப்படுத்துவதற்காக,
And may God, the giver of this patience and this encouragement, grant you to be united in sympathy in Christ,
6 ௬ பொறுமையையும் ஆறுதலையும் அளிக்கும் தேவன், கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவினுடைய மாதிரியின்படியே, நீங்கள் ஒரே சிந்தை உள்ளவர்களாக இருக்க உங்களுக்கு தயவு செய்வாராக.
so that with one heart and one voice you may praise the God and Father of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
7 ௭ எனவே, தேவனுக்கு மகிமையுண்டாகும்படி, கிறிஸ்து நம்மை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டதுபோல, நீங்களும் ஒருவரையொருவர் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.
Therefore always receive one another as friends, just as the Christ himself received us, to the glory of God.
8 ௮ மேலும், முற்பிதாக்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட வாக்குத்தத்தங்களை உறுதியாக்குவதற்காக, தேவனுடைய சத்தியத்தினால் இயேசுகிறிஸ்து விருத்தசேதனம் உள்ளவர்களுக்கு ஊழியக்காரர் ஆனார் என்றும்;
For I tell you that Christ, in vindication of God’s truthfulness, has become a minister of the Covenant of Circumcision, so that he may fulfil the promises made to our ancestors,
9 ௯ “யூதரல்லாத மக்களும் இரக்கம் பெற்றதினால் தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்துகிறார்கள் என்றும் சொல்லுகிறேன். அப்படியே: இதனால் நான் யூதரல்லாத மக்களுக்குள்ளே உம்மை அறிக்கைசெய்து, உம்முடைய நாமத்தைச் சொல்லி, சங்கீதம் பாடுவேன்” என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறது.
and that the Gentiles also may praise God for his mercy. As Scripture says — ‘Therefore will I make acknowledgment to thee among the Gentiles and sing in honour of thy Name.’
And again it says — ‘Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with God’s People.’
11 ௧௧ மேலும், யூதரல்லாத மக்களே, எல்லோரும் கர்த்த்தரை துதியுங்கள்; மக்களே, எல்லோரும் அவரைப் புகழுங்கள்” என்றும் சொல்லுகிறார்.
And yet again — ‘Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles, and let all Peoples sing his praises.’
12 ௧௨ மேலும், “ஈசாயின் வேரும் யூதரல்லாத மக்களை ஆளுகை செய்கிற ஒருவர் தோன்றுவார்; அவரிடம் யூதரல்லாத மக்கள் நம்பிக்கை வைப்பார்கள்” என்று ஏசாயா சொல்லுகிறான்.
Again, Isaiah says — ‘There shall be a Scion of the house of Jesse, One who is to arise to rule the Gentiles; on him shall the Gentiles rest their hopes.’
13 ௧௩ பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரின் பலத்தினாலே உங்களுக்கு நம்பிக்கை பெருக, நம்பிக்கையின் தேவன் விசுவாசத்தினால் உண்டாகும் எல்லாவிதமான சந்தோஷத்தினாலும், சமாதானத்தினாலும் உங்களை நிரப்புவாராக.
May God, who inspires our hope, grant you perfect happiness and peace in your faith, till you are filled with this hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
14 ௧௪ என் சகோதரர்களே, நீங்கள் நற்குணத்தினால் நிறைந்தவர்களும், எல்லா அறிவினாலும் நிரப்பப்பட்டவர்களும், ஒருவருக்கொருவர் புத்திசொல்ல வல்லவர்களுமாக இருக்கிறீர்கள் என்று நானும் உங்களைக்குறித்து நிச்சயித்திருக்கிறேன்.
I am persuaded, my Brothers — yes, I Paul, with regard to you — that you are yourselves full of kindness, furnished with all Christian learning, and well able to give advice to one another.
15 ௧௫ அப்படியிருந்தும், சகோதரர்களே, யூதரல்லாதவர்கள் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவராலே பரிசுத்தமாக்கப்பட்டு, தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமான பலியாகும்படி, நான் தேவனுடைய நற்செய்தி ஊழியத்தை நடத்தும் ஆசாரியனாக இருந்து யூதரல்லாதவர்களுக்கு இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினுடைய ஊழியக்காரனாவதற்கு,
But in parts of this letter I have expressed myself somewhat boldly — by way of refreshing your memories —
16 ௧௬ தேவன் எனக்கு அளித்த கிருபையினாலே உங்களுக்கு ஞாபகப்படுத்துவதற்காக இவைகளை நான் அதிக தைரியமாக எழுதினேன்.
because of the charge with which God has entrusted me, that I should be a minister of Christ Jesus to go to the Gentiles — that I should act as a priest of God’s Good News, so that the offering up of the Gentiles may be an acceptable sacrifice, consecrated by the Holy Spirit.
It is, then, through my union with Christ Jesus that I have a proud confidence in my work for God.
18 ௧௮ யூதரல்லாதவர்களை வார்த்தையினாலும் செய்கையினாலும் கீழ்ப்படியப்பண்ணுவதற்கு, அற்புத அடையாளங்களின் பலத்தினாலும், தேவ ஆவியானவரின் பலத்தினாலும், கிறிஸ்துவானவர் என்னைக்கொண்டு செய்தவைகளைத்தவிர வேறொன்றையும் சொல்ல நான் துணியவில்லை.
