சங்கீதம் 83

1 ௧ ஆசாபின் பாடல். தேவனே, மவுனமாக இருக்கவேண்டாம், பேசாமல் இருக்கவேண்டாம்; தேவனே, சும்மாயிருக்க வேண்டாம்.

God, do not continue to be silent! Do not be quiet and say nothing,

2 ௨ இதோ, உம்முடைய எதிரிகள் கொந்தளித்து, உம்முடைய பகைஞர் தலையை உயர்த்துகிறார்கள்.

because your enemies are rioting against you; those who hate you are rebelling against you!

3 ௩ உமது மக்களுக்கு விரோதமாக சதி செய்ய யோசித்து, உமது மறைவில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாக ஆலோசனைசெய்கிறார்கள்.

They are secretly planning to do things to harm [us], your people; they are (conspiring together against/planning how to defeat) the people whom you protect.

4 ௪ அவர்கள் இனி ஒரு தேசமாக இல்லாமலும், இஸ்ரவேலின் பெயர் இனி நினைக்கப்படாமலும் போவதற்காக, அவர்களை அழிப்போம் வாருங்கள் என்கிறார்கள்.

They say, “Come, we must destroy their nation, with the result that no one will remember that Israel ever existed!”

5 ௫ இப்படி, ஏதோமின் கூடாரத்தார்களும், இஸ்மவேலர்களும், மோவாபியர்களும், ஆகாரியர்களும்,

They have agreed on [what they want to do to destroy Israel], and they have formed an alliance against you.

6 ௬ கேபாலர்களும், அம்மோனியர்களும், அமலேக்கியர்களும், தீருவின் குடிமக்களோடுகூடிய பெலிஸ்தர்களும்,

[The people who have done that are] the people of Edom [region], the descendants of Ishmael [who live on the east side of the Jordan River], the Moab [people-group], the descendants of Hagar [who also live on the east side of the Jordan River],

7 ௭ ஒரே மனதோடு முடிவெடுத்து ஆலோசனைசெய்து, உமக்கு விரோதமாக ஒப்பந்தம் செய்துகொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.

Gebal [people-group], the Ammon [people-group], the Amalek [people-group], the Philistia [people-group], and the people of Tyre [city].

8 ௮ அசீரியர்களும் அவர்களோடேகூடக் கலந்து, லோத்தின் சந்ததிகளுக்கு பலமானார்கள். (சேலா)

[The people of] have joined them; they are strong allies of the [Moab and Ammon people-groups, who are] descendants of [Abraham’s nephew] Lot.

9 ௯ மீதியானியர்களுக்குச் செய்தது போலவும், கீசோன் என்னும் ஆற்றின் அருகில் எந்தோரிலே அழிக்கப்பட்டு,

[God], do to those people things like you did to the Midian [people-group], like [you did] to Sisera and Jabin at Kishon River.

10 ௧0 நிலத்திற்கு எருவாய்ப்போன சிசெரா, யாபீன் என்பவர்களுக்குச் செய்ததுபோலவும், அவர்களுக்குச் செய்யும்.

You destroyed them at Endor [town], and their corpses [lay on] the ground and decayed.

11 ௧௧ அவர்களையும் அவர்கள் அதிபதிகளையும் ஓரேபுக்கும் சேபுக்கும், அவர்கள் பிரபுக்களையெல்லாம் சேபாவுக்கும் சல்முனாவுக்கும் சமமாக்கும்.

Do to them things like you did to [Kings] Oreb and Zeeb; defeat their leaders like you defeated Zebah and Zalmunna,

12 ௧௨ தேவனுடைய வாசஸ்தலங்களை எங்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரமாக நாங்கள் கட்டிக்கொள்வோம் என்று சொல்லுகிறார்களே.

who said, “We will take for ourselves the land that [the Israelis say] belongs to God!”

13 ௧௩ என் தேவனே, அவர்களைச் சுழல்காற்றின் புழுதிக்கும், காற்று முகத்தில் பறக்கும் துரும்புக்கும் சமமாக்கும்.

My God, cause them [to disappear quickly] like whirling dust, like chaff that the wind blows away!

14 ௧௪ நெருப்பு காட்டைக் கொளுத்துவதுபோலவும், அக்கினி ஜூவாலைகள் மலைகளை எரிப்பது போலவும்,

Like a fire completely burns a forest and like flames burn in the mountains,

15 ௧௫ நீர் உமது புயலினாலே அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்து, உமது பெருங்காற்றினாலே அவர்களைக் கலங்கச்செய்யும்.

expel them by sending storms; cause them to be terrified by your big storms/hurricanes!

16 ௧௬ யெகோவாவே, அவர்கள் உமது பெயரைத் தேடும்படிக்கு, அவர்கள் முகங்களை அவமானத்தாலே மூடும்.

Cause them [SYN] to be very ashamed in order that they will admit that you are very powerful.

17 ௧௭ யேகோவா என்னும் பெயரை உடைய தேவனே நீர் ஒருவரே பூமியனைத்தின்மேலும் உன்னதமான தேவன் என்று மனிதர்கள் உணரும்படி,

Cause them to be forever disgraced [because of being defeated], and cause them to die while they are still disgraced.

18 ௧௮ அவர்கள் என்றைக்கும் வெட்கிக் கலங்கி, அவமானமடைந்து அழிந்துபோவார்களாக.

Cause them to know that you, whose name is Yahweh, are the supreme ruler over everything on the earth.
