சங்கீதம் 82

1 ௧ ஆசாபின் பாடல். தேவசபையிலே தேவன் எழுந்தருளியிருக்கிறார்; தெய்வங்களின் நடுவிலே அவர் நியாயம் விசாரிக்கிறார்.

God gathers all the [rulers and judges who think they are] gods for a meeting in heaven; and he tells them that he has decided this:

2 ௨ எதுவரைக்கும் நீங்கள் அநியாயத் தீர்ப்புச்செய்து, துன்மார்க்கர்களுக்கு முகதாட்சிணியம் செய்வீர்கள். (சேலா)

“You must [RHQ] stop judging [people] unfairly; you must no longer make decisions that favor wicked [people]!

3 ௩ ஏழைக்கும் திக்கற்றபிள்ளைக்கும் நியாயஞ்செய்து, சிறுமைப்பட்டவனுக்கும் திக்கற்றவனுக்கும் நீதி செய்யுங்கள்.

You must defend [people who are] poor and orphans; you must act fairly toward those who are needy and those who have no one to help them.

4 ௪ பலவீனனையும் எளியவனையும் விடுவித்து, துன்மார்க்கர்களின் கைக்கு அவர்களைத் தப்புவியுங்கள்.

Rescue them from the power [MTY] of evil [people] [DOU]!”

5 ௫ அறியாமலும் உணராமலும் இருக்கிறார்கள், இருளிலே நடக்கிறார்கள்; தேசத்தின் அஸ்திபாரங்களெல்லாம் அசைகிறது.

[Those rulers] do not know or understand anything! They are very corrupt/evil, and [as a result of their corrupt/evil behavior], [it is as though] the foundation of the world is being shaken!

6 ௬ நீங்கள் தெய்வங்கள் என்றும், நீங்களெல்லோரும் உன்னதமான தேவனுடைய மக்கள் என்றும் நான் சொல்லியிருந்தேன்.

I [the all-powerful God, previously] said to them, “You think you are gods! [It is as though] you are all my sons,

7 ௭ ஆனாலும் நீங்கள் மனிதர்களைப்போலச் செத்து, உலகப்பிரபுக்களில் ஒருவனைப்போல விழுந்து போவீர்கள்.

but you will die like people do; your lives will end, like the lives of all rulers end.”

8 ௮ தேவனே, எழுந்தருளும், பூமிக்கு நியாயத்தீர்ப்புச் செய்யும்; நீரே எல்லா தேசங்களையும் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொண்டிருப்பவர்.

God, arise and judge [everyone on] [MTY] the earth, because all the people-groups belong to you!