For I will not dare to speak of anything but what Christ has done through me to win the obedience of the Gentiles —
19 ௧௯ இப்படி எருசலேமிலிருந்து ஆரம்பித்து, இல்லிரிக்கம் தேசம்வரைக்கும், கிறிஸ்துவின் நற்செய்தியைப் பூரணமாகப் பிரசங்கம் செய்திருக்கிறேன்.
by my words and actions, through the power displayed in signs and marvels, and through the power of the Holy Spirit. And so, starting from Jerusalem and its neighbourhood, and going as far as Illyria, I have told in full the Good News of the Christ;
20 ௨0 மேலும் அவருடைய செய்தியை அறியாமல் இருந்தவர்கள் பார்ப்பார்கள் என்றும், கேள்விப்படாமல் இருந்தவர்கள் உணர்ந்துகொள்வார்கள் என்றும் எழுதியிருக்கிறபடியே,
yet always with the ambition to tell the Good News where Christ’s name had not previously been heard, so as to avoid building upon another man’s foundations.
21 ௨௧ நான் மற்றொருவனுடைய அஸ்திபாரத்தின்மேல் கட்டாமல் கிறிஸ்துவினுடைய நாமம் சொல்லப்படாத இடங்களில் நற்செய்தியை அறிவிக்கும்படி விரும்புகிறேன்.
But as Scripture says — ‘They to whom he had never been proclaimed shall see; and they who have never heard shall understand!’
That is why I have so often been prevented from coming to you.
23 ௨௩ இப்பொழுது இந்தப் பகுதிகளிலே எனக்கு இடம் இல்லதாதினாலும், உங்களிடம் வரும்படி அநேக வருடமாக எனக்கு அதிக விருப்பம் உண்டாயிருக்கிறபடியினாலும்,
But now there are no further openings for me in these parts, and I have for several years been longing to come to you whenever I may be going to Spain.
24 ௨௪ நான் ஸ்பானியா தேசத்திற்கு பயணம்செய்யும்போது உங்களிடம் வந்து, உங்களைப் பார்க்கவும், உங்களிடம் கொஞ்சம் திருப்தியடைந்தபின்பு, அந்த இடத்திற்கு உங்களால் நான் வழியனுப்பப்படவும், எனக்கு நேரம் கிடைக்கும் என்று நம்பியிருக்கிறேன்.
For my hope is to visit you on my journey, and then to be sent on my way by you, after I have first partly satisfied myself by seeing something of you.
Just now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem, to take help to Christ’s People there.
26 ௨௬ மக்கெதோனியாவிலும், அகாயாவிலும் உள்ளவர்கள் எருசலேமிலுள்ள பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்குள்ளே இருக்கிற ஏழைகளுக்கு சில பொருளுதவிகளைச் செய்ய விருப்பமாக இருக்கிறார்கள்;
For Macedonia and Greece have been glad to make a collection for the poor among Christ’s People at Jerusalem.
27 ௨௭ இப்படிச்செய்வது நல்லதென்று நினைத்தார்கள்; இப்படிச் செய்கிறதற்கு அவர்கள் கடனாளிகளாகவும் இருக்கிறார்கள். எப்படியென்றால், யூதரல்லாதவர்கள் அவர்களுடைய ஞானநன்மைகளில் பங்குபெற்றிருக்க, சரீர நன்மைகளால் அவர்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்ய இவர்கள் கடனாளிகளாக இருக்கிறார்களே.
Yes, they were glad to do so; and indeed it is a duty which they owe to them. For the Gentile converts who have shared their spiritual blessings are in duty bound to minister to them in the things of this world.
28 ௨௮ இந்தக் காரியத்தை நான் நிறைவேற்றி, இந்தப் பலனை அவர்கள் கையிலே பத்திரமாக ஒப்புவித்தப்பின்பு, உங்களுடைய ஊர்வழியாக ஸ்பானியாவிற்குப் போவேன்.
When I have settled this matter, and have secured to the poor at Jerusalem the enjoyment of these benefits, I shall go, by way of you, to Spain.
29 ௨௯ நான் உங்களிடம் வரும்போது கிறிஸ்துவினுடைய நற்செய்தியின் சம்பூரணமான ஆசீர்வாதத்தோடு வருவேன் என்று அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்.
And I know that, when I come to you, it will be with a full measure of blessing from Christ.
30 ௩0 மேலும் சகோதரர்களே, தேவ விருப்பத்தினாலே நான் சந்தோஷத்தோடு உங்களிடம் வந்து உங்களோடு ஓய்வெடுப்பதற்காக,
I beg you, then, Brothers, by Jesus Christ, our Lord, and by the love inspired by the Spirit, to join me in earnest prayer to God on my behalf.
31 ௩௧ யூதேயாவிலிருக்கிற அவிசுவாசிகளுக்கு நான் தப்புவிக்கப்படுவதற்காகவும், நான் எருசலேமிலுள்ள பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்குச் செய்யப்போகிற தர்மஉதவிகள் அவர்களால் அங்கீகரிக்கப்படுவதற்காகவும்,
Pray that I may be rescued from those in Judea who reject the Faith, and that the help which I am taking to Jerusalem may prove acceptable to Christ’s People;
32 ௩௨ நீங்கள் தேவனை நோக்கி செய்யும் ஜெபங்களில், நான் போராடுவதுபோல நீங்களும் என்னோடு சேர்ந்து போராடவேண்டும் என்று நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினாலும், பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவருடைய அன்பினாலும், உங்களை வேண்டிக்கொள்கிறேன்.
so that, God willing, I may be able to come to you with a joyful heart, and enjoy some rest among you.
May God, the giver of peace, be with you all. Amen.
